I would highly recommend going to the original Monster Jam. Only go the the Hot Wheels if Monster Jam doesn't come to your town. It's Varsity vs JV.
When we purchased tickets we were expecting MONSTER TRUCKS! But instead we ended up with a lame version of monster trucks. We bought the tickets for our 3 kids (6, 5 and 1.5). There was way more talking than there was actual trucks on and moving. My children were bored within 15 minutes of the show starting. The most exciting part for them was when the trucks tire popped, the rest of was boring. There was no dirt, how can you have monster trucks without dirt? We won’t be purchasing tickets for this show ever again. Next time we’ll just do Monster Jam.
My little 1.5 year old and nieces 6/7 really enjoyed it! Me, id prefer to watch this show in a different venue. Venue was way to small for a show like this personally. We'll go to San Antonio next time.
This was the best experience . I brought my wife & two sons (5 & 2.5) . They had a blast. I think I had more fun than they did lol. The moody center staff was great, it was clean & comfortable. I definitely recommend this . We will be back ✊🏻!
The show was great, and kiddo loved it. We all had a great time. The only real downside is the arena just isn't big enough for an event like this. The show is very restricted compared to a larger arena.
Monster trucks were incredible. Love the motorcyclists their presentation was astonishing.
First of all the arena was way too small for this kind of event. So I'll give the drivers a pass. The hotwheels monster trucks are smaller and less powerful than the original monster trucks. With the small arena there was not enough room to do any stunts successfully. Jumps were tiny half the trucks couldn't even successfully complete a doughnut in the doughnut competition because they were afraid of hitting the walls. Over all i wouldn't go back to the hotwheels monster truck show if i got free tickets. Save your money and go to monster jam! Seriously!
This show was great for my 5-year-old! It is not as intense as the other monster truck shows (no racing, more truck skills). The hype-guy/announcer in the crowd was great. He moved around to almost every section of the arena to ask trivia questions and give out Hot Wheels toys. Megasaurus Rex was the most exciting part of the show for my 5-year-old! He watched in awe as the Megasaurs breathed fire and took care of the car. I enjoyed the show, but the area was a bit small and somewhat limited what the trucks could do vs say in an open-air football stadium arena. I would go see this show again. Bring hearing protection!
Disappointed because the venue that it was held in was to small for them to properly perform!
Too much talking and not enough action, in my opinion. I understand it was suppose to be family-oriented and the talking and interacting was suppose to be for the kids, but my whole family found it to be boring, including my four year old - especially considering the audio was so bad that you couldn’t understand what was even being said (this was commented on by other attendees as well). The action was good, albeit the arena felt much too small for such large trucks, but just wish there was more of it. Because it was set up in a competition form, there was a lot of waiting in between waiting for the trucks to get set up. Plus parking, it cost us around $150 for three and it definitely did not feel like money well spent.
I felt like the show was 75% obnoxious yelling and incomprehensible speaking and 25% monster trucks. The “stunts” were subpar and repetitive. And between each stunt was a ton of talking from the hosts. I get it is supposed to be more “kid focused” but considering you couldn’t even understand what was being said, it seemed more like a stall tactic. Plus, the little ones get restless between all of the talking. I’ve been to monster jam shows and was expecting the same type of performance from this show but sadly, these two don’t compare.
It was loud and fun as expected ,but they must have said "post to social media" over 100 times. Do your own marketing! We didn't really like the constant talking in the audience, it bored the kids and wasn't playing out as they intended. I'm sure it's just time filler, but it was too obvious. More action! Less talking!
Super fun family event! Emcees were fantastic! Definitely loud, so bring headphones, even for adults. Kids were entertained the entire show! BMX guys were a fun feature as well! Definitely will go again!
I was excited to see Monster Jam for the first time. I didn’t completely realize it was going to be a simple planned out local show on a bigger scale. It was nice to see the Hot Wheels monster trucks up close, but the competition was very lack luster. At least my 3 year old son completely loved it.
The experience was great for first timers to experience Monster Trucks, but the small arena made it to where you didn't experience enough of the Monster Trucks. Not all the monster trucks would race in each event and that was disappointing. Has great promise but get these trucks on dirt and give them space to really see what they can do
For a 2pm show, we we're forced to stand outside in the heat until 1:40 pm. This is Phoenix in August seriously uncomfortable. When they were doing stunts it was entertaining. But the host and hostess were talking so much and completely overacting. I felt as if we were at a child's event.
I took my grandson, and he enjoyed it. He particularly liked the car eating dinosaur.
First time with our grandsons ages 2 and 4. Our 4 yr old was so focus he would not eat any snacks or get up to stretch. Our 2 yr old loved the monster trucks smashing the cars. They enjoyed the dinosaur eating the car. Great seats, great entertainment.
The event itself was totally awesome and would recommend. It is LOUD! Bring ear plugs. We did but see plenty of kids without and trying to cover their ears. Overall would recommend
