About

Hozier is one of the most successful folk artists of the 21st century. Born Andrew Hozier-Byrne, the Irish singer-songwriter first toured internationally as a member of the Irish vocal group Anúna before going solo in 2012. His watershed moment came a year later when his first single, “Take Me to Church” was released. In 2014, it rose to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and ushered in Hozier’s self-titled debut, which itself reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200. “Take Me to Church” closed 2014 as Spotify’s most-shared song of the year and garnered Hozier’s first career Grammy nomination for Song of the Year. His 2019 sophomore full-length, Wasteland Baby!, topped the Billboard 200 and was supported by Hozier’s first solo headlining world tour. In 2023, Hozier released his third album, Unreal Unearth. Throughout his career, Hozier has collaborated with artists such as Mavis Staples, Annie Lennox, Maren Morris, Noah Kahan, Brandi Carlile and composer Bear McCreary.

  • Awesomely Suprised

Took my daughter to her first concert to see someone who’s music she enjoys. I did not know much about him nor was I fan of his music. This man sounds better in person than any recording. He played his arse off! I agree with his social commentary and will forever put respect on his name!

  • AMAZING.

by lysia on 5/18/24Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater at Virginia Beach - Virginia BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Hozier is actually a spiritual experience. I was back on the lawn and still felt it. He’s such a good performer and so cool to watch. You can really feel how much he loves his music, and his mic was ON. He is a great singer live, sounds even better than the recordings! The lawn was awesome and it was a great time. Would go again for sure.

  • Kinks to work out

by Kermette on 5/18/24Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater at Virginia Beach - Virginia BeachRating: 4 out of 5

Hozier was great.....parking and traffic in and out as usual a total cluster, you would think all these years they work it out. Bringing your own beach chair to the lawn was a huge benefit cause these they make you rent are so uncomfortable. Probably will skip rentals. People are terrible and leave all their trash everywhere. Otherwise. Sounds great...you can see the stage well. Feels like small venue.

  • Overall awesomeness

Concert surpassed my expectations by a lot!! Great show!

  • Fantastic show

by Vabeachtennis on 5/18/24Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater at Virginia Beach - Virginia BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Hozier rocked the Virginia Beach amphitheater Wednesday night! I’ve never seen it so crowded! I’m not sure I understand the purpose behind not allowing chairs in the amphitheater this year. Is this just for revenue? I guess so… My feet are killing me from standing for 2 hours on the hill and i couldn’t sit on my towel for fear that the drunk people around me would fall on me.

  • Best concert… until leaving

by Addison on 5/18/24Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater at Virginia Beach - Virginia BeachRating: 4 out of 5

Everything was great! The lines for merch, entering, drinks, and restrooms were quick and efficient! It was easy finding my seats, and by far my favorite concert! Until it came time to leave… there was trash everywhere, and not only from people who don’t clean up after themselves. The trash cans near the exit right out of the stadiums were overflowing, and there was trash every where. There should be more trash cans. Also, leaving the venue was a nightmare… there has to be more efficient ways of leaving the venue that don’t take an hour, and more! Besides that, amazing time!

  • Better in person

by TeeGee on 5/18/24Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater at Virginia Beach - Virginia BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Hozier is one of those artist who manages to sound better in concert than he does in his albums despite being able to record multiple takes. His shows are electric and you leave feeling high from the tunes but also at peace with the world.

  • The Best Concert I’ve Ever Been To

by CW on 5/18/24Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater at Virginia Beach - Virginia BeachRating: 5 out of 5

You can feel him re-experiencing the emotion conveyed in the music, no hint of that ‘bored of singing this song again’ you see in some artists performances. The type of crowd he attracted were all lovely people. The venue was nicely laid out and comfortable with kind staff. 10/10 <3

This was such an AMAZING show. It felt so personable and hozier sounds even better live.

Hozier always brings his best and this show was beautiful beyond words.

  • Hozier was amazing, the venue was the opposite

by Elle on 5/18/24Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater at Virginia Beach - Virginia BeachRating: 3 out of 5

Hozier’s performance was incredible. He always puts on a life changing performance. The venue however was one of the worst venues I have ever been too. They clearly had no idea who Hozier was or how popular he is with the younger crowd. The lack of organization regarding wait times, lots being open, and information that was given out put fans in danger. This venue should never host another artist that is on the same caliber as Hozier. They are equipped to handle country shows and the crowd that comes with them, not the diehard fans who are willing to wait in line from 4am to doors just for a chance at front row. I will never attend another concert here and I will never recommend it because of how my safety was put in jeopardy because of overcrowding and lack of organization.

  • Best concert ever

by Mic on 5/18/24Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater at Virginia Beach - Virginia BeachRating: 5 out of 5

I would do this experience over and over! The bathroom lines were super quick, the merch lines were the fastest thing I’ve ever experienced! My sisters and I sat in the reserved lawn and the screens were perfect! It was also an added bonus that they put in the water refill stations!

  • Hozier was absolutely amazing!

by Heidster on 5/18/24Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater at Virginia Beach - Virginia BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Hozier was wonderful!! However, it being a sold out show, which I knew going into it, when I went to order an Uber at 11:00 the ubers were $77 and traffic was unbearable. I planned on getting the lawnie pass but after that experience I have decided not to. The crowds and traffic and long waits are so unfortunate for those of us looking for a safe ride. I wish there was a place for us to safely wait for traffic to die down and a ride. The night was great but ended horribly with us having to walk down to the farmers market where Ubers were $50 and we had to cross main roads with 45 mph traffic. Wish there was an Uber pick up that wasn’t so congested!

  • Immaculate Vibes

by Michaela on 5/17/24Rating: 5 out of 5

Awesome show in West Palm Beach. Lovely facility with plenty of places to pick up food and drinks. Easy parking and quickly able to get out of facility without long wait times. Hozier was spectacular. Sounds even better than in the studio somehow even while being ill. Can’t wait to see him again in KY!

  • An experience

I could watch this man sing the same songs over and over again. He and Allison were an incredible duo, and their connection with the crowd was incredible.

  • One of the best live performers ever. Amazing

Maybe this was intentional as Hozier did say he was sick, but for the life of me I could not hear him clearly. The background music was way too loud and made his voice distorted… I could not understand what he was saying. This made the experience subpar… I also did not enjoy that you couldn’t get a free cup of water anywhere… I checked with 4 different booths and all they had was liquid death…. They have no problem pouring out alcohol, but can’t offer water??

  • So awesome

by Kariam on 5/14/24MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre at the FL State Fairgrounds - TampaRating: 5 out of 5

I love love music and this was a perfect concert that literally made me want to levitate. The set list was amazing and I had so much fun. We got a lecture about bees that was really fun. Hozier was so grateful and the band was amazing. I truly had a great time.
