    Ballroom Thieves were amazing!!!

by SETK on 12/28/13Royale Boston - Boston

Such a unique, awesome ensemble, clearly on their way up! Also, the warmup group, Wheeler Brothers, were fantastic as well. We didn't stick around for Houndmouth - it got too late.

    Ballroom Theives amazing as usual

by TheFuz on 11/26/13Royale Boston - Boston

I went to this show as a last minute decision, driving from CT to see my new favorite band, The Ballroom Thieves. I had never been to this venue, but liked it. The room was open and I was able to enjoy the show even from the back by the bar. I was sad I couldn't go upstairs but the bottom floor was not full enough with attendees to really warrant that level to be open. We arrived late and did not see the opening band perform. Standing only two-three rows back from the stage during The Ballroom Thieves, I had a great time. As always, the Thieves were fun to watch and got me dancing. They played a couple new songs that I can't wait to be released. I stayed for most of Houndmouth. I thought the keys player had a unique voice and I wished they used her a bit more. Good set - enjoyable americana type music.

    Catch Houndmouth While You Can!

by krissychica on 11/18/13Mercury Lounge - New York

I first heard about Houndmouth when they were opening for White Denim at Brooklyn Bowl in the summer of 2013. They were one of the best opening bands I'd seen since...well, since I discovered White Denim opening for Wilco in February the year prior. (The lesson here is that if you love a band, you're likely to love the band they selected to tour with them, too. Don't go late and take the opportunity to discover new music!) I caught the first of two sold out shows at Mercury Lounge with the Wheeler Brothers opening for them. The place was packed and energy was high...this was obviously a concert for people who knew the band well and were ready for an evening of good music. Houndmouth didn't disappoint and it was evident from the moment they took the stage that they were happy to be there. The band has amazing chemistry and you can easily sense the genuineness of their friendship and mutual respect of musicianship onstage. They covered all the hits on From the Hills Below the City and threw in some new tunes, which was the only time the audience wasn't singing along. I love the versatility in this band and that there isn't just one lead singer - they pass the lead off throughout the set, which is appreciated because they all have drastically different yet equally impressive sounds. Long story short, try not to miss a Houndmouth show. Ever.

Houndmouth put on a great show

by marcus74 on 11/18/13Mercury Lounge - New York

Very talented band that sounded great. Each of the 4 members took turns with lead vocals, bass, keyboard and even drums. Mercury lounge is a great venue as well.

3 bands for $15, how can you go wrong! Houndmouth was great. The wheeled brothers lead things off with a great set. They were the surprise of the night. Nice venue. Convenient parking at garage accross the street

    Too good to get close

by plinc on 7/16/13Belle of Louisville - Louisville

Fresh from their performance on the Letterman Show, Houndmouth was everything we hoped and expected. The foursome delivered their original music for the hometown crowd with much enthusiasm and professionalism. The Belle of Louisville offered an historical, intimate venue floating in the Ohio. There in lies the rub... the "stage" was on the same level as the standing crowd. If one was not pushy and rude there was no way to see the band. It was a frustration that detracted from the concert. Houndmouth's show and music were great! The Belle is iconic. I just wish we could have seen the band.

The belle of Louisville never left the dock! Very disappointed and I drove all the way from Texas to experience a late night show!

Incredible. The Belle of Louisville is one of the most beautiful venues I've ever seen, and Houndmouth were brilliant. A grass roots folk band that screams Louisville, KY.

Houndmouth is unbelievably amazing! I just discovered who they were in March and this was my fourth time seeing them. They played Forecastle on Friday, but spending extra on the special after party on Saturday was more than worth it!!!

Authentic American Folk/Rock at Its Best

by banjobabe on 4/12/13Mercury Lounge - New York

Houndmouth is by far one of the best bands of its genre I've seen live in NYC. Their playful energy, down-home melodies, and rough-and-tumble lyrics are perfectly blended into a recipe of pure, good musical entrainment! (Not to mention that each band member has his/her very own sex appeal.) Can't wait for their first full-length album in June!
