  • Great game in a better venue

by Plandude on 1/1/25Snapdragon Stadium - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

Very nice medium sized venue that made attendance a pleasure. Easy to tailgate, which is getting harder to find. We have mobility disabilities, and Snap Dragon does a good job of meeting our needs; physically, policies, and very helpful staff. Really look forward to the next Holiday Bowl at Snap Dragon!

  • less than stellar

by jdos on 12/31/24Snapdragon Stadium - San DiegoRating: 3 out of 5

22 players and a coach from Wash State opted out prior to the game. College football needs players and coaches comitted to the game. I previously had annual seats to the Holiday Bowl. Jack Murphy/Qualcomm did a great job with the teams and filling the building. Previously was always entertaining and a great experience for myself and family. This years event left much to be desired. After a ONE HOUR first quarter (primarily due to commercials and station breaks) the game lost all flow. Stands were approx 60% full and just a very disappointing experience overall.

  • Where was everyone?

by P Parks on 12/30/24Snapdragon Stadium - San DiegoRating: 3 out of 5

We have been attending the Holiday Bowl games since the mid 80's. I have to say, this was the smallest attendance we have ever seen! We think splitting the venue between downtown and Snapdragon Stadium was a bad idea. Petco has rocked the Holiday Bowl for the past two years. So much activity, so much to do, everything downtown. Just a much better experience. We stayed at the Town & Country this year since it would be close to Snapdragon. Loved the hotel! It was basically empty. We truly expected it to be packed! Anyway, either bring it back to Petco (our vote), or bring all the events to Mission Valley. The planners of Snapdragon missed the mark when it came to potential development. Other than that, we had a great time!

  • Many of the bowl games have met the portal.

by Fred on 12/30/24Snapdragon Stadium - San DiegoRating: 3 out of 5

Empty stadium. Not sure if the selected teams don't travel well or if the low seeds are the reason. Expected a early dominance of Syracuse due to WSU missing players, but the game was a high scoring fun game. Not sure if the Holiday bowl will survive if the NCAA can't get a grip on the players participation with post season. We are all left with an unknown. We don't get to see the starters in many of the bowl games, and when you have teams on the lower or no ranking, as is the case with the Holiday bowl, then the game can be subpar. My familly has enjoyed the Holiday bowl for many years. Qualcomm games were amazing, we higher ranking teams with most players in the game. See you next year. I might wait to buy my tickets on game day to get a good deal. Resale prices went low.

  • Excellent job

Excellent work organizing this event. Bringing the Holiday Bowl to Snapdragon stadium was a great idea. This is where it belongs. There isn’t a bad seat in the stadium.

  • Good game!

Good game lots of offense, but with the Cougars without their starting QB just couldn't hang.

  • Better job of covering the halftime show

by Rob on 1/1/24Petco Park - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

Two our our kids were performing as part of the halftime show. It would have been appreciated if the schools (and other youth groups performing) had been recognized by name by the announcers and on the screens. They had all been at a very cold, very long practice the night before after a very long bus ride--their contributions should have been more thoughtfully recognized. The camera work should have covered all of the participants and we're told by other family and friends that the broadcast didn't even include the halftime show?!! Ugh... The game itself and the other aspects (military skydivers, fireworks, flyovers) were all really impressive.

  • Holiday Bowl 2023

by So Cal Fam on 12/31/23Petco Park - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

Petco should not have held this event with construction going on. We didn’t get the same pre-game experience as before! They promised Sea World tickets and didn’t have them at the gate we entered. Should have been a warning that our seats were next to the band!

  • Amazing fireworks

by Fernie on 12/31/23Petco Park - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

I really loved the fireworks show, my first time going to this , the only hiccup was that they could not find the key to open the locks to open the gates by gaslamp entrance, so we had a short delay, other than that, it was amazing
