Classical Mystery Tour and the Houston Symphony put together an amazing show on July 27th at the Pavilion. Sitting in the audience with my grandson who loves the Beatles as much as I do and singing along to 'Hey Jude' - priceless moment!
The concert was delightful...energetic and fun! The symphony was their usual great performance and the "Beatles" made us all feel young again! Thanks..
The artists were excellent as well as the symphony. The only disappointment was the selection of Broadway songs. There are so many classics from over the years that I expected to hear and only 4 were familiar.
I took my 15 year old daughter to see this show because I wanted to share some local culture with her. Trust me, at first she was not at all thrilled to go, but, she is a trooper and decided to give it a chance. I’m very pleased to report that we both absolutely loved the Houston Symphony, the 3 singers and especially enjoyed the interactive experience of it all. I saw genuine happiness in my daughter I haven’t seen in her for years. Thank you for a great experience!
It’s always a treat to see the Houston Symphony perform. The music and the performing artists were exceptional. Wonderful night listening to Broadway hits!
I took my 5 year old daughter to the Houston Symphony Little Mermaid event and we all had an amazing time! There was a mermaid to take pictures with before the show, free ice cream, crafts and a hands-on experience holding and learning about instruments. As a former musician my nostalgic heart came full circle and the entire night was amazing from start to finish for us all! Please make more events like these =D
The orchestra was superb! Audience needs reminders to refrain from conversations during the performance. Even after my request to stop talking, the women behind me continued to chatter.
The Houston symphony is always a joy to see. The vocalist and lead guitarist were both excellent. Even better than expected! The venue is beautiful with great acoustics. Parking was easy to find within a short walk.
I expected to listen to the Houston Symphony acompanied by a rock band or at least a half a half protagonism. But the HS was just the back instruments (amazing) of the rock band. It was great and I enjoyed every minute, no regrets at all. But probably the communication was not the ideal one. Only in 1 song in the entire 2 hours the HS grt to play by it self and share the song.
We were seated pretty close to the from and it was so quite that we could hear everyone talking around us. Our friends in the back seats left early because it was so frustrating.
This was a fabulous show. It highlighted the versatility of the symphony through a medium I and my teen/young adult children enjoyed. Hope to see more shows like this.
First half was weak in that sound system didn’t seem balanced. Songs we didn’t know. We thought it was to be all Houston Symphony and not behind a rock band. The second half though made up for it all. Fantastic!!! All’s well that ends well.
Great Night!! The singer, the band and symphony were wonderful. So fun! Thank you. Our autistic son loves Queen. He enjoyed the concert so much!
Already love Indiana Jones and with the full Houston Symphony to play the sound was so incredible as were they. Only way to watch a movie. Thank you to the Houston Symphony for a great night!
I am not a huge classical music fan, but I am musician and there is nothing quite like seeing and hearing a professional orchestra play. I am also a movie fan which is why this concert was so appealing. In my opinion John Williams is the greatest living composer and one of the best of all time. His impact to film making cannot be over exaggerated. Just imaging Star Wars or ET without those amazing sound tracks. The Houston Symphony put on a great show, and the conductor - Damon Gupton - helped inject some comedy and interesting information on the films and music. He is a real star. All in all a great evening in one of the best open air venues you will find in the World.
Was fantastic the conductor was great he engaged the audience with trivia about John Williams
The Houston Symphony concert featuring the music of John Williams was a great show! My son and I attended and the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion was a very nice venue as well.
The Houston Symphony concert featuring John Williams was awesome! The guest conductor, Damon Gupton, was very entertaining.
Amazing mix of a great Orchestra and espectacular Frankie Moreno
