I had a great time. my husband and I arrived when the doors opened at 3 pm and saw all the acts from Holly to Justin to Keith to good ol' Hank and even stayed for Halfway to Hazard after almost everybody else left. It was a constant drizzle, but it was worth it standing in the rain for almost 9 hours. One suggestion, though. Don't mark rows and seats on the concrete in chalk. Luckily for us, because we got there early, the markings were still on the ground so we knew we were definitely in the right seats. But it wasn't fun arguing with people as they came later and the markings had all been washed away. The usher also didn't know that our section had started with row 2 instead of row 1 until I pointed it out ot him, so he kept seating people in the wrong place.
As always Hank put on a great show. The only down side to the show was the weather.
I really love Hank! The only thing that was disappointing was the V.I.P. You pay over $100 and are supposed to get free stuff..... The T-shirts they gave us was crap. They didn't even mention Red, White & Boom. They were 98.1 the Bull T-shirts. The needed to have portapotties up close to the V.I.P. You had to walk all the way back. Also, when they threw out t-shirts they didn't even come up to the front, they stayed in the back. I just think they should have done better w/ the V.I.P. tickets.
Hank always puts on an awesome show whenever, whereever he plays! This was my husbands 4th Hank concert, my 2nd and I can't wait to see him again! I surprised my husband and bought "good" seats, much better than what we usually spend and was about 7th row. Money well spent! It was great!!
Come rain or shine, the legend won't let you down. Hank's concert is always what Dixie delivers, a great time. People came as far as the Kentucky/Virginia border to see the man thats belongs to Dixie. The man answers the call, need we say more. A great time and on the Nation's birthday to boot. All in all, if you missed it, we drank a beer for you.
It rained all day but who cares. Rain, beer, Hank = GOOD TIMES!
Would have been a whole lot better if he would of played all of his own music or even his dad's music instead of ZZ TOP,AREOSMITH,or CHARLIE DANIELS don't get me wrong i like their music ,BUT WHEN THEY SING IT!
THIS WAS A GREAT SHOW THE UP AND COMING JUSTIN MOORE KICK SOME TAIL YOU NEED TWO WATCH THIS GUY HE IS REAL GOOD HIS CD COMES OUT IN AUGUST I AM A BIG HANK JR FAN AND I WAS BLOWN AWAY HE IS BETTER NOW THEN I HAVE SEEN IN ALONG TIME HE LOOK LIKE HE HAD FUN AND ENJOYED HIMSELF AND HE DID IT BOCEPHUS STYLE IT WAS AWSOME
I am a huge Hank Jr. fan , and as always he showed his amazing talent! Despite the rain it was a wonderful show. I also love the new and up coming band Half Way to Hazard! Can't wait to see who we get to come next year!!!!!
Seen him several times before and this ranks up there with one of the best Great little venu
Despite the constant rain, the fourth of July was a Blast!!! The entertainment was great and the beer was cold. There was everything anyone needed - ponchos, food, and alcohol, and plenty of porta-potties. The music was so good it made you forget you were standing in a downpour. Hank was the best, of course. All the others were great too. Hope to get to go next year. It's worth the wait through the traffic at parade time and the $5.00 poncho.
Other than the rain, all the bands were awesome. Justin & Hank Jr were my favs.
The music was good..Hank did a great job! However, don't rely on the internet to tell you what you are allowed and not allowed to take into the concert. Apparently communication between the radio station and Lexington Center is extremely poor because online okayed duffel bags, but when we got to the concert, they refused to let us in. The ticket takers were extremely rude and even cussed at us. I have never witnessed such unprofessional and childish workers at an event. Normally Lexington Center has a good staff, but because of the man and woman who treated us so badly, I will never again go to an event that is affiliated with them.
It was a great event, even tho it rained. only complaint is online it said no umbrella's and lots of people had them. If I had known I would have taken one too!
I Hated the rain, it sucked, it even made me wake up with a sore throat, but after watching Hank Willims Jr. perform on that stage I would do it all over again. Hes wonderful, spirited and very funny. I love him and recomend everyone to come out and see him if given the chance to.
I feel the band, Halfway to Hazard, was much more entertaining than Hank. It was a shame they put them on after the fireworks when so many people had gone home. They should have been the headliner band by far!!! Such energy, great songs, stage presence, voices blended into beautiful harmony and they compliment each other so well!! I was so impressed with this band and am looking forward to their new single coming out on the 20th of July. I would highly recommend this act and this event to my friends.
We had a great time, the music was great despite the rain!!!!!! Definately a great deal
other than the the rain and the lake of coffee its the greatest show ive been to every performer put on on heck of a show and i will be back next year too,by the way this was my fisrt time and i will be back and ill have a crew in tow when i come see u nex yr.
I enjoyed listening to his daughter and ex-wife singing. Justin Moore was good. Kieth Anderson was great. BOCEPHUS IS PHENOMENAL!!! If You've never seen him live, you're missing quite a show.
