HAMILTON is the story of America then, told by America now. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway, HAMILTON has taken the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton and created a revolutionary moment in theatre--a musical that has had a profound impact on culture, politics, and education.
With book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, HAMILTON is based on Ron Chernow's acclaimed biography. It has won Tony®, Grammy®, and Olivier Awards, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and an unprecedented special citation from the Kennedy Center Honors.

Hamilton is a remarkable work. Wanted to immmediately see it again, as there is too much to take in with a single experience. I plan to continue my association with the production by going over the lyrics, which were too fast and too many to take in entirely, although it was not difficult to follow the plot and experience the emotional content. Would also like to have the opportunity to focus on the choreography, in addition to the main characters. Bravo!
Hamilton was even more incredible than I expected! I would love to see it again. The soundtrack is amazing.
So much hype, such high expectations...but, yes, we thought Hamilton is deserving of it all.
Yes, it's awesome, that's been determined. But here are a few recommendations. DO NOT take your young children to see this (even if your tickets were $10 each) unless : They're able to understand Macklemores songs They're at least 13 years old and able to sit still for 2 plus hours You've taught them who Alexander Hamilton is They've learned about our Founding Fathers, The Constitution, The Federalist Papers, The US Treasury, and they have some idea about who George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and the King of England are! I consider myself pretty smart, over 50 years old, and LOVE Broadway musicals, but it was finally after the 2nd time I saw it in March that I was able to hear, follow along, understand, and therefore enjoy it thoroughly. I watched too many young children wiggling in their seats and I was thinking, "I'm sure they're not understanding any of this". That said, the singing was some of the best I've ever heard in a Broadway show. The costumes, dancing, and visual artistry were worth even not understanding the whole story. And the humor in the way he wrote this play is to be commended!! I recommend reading up on Wikipedia, at least, and buying the soundtrack to memorize before spending all the money to see this gem!
It was so much fun to see the history of this country portrayed in this play. The music was modern, and the singing was amazing. It appeals to folks of all ages. I saw gray haired grannies bobbing their heads to the music! And the Paramount Theater is a gem! Who could ask for anything more?
My friend and I loved the show from beginning to end. It was fast paced, engaging and intelligent. The cast was great. Great voices, great choreography and just a great play. I had very high expectations because I've seen some work from the original cast, I was not let down. The traveling group did an exceptional job. The theater is a beautiful building, with nice acoustics. The stage was easy to see from any seat.
Fantastic songs, dances and history lesson. Love love loved it.
We got two sets of tickets when they went on sale. The first set were terrible seats so we tried again and got floor seats. We talked about selling the bad seats but figured we'd decide after we saw the first show. The first show was so good we decided to go to the second show. Even in the bad seats in the second show were incredible because instead of looking at the small details we focused on the lighting effects and musicality more. If I could, I would watch this again! I love this script, music and the actors did an amazing job! I'm hoping a DVD of the show is released in the near future so I can watch it again and again.
I would like to see this 8-10 more times to catch all the stuff I missed. Amazing writing, production, acting/singing. GO SEE IT.
What an amazing show! The music was great, everyone's voices were incredible. Loved hearing the story of one of our lesser known founding fathers. The king was the best!
God bless Lin-Manuel Miranda, heranks with Puccini . A concept and thought that is marred by the worst theater in the city. I am aghast that the Seattle Opera did not see fit to procure the production or even the Seattle Symphony as they have the tax payers money funding a acoustically correct seat. I am sorry that I paid ticket master huge sums of money , the service charges alone will mean no cafe ladro for a month. Spend the money and go o NYC or Chicago as the piece deserves better. Go east for the show .
INCREDIBLE, just truly an awe inspiring musical. Every detail was meticulously thought out.
Very Wry and upbeat! :-) Best show evah! Seriously don't miss this show.
This was hands-down one of the best shows we've ever seen, and we were entertained and engaged the entire time. We're completely obsessed with the music and cast after having seen the show - go see this show!
It was phenomenal. It lives up to the hype, and more. I laughed and cried. Very intense show. Highly recommend!
My husband and I attended “Hamilton” the musical last Sunday evening and were overjoyed with the energetic performances of the very talented cast in the majestic Paramount Theater. The three hours flew by too quickly and we were particularly pleased to see so many young people fully engaged from start to finish. We would go again in a heartbeat.
Hamilton touring in Seattle was a wonderful experience - a must-see! Very moving!!!
All the hype, all the awards, to say nothing of the high cost of tickets set a really high bar. Well Hamilton succeeded and more. The whole experience the singing choreography sets lighting were superb, no spectacular. But it was the story that was the true star. It is told so well in hip hop , and by the actors that made the show worth the “cost”.
"Hamilton" was dynamic, creative, humorous, and informative-----all at once! The very talented cast presented Lin-Manuel Miranda's genius in an unforgettable performance!
