About

I PREVAIL IN CONCERT:

Post-hardcore punks I Prevail haven't let up since they first grabbed fans' attention with their incendiary cover of Taylor Swift's "Blank Space" in 2014. The band sets itself apart from the pack with a unique mix of raw punk energy, catchy hooks, and electronic textures, and in concert it all gets turned up to 11 with mosh pit-inspiring standouts like "Crossroads", "Love, Lust, and Liars", and "The Enemy". Clean singer Brian Burkheiser carries the melodies on their calm segments before screamer Eric Vanlerberghe unleashes the beast on their savage breakdowns. It's a yin-yang approach that never fails to fire up crowds at their infectiously high-energy live shows. For their Strike the Match Tour in 2016, I Prevail is teaming up with The White Noise and My Enemies & I to bring their memorable choruses and hard-hitting tones to ticket buyers across North America.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Since they first came together in Southfield, MI in 2013, I Prevail has quickly gone from local favorite to viral sensation. The group – initially comprised of Brian Burkheiser (clean vocals), Eric Vanlerberghe (scream vocals), Steve Menonian (lead guitar), Jordan Berger (rhythm guitar), and Lee Runestad (drums) – immediately started recording demos following their first rehearsals. Things took off when they released their post-hardcore version of Taylor Swift's "Blank Space", which received over 20 million views on YouTube and was featured on the compilation Punk Goes Pop, Vol. 6. Their 2015 debut EP Heart Vs. Mind garnered more attention for the group, helping them land opening spots for artists like Crown the Empire, Hollywood Undead, and Pop Evil. I Prevail thrilled fans with the announcement of their headlining Strike the Match Tour in 2016, where they brought venues like the Tabernacle to capacity all across the U.S. and Canada.

  • Disappointed

by Meh on 8/8/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 2 out of 5

Show was cut short due to “weather” when there was none; if some was anticipated, they should’ve cut the sets of one of the 3 openers so I got to see the full set for the band I paid to see. What I did get to see of iPrevail and all of Hollywood Undead’s shows were spectacular. Halestorm was awful; more focused on the theatrics than the music and it felt like the sound mixing was off. Their set was ENTIRELY too long and other people around us were complaining as well. Venue security also greatly lacked; people brought in items against the rules in plain view of the staff.

  • A great time at the show

by Warren on 8/7/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

I had a great time at the I Prevail / Halestorm / Hollywood Undead / Fit For King show at PNC. All the acts were great sounding and very entertaining. The only thing that was disappointing was that Halestorm was the headliner when I bought my tickets. They didn't play as many songs since they were no longer the headliner.

  • I PREVAIL BRINGS IT

    by Dude31 on 8/7/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

The whole show was awesome. Fit for a King, HU, Halestrom, and I Prevail. Halestrom put on a hell of a show. I Prevail stage effects was awesome, and the show was great. Unfortunately PNC Pavillion cancelled the show early because of nearby storms, so they only played 5 or 6 songs, but man it was great. Would like to see them again to see the whole show.

  • Venue

by Very Disappointed on 8/7/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

Enjoyed I Prevail, Fit for a King, and Hollywood Undead. Halestorm was horrible! There was way too much treble and the was mic turned up way too loud that we literally had to go towards the bathrooms/restaurants area to get a break from the noise. On top of that, the venue decided to cut I Prevail short because there was supposedly a bad storm coming. We wound up waiting in the parking lot area for over an hour with NO Rain whatsoever. They definitely jumped the gun and cause thousands of people to miss out on the main reason they paid for tickets....to see I Prevail! We got home 2 hours after PNC Pavillion ended the show and there was not one single rain drop, no lighting, etc. Very disappointed

  • Very Disappointed in the Venue

by Devan on 8/6/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 1 out of 5

IPrevail is one of my favorite bands and put on a great show while it lasted. While it lasted being the key words. I spent right under $300 on tickets. I can only imagine how customers with closer seats feel. The show got cut off way early while IPrevail (the main event), were only able to play 4 songs max. The Venue cut the show short due to “Severe Weather Alert” mind you, it wasn’t raining, storming, and was a perfectly normal night following the next 2hr drive back home. Everybody was pissed including myself and my group. There was no reason for concluding the show not even with IPrevail being half way into the main performance. Unbelievable.

  • Disappointed

by Bradford on 8/6/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 2 out of 5

They canceled the I prevail concert and the storm never showed up . It was all for nothing which was sad for everyone there !!!

  • Great Show, Stupid Weather

by Woodrox on 8/6/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

Super high energy and visually awesome. Very upsetting they got called early due to weather but IPrevail did great with the time they had. Fit For A King, always amazing to see, loved their set as well. Grounds were well set up.

  • Cut short

by Ash on 8/6/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 2 out of 5

The reason why my husband and I went is to see I prevail and it was cut short. Not worth the money honestly.

  • Everything amazing until the cancellation

by TH on 8/6/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 4 out of 5

All 4 of the bands were amazing. I had never seen any of them live before but it was definitely an experience I’d want to have again. Only problem was when PNC cancelled the show a few songs into the main act. I Prevail is my favorite band and I bought the ticket to see them. It was an enormous letdown when the venue shut down their concert for “inclement severe weather”. We sat in the parking lot for over an hour after they kicked us out (normal concert traffic), and there wasn’t a single sign of bad weather. No rain, lightning, thunder, or even high winds! Really wish I could have gotten the full concert, especially since IP barely tours the south region.

  • Show was great, but venue cut it short

by Lexi T on 8/6/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

The show was wonderful, and every band featured was amazing. The only downside was the venue cutting the show short due to "severe weather"in the area. The only issue with that, is I stayed in the area for another 2 hours and drove 4 hours home, and in that 6 hours, did not encounter any severe weather, not even a drop of rain. Overall, I know they did the best they could safety wise, but could've made a better call based on the radars showing nothing close to the area.

  • Cut short

by Kami on 8/6/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 3 out of 5

I love the band!!!! Thats NOT the issue! The show was canceled after only 4 songs from them bc of said "severe weather "... we didn't get a full I Prevail and thats sad 😔. Need a redo! The band wanted to keep playing and no lightning or thunder was around so go figure that one out! They we're made to stop and cancel...not nice from PNC! Just saying!

  • The show was okay

by Sarah nation on 8/6/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 2 out of 5

In my opinion, the show wasn’t all that great because it was cut short and it wasn’t even thunder storming. I bought VIP package and I didn’t even get VIP in fact there wasn’t even any vip to be found anywhere . I was kind of disappointed with all the prices there way too high. The show itself was OK. I think Halestorm was the best.

  • Stop canceling prematurely

by KT on 8/6/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 3 out of 5

The venue was nice. Not overcrowded. Plenty of food, amenities etc to where lines weren’t painfully long. My biggest complaint is the venue knew weather all day. They knew there were 4 bands lined up to play. They also knew I prevail was the main event. So why let the other 3 bands play full sets and then pull I prevail off the stage a few songs in and say “bad weather coming, get home safely” and then it was hours before anything even happened? So super bummed that I drove 8 hours total there and back and also had to drive at for a hotel to see my favorite band get shorted due to “weather predictions”. You’ve got a great setup PNC, but do better.

  • I Prevail, Hollywood undead, Halestorm

by Jay on 8/6/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 3 out of 5

I've never been a fan of Halestorms music so I can't review their portion of the concert. HU was excellent. I Prevail, they had energy, but the acoustics were off. I couldn't hear any lyrics over the music. They also were forced to cut their show short due to weather.

  • Awesome show! Premature weather decision.

    by super_tbird on 8/6/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 4 out of 5

The show as a whole exceeded my expectations. Fit For A King, Hollywood Undead, Halestorm, and I Prevail were all great! I just feel the venue made a premature decision to end the show early due to weather. We were in the parking lot for over an hour afterwards, and it never rained a drop, had a lightning strike, or a sound of thunder anywhere. When leaving the venue, they even closed the merch booth off early. Those were the only disappointments I had.

  • Always great

by Kenwaa on 8/6/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

This venue is one of our favorites! Have been to at least 4 concerts here and all the staff is amazing and helpful

  • Great show but cut short

by LisaR on 8/6/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 4 out of 5

The venue was good, no complaints except for them cutting I Prevail's setshortdue to weather that never came! Next time, cut an opening band short, not the headliner!

  • Great time had by all

by Josie U on 8/6/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

Went in wondering if we would see it or not because of weather, but the skies cleared at just the right time. Great line up of bands, even one we didnt know we were seeing. Fit For A King was awesome though. Halestorm was amazing. Only complaint is weather cutting I Prevail short. Will be there the next time they come to Charlotte!

  • Cancelled for bad weather

by Juli on 8/6/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 4 out of 5

The show itself was good until they cancelled 4 songs into I Prevail because of “bad weather” when the venue wasn’t going to be effected by the storm that was miles away and heading the opposite direction of the venue.
