The show was good except all around us was the smell of marijuana it's sad that ones felt the need to ruin a great concert. My siste is pregnant and she was highly upset. But Adele was wonderful and I would see her at another venue.
I've been to one other concert at the Hollywood Bowl- Chris Botti- which was awesome as well, but this has to be the best concert I've ever been to. I would definitely go and see these three extremely talented and amazing performers in concert again. Loved every minute of it.

Adele put on a good show, despite forgetting her words a few time but what real (and nervous) person wouldn't in front of a crowd of thousands? I just absolutely adore her personality and her accent! Not to mention her voice is lovely! I can't stop listening to her music, it never gets old. SHE IS AMAZING and I can't wait to her her again in concert (I hope!). I wish her all the joy and success in her career. I just wish I had box seats so I could be closer to her!!!
Didn't get to watch Janelle Monae perform because we came in late. Overall, Adele was stunning and Chaka Khan gave a powerful performance. Adele forgot her lines at times, but it wasn't dissappointing because she was also stunned by the size of the audience. The only thing I have to complain about was that we were seated near some people who took the liberty of smoking weed or something of the sort.
I LoVe her!!!! She is so beautiful inside and out her voice is amazing!!! I would love to go again!!! I can't wait Haha even though she forgot her lyrics her cuteness makes up for it... =]
Janelle Monae and Shaka Khan were good performers with very strong voices but what made the night complete was Adele and her amazing voice. She is so cute,young, alive and with tons enthusiam, and to top it off she has thee most incredible voice I have heard, especially live.
It was amazing seeing the legend Chaka Khan in person. I would have paid just to see her. Adele is so personable and cute and her soulful voice moves me always. And Janelle Monae reminds me of a female version of Outkast. I love her unique style and her dance moves defintely entertain. All three performers rocked the house. I would see any of them again. Loved, loved, loved it!
It was my first time going to the Hollywood bowl. It was really nice to watch a show outside and under the stars. I was suprized how good the sound was at the bowl . Not too loud and very clear. I missed the opening act Janelle Monae. Chaka was great as always and song all of her hit. All I can say about Adele was wow. I only know here song I heard on the radio. But, she was a amazing performer. Her voice was strong and clear. She sung with no backround singers. So she had no one to hide behind so for the whole show you heard only her amazing voice.
One of the best shows i've seen at the Bowl. Wish Etta could have been there to complete the set.
This concert was billed as "Adele with Etta James" so I thought it was a collaborate deal. Only when I arrived did I learn that Adele was headlining and Etta was a warm up band. Apparently Etta took ill and Chaka Khan filled in. Chaka Khan was a welcome relief to the first band, Janelle that was just awlful. Chaka was o.k., and Adele forgot the words at least twice to her own songs. The only saving grace was the wonderful night under the stars. I love the Hollywood bowl and the "bring your own picnic basket".

I loved how Janelle sang and painted at the same time. Really enjoyed her. Chaka Khan still sounds the same. I was very exicted to hear her. I had never seen her in concert. What a great surprise! Adele, of course was the highlight. What an amazing voice! What a down to earth performer. Love her attitude, especially when she forgot her lyrics, she just started over. Goes to show she's just like one of us.
Adele did such a great job! Even though she thougth she wasn't, cause she forgot the lyrics, but that was just funny! I thought it was cute when she called her Mum. :) She has such an incredible voice. If you think she's good on CD, you'll love her even more live. I know I did! Can't wait for her next album.
This was my 2nd time seeing Adele...she is such a fantastic and giving performer! She flubbed a couple of verses from her songs, but the crowd (and I) was so forgiving, simply because of her down-to-earth, furthest thing from a Diva, performance. What a voice! And so humble and appreciative of her fans...we got to say Hi to her Mum across the pond! Chaka khan gave it her all, filling in for Etta at the last minute...she's a trooper! And Janelle--she's just wild and out there...pleasant surprise!
It was a great concert. If this same line up comes to town again I will definitely be attending!!
a PHENOMENAL singer!!!!! I bought tix for this concert to see Etta James and was quite disappointed when I learned that Etta had fallen ill and that Chaka Khan was going to perform as a substitute. However, I was pleasantly surprised and blown away by ADELE (whose work I was not familiar with) and her amazing vocals! Now, I am a bonafide Adele fan!!!
I'm giving it the 5 stars based on Adele, only. I wasn't a huge Chaka Khan fan before going to the show, but thought she did a great job, too. However, Janelle Monae, in my opinion was terrible. At the very least she needed to be opening for a different genre. Lots of people talking and getting up to get drinks or texting or what-have-you, while Janelle Monae was performing.
Overall, it was incredible! Adele is so down-to-earth! Her voice is so strong! It would have been awesome to see Etta James, but Chaka Kahn was on that night and she mixed it up pretty well!
It was the perfect night of music - young hip hop artist, wonderful rocker and a very cool young lady from the other side of the pond! I attended with my daughter and the audience was from all ages and walks of life and we had a blast! Please have Adele headline again - she is so talented and very modest.
