by disgruntled on 7/5/09Rupp Arena - LexingtonRating: 3 out of 5

  • I will NEVER go back!

    by Disappointed2009 on 7/5/09Rupp Arena - LexingtonRating: 1 out of 5

I hated this years event. This makes my second year attending, and it will be my last. It wasn't the rain so much, as it was the fans. EVERYONE there was drinking, I even thought I saw minors drinking. And then, I got reserved seating in ROW 1, right in front of the stage. However, after I got in, my ticket got wet; and as soon as I'd got up to get myself a beverage, someone took my seat. Then, when I came back with security to retreive the seat that was properly mine, they couldn't give it back. Because my ticket was wet, and smudged so you couldn't see the seat #, and the folks in my seats were drunk as could be; and the security woman said there was nothing she could do about it. And then, what I really hated was the scheduling of it all. Halfway to Hazard, was set to go dead last, which was the main reason I went. They were behind all of the other acts, even the fireworks. So, when the fireworks was over, I had to leave. I parked very far away, and a policeman said he would give me an escort if I would've left right then. So I did. And I'm highly disappointed. Not to mention, I'm horribly sick, from all of the rain, and coldness. Next year, they could at least put up a tent, for the fans who paid lots of money.

  • Hank Jr.was outstanding

by rayne on 7/5/09Rupp Arena - LexingtonRating: 4 out of 5

Halfway 2 Hazard was just great, wish they played ealier and longer they were full of energy and really worked the crowd. (it was a shame that 1 of the best shows of the night played at the end after people were leaving)

  • Whole show was great!

by Edna on 7/5/09Rupp Arena - LexingtonRating: 4 out of 5

The show was thoroughly entertaining. The only complaint I have is about the 45 minute break between every performer. I feel this was totally unnecessary and the time between each could have been only about 20-30 minutes.

  • no goodbye?

by wkugirl on 7/5/09Rupp Arena - LexingtonRating: 3 out of 5

i had a blast even in the typhoon. i can not believe that Hank didn't play a single new song!!! i was shocked and saddened. he didn't even tell the audience goodbye. wtf moment 2009

Hank WIlliams, Jr always puts on a great show. He is a great performer who came from a legacy and has created his own.

  • Keith Anderson was the greatest!

by kimt on 7/5/09Rupp Arena - LexingtonRating: 3 out of 5

It rained ALL day which meant could not take any pictures but only reason I went was to see Keith Anderson and he was amazing!! Was not happy with the prices of tickets this year they were too high and it really showed in how many people were there. Usually it is packed and there was lots of empty seats and the general admission area was almost empty and it is usually packed. Maybe they will change the prices back since it didn't go so well this year!! But overall Keith Anderson was great and that made me happy! Didn't stay and watch Hank Williams Jr so I don't know how his performance was!!

  • Red White & Boom 2009

    by gmb58 on 7/5/09Rupp Arena - LexingtonRating: 4 out of 5

I only saw two acts, Keith Anderson & Hank Williams, Jr. I had two young teen boys with me so they wouldn't have lasted through the entire showing. Great show. The only problem is the closer you are to the stage (section B, Row 14), the harder it is to appreciate the actual music and artist's talent because it is so loud. The further one is, the better I think. Anyway, even with the rain, it appeared everyone was having a good time! The last act, I believe was scheduled too late. We didn't stay due to an hour drive home. I would have liked to have heard them play.

  • hank jr was great

by babe on 7/4/09Horseshoe Southern Indiana - ElizabethRating: 4 out of 5

hank jr was great but for the price of the tickets I would have thought the concert would have lasted longer than two hours and beer for a 16oz can was $6 and that is a little crazy too

  • Hank does an awesome show !

The music sounded great. The venue is small, almost all seats have a good view.

  • Hank is Better Than Ever!

by BUDCAT on 7/4/09Horseshoe Southern Indiana - ElizabethRating: 5 out of 5

Great show! Sound perfect, venue great! I've seen Hank more than 20 times over the past 20 years, and he is as better than ever this year! The Horseshoe Casino Outdoor stage was also a very good place to see show.

  • Hank does it again.

by BeamFan on 7/4/09Horseshoe Southern Indiana - ElizabethRating: 5 out of 5

Hank puts on an incredible, high energy show. Horseshoe casino put on a wonderful production for an outdoor concert. This was the best show I've been to yet.

  • Hank - living history

by shedskin on 7/4/09Horseshoe Southern Indiana - ElizabethRating: 4 out of 5

Hank Williams Jr. takes an opportunity every concert to tell the story of his raising. The fathers rock and country have all shown the tricks of their trade to Hank Jr. In turn, everybody who sees Hank reaps the benefits. He can do boogie, country, shuffle, rock, and blues with the best of them. What's most interesting is how he finds his true self in the middle of all these influences. Highly recommended - If he comes to your neck of the woods, don't miss it.

Great show, he did not miss a beat. Seen Hank many times and this was the best show ever

  • Greatest concert ever

by princess on 7/4/09Horseshoe Southern Indiana - ElizabethRating: 5 out of 5

OMG. Hank Jr put on such a great show. We were on the second row, but he rocked out. He might be older, but he really put alot of the younger new singers to shame. I have been to several concerts over the years and seen several perfomers. Hank has been by far the best that I have seen in a long time.

  • Bocephus is still the man!

    by Amanda0831 on 7/4/09Horseshoe Southern Indiana - ElizabethRating: 5 out of 5

It was absolutely fantastic! I have never seen him before, but I tell you, I'll definitely see him again whenever he comes back down here. What a way to start off a Fourth of July by jamming with Hank!
