About Huntsville Havoc
Huntsville Havoc at the Von Braun Center
The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) Huntsville Havoc are one of the most successful teams in the history of the league. They play their games at the Von Braun Center Arena in bustling downtown Huntsville, Alabama, adjacent to Big Spring Park and right off of the historic square. Downtown Huntsville is a haven for craft beer, coffee, dining and the arts, and a stroll through the square is a great way to start or end your Huntsville Havoc experience. Once inside the renovated Von Braun Center, championship hockey awaits you, with Coach Glenn Detulleo’s Havoc team led by players like top-scoring center Rob Darrar, captain Tyler Piacentini and promising right winger Isaac Johnson. Tickets for games are broken down into Bronze, Silver and Gold tiers, with the latter being just beyond the glass. Huntsville Havoc theme nights include a Star Wars Night, a Dog Race weekend, a St. Patrick’s Day celebration and two Alabama BBQ Nights. With well-attended games, the Havoc can boast the best average attendance in the SPHL, and that number has only gone up as the Havoc continue to raise the William B. Coffey trophy.
Huntsville Havoc Background
Entering the league in the 2004-05 season, the Huntsville Havoc are a fixture in the SPHL playoffs. The team won their first President’s Cup in 2010. And in 2018, the Havoc famously became the first fourth-seeded squad to ever win the title. They wasted no time following it up with another, when they swept the Birmingham Bulls in the finals for their second consecutive title in 2019.
The Havoc’s home rink is in the Von Braun Center, a multipurpose facility for sporting events and performing arts in downtown Huntsville. Along with the arena, the complex also features a playhouse, exhibit halls, and a concert venue that is home to the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra and once famously hosted a five-show run by Elvis Presley.

Was the first time for my two grandsons and they loved it all!! They were so excited and have played hockey for days at home. Great family memories!
It wasn't my first game but it was my girlfriends; just to watch the amazement on her face was worth it all.
great first time to a Havoc game .Definitely going back. Kid got beer dripped on his head from a intoxicated fan .been to a AHL game before and kinda found strange they let you walk around during puck in play at this event. There is no water at vendor stand which was really strange.
The havoc won and over 60k was raised for the HH NICU, so it made for a great night!
Even though they lost this game, they always put on a great show for the fans. The children are treated very special at every game.
Lots of action, hyped fans!... loved it! I would definitely go back and watch another game here
Not too shabby for hockey in the South. Teams were ok, but we originally come from Western NY where hockey is huge (our Alma mater has a division 1 team that has made it to the frozen four a handful of times.) The game was ok, but was missing the bloodthirsty action (and heckling) we are used to. The refs were sticklers and there was only one could've-been psuedo argument on the ice. Havoc did ok, (missed countless passes) and had the opponent been any sort of rival with decent training they would've walked all over us.
Havoc games are always fun, but make sure you have seats where parts of the glass don't distort what's going on during the game.
Last minute decision to go to this game. My sister, best friend, and I had so much fun
Since there are not many hockey venues in the south the Huntsville Havoc are an average team to watch live hockey. The venue however has lax seating rules and the spectators do not respect anyone else who are actually there to watch the event. A steady stream of people blocking the view of the game made the event almost un-watchable and constant complaints between reserved ticket holders with people who decided to take any open seat made the event less enjoyable. Would recommend to anyone who has an urge to see a live hockey game however will not be shelling out any more money for a hockey game where the event staff cannot control the spectators and where no one has consideration for those who might be interested in the actual event.
We had a great time for our Valentine's weekend. Thank you, Havoc for winning both games!
seats were not the best for hockey . far end of arena could not see well. suggest seats further up
Havoc lost, however the Melissa George Memorial event was a great cause. The event drew a larger crowd than normal. A somewhat subdued crowd, but nice to see attendance up.
My son and I went to this game for the first time. We weren't sure what to expect but it turned out absolutely amazing!! We will be attending more games in the future!! Seats were great and price wasn't bad!!
I would gladly recommend going to a Havoc game to any of my friends and family. It was so much fun. I went to a Nashville Predators game earlier in the year and this event totally blew them away. The atmosphere was so different, the confessions were cheap, and my seats were incredible. I was right behind the players box on the 3rd row and it was really nice being so close. Overall, this was a great night for me and my girlfriend.
It was a fun, exciting game! Will definitely go again.
The Havo where playing really well, but the amount of fighting constantly delayed the game. It got pretty lame. If you like hockey, don't go to their games, because the number of fights gets into the double digits. It's lame. If you like the idea of pro wrestling on ice or roller derby, you're down for this experience. It's shame, there was a lot of skillful play by the Havoc that was constantly interrupted by fights.
Game wasn't great because Havoc lost most of the game. Facilities were very nice though!
The game was really exciting. Being a veteran and seeing you honor the military past and present was great. Thank you!
