Huntsville Havoc at the Von Braun Center
The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) Huntsville Havoc are one of the most successful teams in the history of the league. They play their games at the Von Braun Center Arena in bustling downtown Huntsville, Alabama, adjacent to Big Spring Park and right off of the historic square. Downtown Huntsville is a haven for craft beer, coffee, dining and the arts, and a stroll through the square is a great way to start or end your Huntsville Havoc experience. Once inside the renovated Von Braun Center, championship hockey awaits you, with Coach Glenn Detulleo’s Havoc team led by players like top-scoring center Rob Darrar, captain Tyler Piacentini and promising right winger Isaac Johnson. Tickets for games are broken down into Bronze, Silver and Gold tiers, with the latter being just beyond the glass. Huntsville Havoc theme nights include a Star Wars Night, a Dog Race weekend, a St. Patrick’s Day celebration and two Alabama BBQ Nights. With well-attended games, the Havoc can boast the best average attendance in the SPHL, and that number has only gone up as the Havoc continue to raise the William B. Coffey trophy.
Huntsville Havoc Background
Entering the league in the 2004-05 season, the Huntsville Havoc are a fixture in the SPHL playoffs. The team won their first President’s Cup in 2010. And in 2018, the Havoc famously became the first fourth-seeded squad to ever win the title. They wasted no time following it up with another, when they swept the Birmingham Bulls in the finals for their second consecutive title in 2019.
The Havoc’s home rink is in the Von Braun Center, a multipurpose facility for sporting events and performing arts in downtown Huntsville. Along with the arena, the complex also features a playhouse, exhibit halls, and a concert venue that is home to the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra and once famously hosted a five-show run by Elvis Presley.
The standard bar of excellence in production of a sporting event has been raised yet again as the Huntsville Havoc hosted a Star Wars night during their sound thrashing of the Mississippi River Kings. The VBC Probst Arena provides a fantastic venue for these events and I highly recommend it for individuals and families!

Some birthday- So we did not realize that the Exposure Youth Group was so inconsiderate that they show up (all 2,000 of them) LATE- with General admission tickets ( We paid for the reserved) and due to the total lack of customer service on the Havoc's part, no one was directing these people to the appropriate seats, we missed the entire first quarter because they we all walking around (blocking the view). When I approached the Manager of Havoc- Chris, he simply said too bad we have fans- he considers the ONCE a year group from Montgomery- better fans than my family that are at most all games since 2006 when we moved here. Not sure I will be attending any more games and do not recommend anyone who wants to see a game come.
The game was very entertaining for my wife,daughter and myself.

I'm use to watching the NHL play and was happy to have gone and watched the game. I've transfered to the Huntsville area from Chicago and was just looking for something new to do here. I like the arena and the seating.
Less fun than chicken pox. Less enjoyable than getting your teeth cleaned.
I had not attended a Havoc hockey game in 2 years and was pleasantly surprised to discover all the remodeling, making the arena look just great. Lots of new and very clean concession areas. Not really a bad seat in the house! Eh, my team didn't win, but that's not Ticketmaster's fault! :-)
The game was awesome! The players played well and there was a special on hot-dogs and small drinks. My boyfriend and I regretted having gotten a quick dinner after finding this all out. :)
Awesome! Our section got free jacks biscuits and the havoc scored five goals so we got parm bites as we'll!
Great experience. Easy access to parking. Reasonable price for good family fun. Just wish you could tell obstructed views from the online seating chart.
I"m in my mid 50's and this was my first season to ever watch ice hockey. Now I plan on returning next year to watch even more Huntsville Ice Hockey, even though it's an hour and half drive from home
What a game, what an experience. Triple over time. It's too bad they didn't win, but they will be back in Friday night and we will be there. The Havoc and Propst puts on a great show.
Great family event! Had an amazing time and excellent seats! It was even more fun when Rukus came up to our row and got everyone involved! Meeting the players for autographs afterwards made the night even more memorable.
When purchasing three tickets to the Huntsville Havoc vs. Fayetteville FireAntz game, I spent $75 only to find that we had purchased tickets behind the wrong bench. We drove two hours to see the game and ended up sitting with the other team's fans! Very frustrating...
Great seats! I love the Havoc games. My son and I love sitting close to the ice. The mascots make regular visits to these areas, which is a huge plus for my son.
We bought the tickets nearest to the ice....they were horrible. We were only able to see directly in front. We finally moved to cheaper seats and could actually see much better. I have enjoyed the havoc games in the past, but this season has been less than exciting.
Huntsville Havoc was amazing! It was a first date, and it couldn't have gone better!
Great time Clean arena an the event staff were helpful. Well put togther game. Lets keep hockey in Huntsville, it's a great night of fun.
