I would go out of my way to see it again! Fabulous dancing and vocals and the band was superb! GO!
We were so amazed and absorbed in the show it flew right by!! Could not believe 2+ hrs could go so quickly!!
This is an evolution of Irish dance to include a flavor of the world in a very interesting way. You will not want to leave your seat. There is an ingenious balance of loud and quiet, action and quietude, dance and music and vocals in a glorious display of talent. I can't recommend this show highly enough!
Show was excellent! Not one dull moment!! Loved it!!!
I found Hearbeat of Home to be a poor follow up to Riverdance. The injection of modern dance felt awkward. In addition, it seems that the "stars" were different than those seen on the PBS special or advertised. Loved the band!
Most enjoyable. The different types of dancing were well done. Singing and the band were also wonderfully performed.
Having seen Riverdance, several times, we looked forward to Heartbeat. The dancing is excellent but it was difficult to follow the flow of the play, since there was no narration, during the performance. Riverdance flowed so much better, since the narrater explained the movement of the play but nothing is said during Heartbeat.
I felt like there was more singing then dancing, I wanted to see a step dance show not some weird dance, no I wouldn't go to another one.. Just wasn't what I thought it would be
We were excited to experience "Heartbeat of Home" after seeing the behind-the-scenes Public Television program, and not having seen "Riverdance." It seemed that there was going to be more of a mix of styles of dancing. The dance company, musicians, and vocalists were excellent, but the show was mainly Irish step dancing with few other things added. We expected more Latin, Caribbean, etc. And we were also expecting to see the iconic visual of the bird and dancers used on the posters and t-shirts. It never appeared. We're not quite sure how the run sold in Boston. One usher said it sold well, except for the last night (our night), but another said the whole 2 weeks sold poorly. I hope it does well.
I went with my 80 yr old mother and my 14 yr old daughter and her friend. Everybody loved the show! We especially enjoyed the silliness at the end. It really made the audience feel that they were part of some inside joke shared by the band and cast. The dancing was crazy good and gave the step dancing girls something to aspire to. My husband and son did not attend, but they would have enjoyed the show as well.
Having seen Riverdance 3 times I was so looking forward to seeing Heartbeat of Home. I was not disappointed! I would see it again!
I have seen many shows but this is the best by far! Dancers were phenomenal and the energy they brought to the crowd was something to experience.
This was one of the most incredible shows I have ever seen! The amazing talent of the cast and crew is phenomenal! A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that should not be passed up!
I had never been to a "River Dance" performance so had nothing to compare this to. It was just plain OUTSTANDING! The first half of the show was over before we even knew it and while you may think that the second half would be slower, that was not the case. I cannot give enough stars for this show. We went on the last Sunday matinee - had we gone earlier in their schedule, we would have come back for a second time. Will definitely return when they come back to Boston on their next tour. BRAVO!
Heartbeat of Home is simply amazing! I would go see it again. I loved it! Recommend to all
Using the dancing style made popular in Riverdance, this production uses that as a foundation to expand to other styles (e.g. Latin) and, for the most part, it works very well. It did have a bit of a "work-in-progress" feel to it (a feeling reinforced by the director coming out before the show started to discuss it). I also liked that the band came to the forefront from time to time, as they were a spirited and talented group. All in all, a great show and a real crowd-pleaser!
Terrific show. loved the combination of music and dances. Band particularly the drummer were awesome.
I'm often bored by dance performances, but this one was amazing! Never a dull moment and quite impressive!
I cannot say enough about this show! Maybe I am biased because I have always been such a Riverdance fan, but this new show is every bit as fabulous as its predecessor. From start to finish, my husband and I were mesmerized by the dancing and singing. The quality of the dancing is second to none and the enthusiasm of the cast is infectious. I cannot wait until the show returns to Boston and give Heartbeat of Home the biggest recommendation I can!!
