    Great performances!

by SARNRT on 12/10/10Alamodome - San Antonio

It was great to get to watch all of the past ice skating champions skate again. It was also kind of cool to watch how the hosts have to do "retakes" of their lines and how much involvement it took from the audience. This was a great event and for a great cause!

Johnny Weir brought the HOUSE down.

by Lindieface on 12/10/10Alamodome - San Antonio

As a longtime fan of Johnny Weir, I'd even buy a ticket to see him stand at center ice and pose. But his performance at Kaleidoscope was UNBELIEVABLE. Ave Maria was breath-taking and heartbreaking, and I would be lying if I said it didn't make me cry. Bad Romance was the other highlight of the night, and it had everyone going wild. Johnny is a true artist and performer, and San Antonio was very lucky to have him. I hope he comes back next year! LOVE HIM SO MUCH.

Too long a wait for live set up

by Bobb on 12/10/10Alamodome - San Antonio

It didn't say anything in the ads for the event that it was going to be recorded live for TV. If I had known that, I wouldn't have went. I almost walked out after I had to sit through a bunch of introductions and speeches at the beginning making the ice show start 45 minutes late. Then during the show, we were kept waiting while introductions to skaters had to be done over and over again because of flubs and wait while they were changing tape in the cameras. Overall, it was very boring with all those long waits in between the ice skating acts. I admit it was a good cause but we should have been told it was going to be an all night affair.

    Holiday Spectacular on Ice

by happyskater on 12/10/10Alamodome - San Antonio

Overall, We enjoyed the ice skaters that performed, however, the first 45 minutes of talking by the organizer was a waist of time. The announcer kept saying "only one more thing and I'll stop talking". He kept going on and on and on. We brought our school age children and had to leave even before the intermission since it was obvious that with the 45 minute introduction, we weren't going to get out before 10pm. Next time, please skip the introductions and concentrate on what the public paid money to see!

Good show. I did not know it was being prepared for television and it was fun to see how it is done. Do overs take a long time so I wish had known about the timing. As always Johnny Weir was my favorite especially his Ave Maria. I want to go next year and take a friend along. I hope I can get the same seats. Our tickets said no cameras or video so I left my camera at home. At the show others were using flash cameras. I can take photos without flash but I went along with the rules. Either don't say no cameras or enforce the rule.

    Quite a few do-overs...

by MrsCinderella on 12/10/10Alamodome - San Antonio

Since the show was being taped for television, there was a lot of dead time between performances, and there were a lot of do-overs (but we got more show for our buck that way!). The talent was wonderful, and Scott Hamilton has a great sense of humor! I'm looking forward to seeing the program air on Fox on December 19th.

This was a great event except that when they had intermission that all concession stands were closed. Since this happen we had to leave without seeing the last paret of the event since we were hungry, next time have them open past intermission then close the concession stands. The seats a very snug a as a person that is 6'6" if anyone would have been sitting in front of me I wouldn't been able to sit during the event.

Waiting for things to start was AWFUL

by JoeMudd on 12/10/10Alamodome - San Antonio

I LOVED ALL the skating ... Scott Hamilton was hysterical .... the show itself was absolutely amazing :-) .......... BUT Show began 30 minutes later than expected and then the talking went on forever at the beginning of the show .... my little 4 year old couldn't hardly stand still and then she ended up falling asleep at the end. We didn't stay past the last skate ... although it sounded like there was more going on ... it just ran soooooooooo late ....

Holiday Spectacular on Ice was Magical

by vlandman on 12/10/10Alamodome - San Antonio

Great Holiday Show...finally saw many skaters I had cheered on for many years. Sound system was great, singers Gloria Gaynor and David Archuletta were terrific. Realize only holiday exibition, but wish skaters had done more "jumps".

Great event for a great cause! Lots of the world's top figure skaters, including Olympic medalists and national & world title holders... it was a great experience just getting to see them perform live. The singers, David Archuleta, Gloria Gaynor, and the saxophonist/singer (forgot his name) did great. I really enjoyed Kurt Browning's emotional performances, but Johnny Weir stole the show! He was AWESOME. I highly recommend this for figure skating fans, but those who appreciate performing arts will enjoy it as well.

    Kaleidoscope

by MamaBexar on 12/10/10Alamodome - San Antonio

Most ice shows consist of people who know how to ice skate get dressed up in Disney costumes. This show was much more. It was a chance to see Olympic skaters (past and present) do solo numbers. Add great music and you have Kaleidoscope.

The ice skating was spectacular!!!!! The entire production was very professionally done. The scenery was attractive and the lighting was very good. The skating stars were top notch and engaging. I could not have a picked a better gift for a relative who I took to the show as a birthday present. My only complaint was that I was unable to take advantage of handicapped parking( my relative was in a wheelchair) because we came only a half hour before the scheduled start of the show. The spaces for the handicapped were all filled.

    Kaleidoscope was amazing!

    by Destiny757 on 12/10/10Alamodome - San Antonio

This was an awesome event for a wonderful cause. It was certainly well worth the ticket price. We got much more than we were expecting. I can't wait to attend the show next year!

    A bit slow and repetitive

by Zantes on 12/10/10Alamodome - San Antonio

I had wonderful seats close to the action but the whole show put me to sleep. Some were very good, singers especially, but the show lacked a unity. I saw a better show on ice on my last Cruise. Sorry.

    the show was average

    by maruca1 on 12/10/10Alamodome - San Antonio

i went with my kids to entertein them, but when i got there, they were recording for a tv show, so it was like skating and then wait 10 minutes for the next skater, i think they need to say to the public that, they gonna make a show tv, because all the kids on the audience, had to leave early becuase they got bored, of listening to people talk, its good show, if you go alone and wanna hear people intested of ice skating.

    Kaleidoscope is a MUST see!

    by Sk8Coach on 12/10/10Alamodome - San Antonio

I had a spectacular time! It's definitely a great show for those interested in figure skating. It was neat to be part of a future television broadcast (this one will be televised on Dec. 19), but for those who get impatient and want the skating immediately and back-to-back, sometimes you have to wait for the tapes to be changed and the redos to be done... Great lineup of skaters; hopefully they'll have a nice diverse group like that in future shows. Definitely got my money's worth, especially because the show extended more than three 1/2 hours. Of course, if that's not your style, you'll be leaving like half the audience did by the "end" of the show when retakes were done.

    Disappointed!

    by CZ79 on 12/10/10Alamodome - San Antonio

Skaters were excellent! Program very poorly organized. Started 15 minutes late. The master of ceremonies spoke far too long. His introductions should have been more concise. Scott Hamilton and Dorothy Hamill were delightful.
