Fantastic show!! Perfect mix of humor, social commentary and intelligence. Absolutely loved every moment!
Our event (Hasan Minhaj: King Jester) which was located at Music Hall at Fair Park in Dallas was scheduled to begin at 9:30pm. The fact that traffic to get into the venue was backed up for over an hour because there was ONLY ONE Staff taking money for entry into the event parking lot. Then the single line to get into venu back up for over a mile. There was literally NO organization from the venu for ticket holders to get safely into the venue in a organized and timely manner!!! Once into the venue, ticket holders had to get in another line (really a mob…not much of a line) for a table to LOCK DOWN ALL phones before interning the venue!! It was crazy! The event started about 2 hours after scheduled start time! Much needed organization needed for ticketed evens at Music Hall at Fair Park!
There should be a better process in scanning the tickets & having all of the phones locked up. It was very chaotic and unorganized! It took over 1/2 hr or more to just get through and go to our seats. There should be multiple Ushers working with multiple lines to scan the tickets & then locking up the phones. And when unlocking the cases for the phones, ushers should be at each row of the venue & as you leave your seat your phone gets unlocked. No chaos & simple easy process to leave the venue. Very frustrating!
This is my second Hasan show that I've gotten to see in Dallas. His performance was everything I had waited years for and I was so happy that a much larger venue was booked for this show. From my first experience, I knew that there were two separate lines for printed tickets and for electronic tickets, so I had both ready. Ended up using the mobile check-in and the paper tickets worked great for handing to the usher as we were finding our seats. From that first show and from plenty of comments on IG, I knew that we would be checking our phones into locked cases. All of this was fine BUT for a first-time guest, it could have been very confusing because there was no signage defining what each line was for. There were people who were preparing to go through the metal detectors who had to be sent back over to the phone check area, etc. Fortunately, the attendees were orderly and the information spread via word-of-mouth through the jumbled lines so that people eventually figured out what they needed. Even with the crowd, the employees of the venue handled the group beautifully and even with the confusion, it didn't actually slow anyone down. My takeaway is that signage would have helped greatly in this situation. Overall, an absolute delight of a performance and a relatively smooth check-in process that could have been slightly improved. Can't wait for the next one!
I cried laughing. Hasan is an artist that mixes comedy with phenomenal story-telling capabilities. It gets quiet and he can hold the attention of the entire room while he delivers his next punchline. The last show I watched before this was Chapelle and Minhaj holds his own amongst the comedy goats.
His comedy is refreshing. Its a perfect balance politics, economy and Indian dad jokes.
Hasan Minhaj is the boss! What a wonderful story full of ups and downs. Definitely worth watching. Can't wait for the special to come out on Netflix!
The actual show was amazing. Hasan is a great entertainer. Getting into the venue was a whole other story. Parking was a mess, lines were extremely long. People were running mob style towards the entrance. Event Staff were unorganized and not trained. We spent a lot of money on this event and expected a smoother and more streamlined method of entering and exiting the venue.
Amazing!! I am so glad that he was on Indian time because we were going to be late. Fair Park was not a bad place to host it. Loved his authenticity and the entire performance.
I liked the show. I'm supporting of leaning into your background for stories but when it get super preachy and judgy thats when i bow out. I liked Patriot Act more than his stand up. Was too animated and some of it wasn’t believable. Still a great job. Some jokes were on point and relatable
He is the best. Incredible experience getting a behind the scenes look into what was happening during his time on Patriot Act and gaining world wide fame.
Show started late which really penalizes those that make arrangements to show up early. Material was good; however, some points during the show got very real. Would have liked to see more of the screen used. Overall, good not great. Missed our dinner reservations due to running late..
There was no crowd control to give a smooth entry. After lining up and waiting 40 minutes past showtime, the crowd at the back of the line surged forward cutting off those of us waiting. Those without paper tickets had to stop to get another ticket holding up entry further. There was no way to get the mandatory phone pouch without then having to push through the crowd again to get out. By the time we got into our seats, the show had already started. We were there and in line 30 minutes before show time. No excuse for the failure of this venue management.
The locking of the phones is simply not safe. We have children, other potentially important urgent responsibilities. What if there was a sudden life threatening emergency in the building and I got seperated from my wife?! You cannot take someones phone away from them like that. Or hasan minhaj will be liable
First, the second show at 9:30 started over an hour late. One loooong line to get in. Then they locked away our phones. No way to check on our kids or let them know that we are going to be very late because of late start of the show. We were in the PIT section and sound was muffled and lot of echo. I even walked back to see where it sounded better, and only the half back of the auditorium you can hear without echo. Opening acts, I couldn't make what they were saying because they help mic so close to their mouth. With Hasan, I could hear about 60% of the time by paying close attention. By the time show was over, I walked out with a headache. I'm sure Hasan's material was good, but if you can't hear, what's the point. They made sure we can't use our phone or record, but they didn't make sure we can actually hear it. Worst show I been too.
Hasan's comedy is an art. The visuals and timing, the sincerity and satire, all of it just feels like the highest level possible. I was laughing so hard at some points all that was coming out was squeaks, but I also had tears come to my eyes at a number of moments! Excellence.
We laughed our butts off! What a show! My cousin and I had the best time. Can’t wait to catch again on his next tour!! 🗡🗡🗡🍑#iykyk 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Started 1 hour late for a 1030 late night. Openers for the show got more laughs than Hassan Minaj. Needs to tone down his political. Saudi, family problems and focus on comedy. ThankYOU.
There was a parking debacle, the access to the venue was terrible, not sure what the problem was, it took us 45min from the highway access to the parking entrance, it’s was confusing and frustrating and to top it off everyone needed to have their phone put in a no-access case. Show ended up starting 1 hour later so almost a midnight start. Comedians put on a good show but my expectations were definitely higher.
The show itself is excellent, however the Venue needs to have some arrangement for the Traffic influx. It was backed up quite significantly and this caused significant delays. Also there was no clear line to get inside was just chaos. They locked your phones but give you a small piece of paper with your seat number on it, the person who locked our phones forgot to give it to us and after tracking her down had to unlock and then get the info and relocation. Process and logistics needs to be better organized. Hasan Minhaj was amazing, very poignant and relevant in addition to the the great comedy
