Watching the play, I would have to say that the character of Desi certainly was believable and he was entertaining. However, the woman who played Lucy was not. She did not have the energy, nor the voice, that would allow you to believe that she was Lucy. Watching her trying to pull off that character, was like watching someone scratch a chalkboard with their nails. It was painful!.

What would have made complete sense is if they had black and white TVs around so we could see what it looked like on the TV screen. Especially the commercials.

by SheBeast on 9/15/12Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago"I Love Lucy" was very enjoyable and it brought back so many memories from yester year! Sirena Irwin (Lucy) & Bill Mendicta (Ricky) were cast perfectly - they acted and felt like the real thing...loved them!!! The Band was great and would have liked to see them play even more. My only complaint would be that the theatre temperature was unG-dly hot and it was VERY uncomfortable for everyone in the theatre. Not sure how the cast was able to perform and function being as warm as it was.

I liked how they made us in the audience, the actual studio audience of the shows taping. The cute lady in the cherry dress sitting in the audience with us was funny. The only thing I found to be a little off was Lucy's voice....didn't really sound like her. But all in all it was a great show!
