I always love seeing Trent play. On a NIN tour I will go to multiple shows. However, with HDA I felt once was enough. Its the equivilent of bringing your significant other to work and having your customers pay the same rate even though they lack the talent, skills, and experience that you might have or vice versa. Mariqueen isnt bad in fact she decent......she's just not not Trent. As for the light show. It better looking from a further distance. If that is what you are into, I highlly suggest not standing up close.

    Phenomenal show

by TiffLV on 4/15/13Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las Vegas

I thought the opening act (DIIV) was a terrible choice. I felt like I was watching some kids practicing in their garage in Seattle. Luckily, How to Destory Angels completely made up for it. The stage/screens were amazing! I felt like I was watching live art. The band sounded perfect. Mariqueen and Trent's voices were perfect. This concert exceeded my expectations.

    HTDA very original and entertaining

by Anonymous on 4/15/13Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las Vegas

If you are only interested in seeing Trent Reznor then I suggest you wait until he decides to do a Nine Inch Nails tour, as Mariqueen is mostly the center of attention in this show. However, most of the time the band is just silhouettes shadowed by a fuzzy tv-type background and foreground. The show is definitely entertaining musically and visually. I highly recommend it.

The FOX is a great place to see concerts.

by Device2000 on 4/15/13The Fox Theater - Pomona - Pomona

The FOX theater is a nice, smaller place. I was on floor Stage-Left. HTDA really came through on stage. The stage effects were awesome! Lights, Sound, Action was really engaging. Mariqueen was a hauntingly beautiful singer. Trent was a great wingman. His presents was noticed but he eased back to not steal the spot light. For the first concert tour this was true to the HTDA sound and vibe. If you even ljust like the albums youll love the show. Very enjoyable. All in All. HTDA is a Jewel in Tents crown of thorns. But Mariqueen is truely Diamond that shines....Device2000

Awesome show from start to finish! A feast for the eyes and ears. The light show projected in front of the band had me wrapped up.

    Something different!

by Knarf on 4/12/13The Fox Theater - Pomona - Pomona

Well for being the first show EVER for HTDA I must admit I was highly impressed. I was not sure how the band would sound live. Mariqueen sounded great, Trent ripped it on guitar and the stage show was out of this world. Definitely a pleasure to be able to see the performance before they unleashed their sets at Coachella.

    LIFE ALTERING

by awsmsce on 4/12/13The Fox Theater - Pomona - Pomona

Simply a perfect experience. Nice small venue to feel very intimate and played at a volume level that let you actually enjoy it. Trent has it 'nailed'.

Incredible Light Show and Long Set

by Emilio69 on 4/12/13The Fox Theater - Pomona - Pomona

The lighting effects were so mind blowing! They were constantly changing, you could tell that Trent and Rob put a lot of effort into it. The set was great, they probably played about 13 songs, the past 3 being from an encore. Great sound, right amount of bass for their songs. I was just lucky to be one of the first to experience it, since this was their first show ever. I highly recommend seeing them!

    Great first show!!

by v1101011 on 4/12/13The Fox Theater - Pomona - Pomona

This was the inaugural live performance for Trent Reznor's project with his wife, Mariqueen Maandig, musical collaborator, Atticus Ross, and graphic designer extraordinaire, Rob Sheridan. Rounding out the live band was Alessandro Cortini, also a member of nine inch nails' live band, on bass and keys. First and foremost, you want to see the light show. Trent and Rob really work hard to make the presentation unique and interesting. The stage was outfitted with several panels of rope-like screen which displayed visuals as well as reflected lights. It must be seen to truly grasp what all they did but it was awesome, nonetheless. Now for the actual music: HDA is much more controlled, musically, than nine inch nails live. Let's be honest, people are automatically going to compare them to nin so might as well use that for comparison's sake. HDA has Trent's sound written all over it. However, this is a good thing as most of HDA's material is much better than the last few nine inch nails albums. Since the majority of HDA's output is electronic, there is less room for human error. That does not mean it sounds like karaoke either. Many of the songs had certain sounds punched up or down in the mix for the live performance as well as some new sounds added in. On a personal level, I already enjoyed their out put, especially their first ep, but the show made me want to seek out the rest of their small body of work. Go if you like Trent's work, go if you want to see an amazing light show, go if you want to believe that Mariqueen can actual sing (She can), and most of all, go to see a good band.
