Great game!! Bands were outstanding! Halftime show was better than usual. This is our ninth visit to the Bowl. Planning on buying tickets for December 2013 game!

Great venue for the game. Now if UCLA had just shown up to play . . .

  • Good game. Bad environment

Game was good. Parking sucked. Tailgating was 'ghetto'. LA fans were obnoxious.

  • Good game,

I love that one local team got to play, too bad it wasn't more competitive. The one not so great aspect is that regular UCLA home games have better tail-gate and pre-game events that what was offered at the Q.

  • Holiday Bowl

The game was almost as good as expected, this of course will change depending on the teams each year. The venue was very good. The seats were good. Food and Drink prices were rediculusly high, 24 ounce soft drink $11.00. The city made arrangements for the San Diego train trolly system and had plenty of trains going back towards the city and hotels. For 45,000 plus attendees the time from the seats back to my drop off station was less than 30 minutes.

  • Fun time

Great game! Fun time with family! We had good seats but don't think I will sit at field level again.

  • Yikes!

Worst Holiday Bowl game ever with two teams which seemed as though they didn't want to be there.

  • Not a Holiday Bowl

by chipinsd on 12/30/11Qualcomm Stadium - San DiegoRating: 1 out of 5

Well I had look forward to seeing two new teams in my hometown of SD. I was greatly disappointed to the outcome and the way the event proceeded. Not only were both teams terrible, it was the game that would not end. Every time there was a break in the action (and with 16 punts & 5 turnovers) ESPN used the chance to have a commercial and the local planners used to promote their own products (Qualcomm & Bridgepoint). I felt like the game was an after thought. The fans were bored & though it wasn't outrageously cold, it was enough to make this situation uncomfortable. Can you believe with a team on the one yard line to score they decided to use the field for a Dr. Pepper throwing contest. Very poor judgement. Very poor planning. Very bad game.... I paid a good price for this event. Better to see it in a nice restuarant and have the commentators lie to be about how great a game it was. NOT !!!!

  • Holiday Bowl one of season's best games!

by BlackGriz on 12/30/11Qualcomm Stadium - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

Not just the on-field action - But great pre-game entertainment, an incredible halftime show, and two programs with long traditions of success (and great bands!!)

Seating was ok, but was under a balcony abd could not see scoreboard. The concession was very high priced, $5.75 for a pop you can buy elsewhere for less than $2. The game was good, but again the prices are for the rich, not the teams fans.

  • saw it in 2006

by hawkeyegrad on 12/30/10Qualcomm Stadium - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

I did see the Holiday Bowl, but in 2006. First time I ever attended a bowl game. Enjoyed the parade the day of the game, reminded me of the thanksgiving parade with all of the balloons. caught a foam football thrown into the crowd. would have preferred a closer game, as Cal-Berkeley thumped Texas A & M 45-10, halftime score was 14-10. Since then I have seen one other bowl game, 2 years later, the Outback Bowl in Tampa. My school, Iowa, was playing there, and beat South Carolina.
