Hootie & the Blowfish formed in South Carolina between four college friends in 1986. After landing on their permanent lineup of guitarist and vocalist Darius Rucker, guitarist Mark Bryan, bassist Dean Felber, and drummer Jim “Soni” Sonefeld, the group released their debut album Cracked Rear View in 1995. The album became a smash hit behind three Top 10 singles, “Hold My Hand,” "Let Her Cry" and "Only Wanna Be with You" and reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 on its way to becoming the highest selling album of 1995. Cracked Rear View, which has been certified platinum 21 times, remains one of the best-selling albums of all-time in the U.S. Hootie & the Blowfish won two Grammys, including Best New Artist, in 1996 and released their sophomore effort Fairweather Johnson later that year, marking their second No. 1 debut. Beginning in 2008, the band went on hiatus while Rucker pursued a solo career in country music, and reunited in 2019 for their sixth album, Imperfect Circle.

Last of the three nites in Columbia was the best concert! Crowd had great energy and stood for the whole show. H&TBF performed great, covered all the key songs and just played their butts off.
Hootie and the Blowfish and Barenaked Ladies gave an amazing performance. Not only did they perform all of their own songs, they did amazing covers from almost every music genre. My only regret is we went to the last show. If we had known how amazing it was, we would have gone to see them as many times as we could!
However, did not really like the unnecessary vulgar curse words.

The last performance of the Goup Therapy Tour did not dissappoint. Darius, Mark, Soney, and Dean gave everything they had and the audience was into it. The pairing with Barenaked Ladies was perfect. Great evening!
Colonial Life Arena was a great place to see Hootie and the Blowfish & the Barenaked Ladies. The show was awesome and the show was sold out for 3 shows in a row in Columbia. If they play another show in the Southeast we will be there again.

Great show! Bare Naked Ladies we’re hilarious and a great addition to the show. I loved Darius’s and Mark’s commentary and humor. The Guys sounded great and I didn’t want it to end.

What a show! Hootie and the blowfish live is a gem. It was an experience that is unmatched when it comes to live music. Their performance and energy was infectious and left me leaving wanting more. Would go again and again. Run don’t walk to see this group live!
Handsdown best concert EVER!!! Brought the crowd to their feet the entire show including the Barenaked Ladies opener! The singing surrounded by the picture staging of the group’s former years brought it back home to where it all started!!! It’s personal... they are Gamecocks! Definitely a 10 star event!!!
It was an amazing experience all around! However, I wouldn’t expect anything less with UofSC alumni managing the venue AND performing. What a special night!
Venue was great--I go to a lot of concerts--The Colonial Life Arena was perfect! Full house and no one got out of hand-security detail was on it! Sooo-with that said, enjoying the show, especially Hootie and the Blowfish as a fantastic experience! BareNaked Ladies were the opening band--what could be better! Perfect combination of talent and showmanship! I flew all the way from California to Columbia SC for this show and it was worth every penny! I will return to The Colonial Life Arena again and thank you very much for working so hard to make the show a great experience for everyone! Sound good-background photos were good-from what I could see--all the seating was good.

Long time fan of Hootie and the Blowfish. First time seeing them live. Great show. They sounded terrific and really appeared to enjoy playing together. I never listened to Barenaked Ladies much, but they were terrific! Very enjoyable evening!
