About

HAMILTON is the story of America then, told by America now.  Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway, HAMILTON has taken the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton and created a revolutionary moment in theatre--a musical that has had a profound impact on culture, politics, and education.

With book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, HAMILTON is based on Ron Chernow's acclaimed biography. It has won Tony®, Grammy®, and Olivier Awards, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and an unprecedented special citation from the Kennedy Center Honors.

Hamilton at the Boston Opera house.

by Dave on 3/8/23Citizens Bank Opera House - Boston

First of all, the Opera House is gorgeous. My first time there after wanting to go for years . As for Hamilton, what a fun experience! So entertaining. Our troupe was amazing. They were all in and they had to do another show that night! A great historical lesson mixed with pathos and good cheer. A MUST SEE.

    Underwhelmed

by DCA on 3/8/23Citizens Bank Opera House - Boston

The orchestra was so loud it was difficult to hear the actors.Obviously there was an immense amount of talent on stage but many of the actors seemed to have been swallowing their words making it difficult to follow the intended story line. I didn’t hate the show but was profoundly disappointed.

    A dream come true

    by Kyle on 3/7/23

Always wanted to see them ever since middle school. And freaked out when I heard they were coming here to Hawaii. Went to 2 shows, and both were amazing. The Aaron Burr and Angelica Schuyler both absolutely killed it. Concert hall made the harmonics sound even better. Thank you. I hope you guys come again

    WONDERFUL!!!

by LJR on 3/6/23Citizens Bank Opera House - Boston

This was the best experience I've had in a long time... already kicking myself for never seeing Hamilton in NYC with the original cast, the touring cast in Boston WELL made up for it. Loved every minute of it in one of the best theaters in Boston! Wonderful staff, super helpful. Thank you for a night to remember!

    An amazing evening

by Jocelyn on 3/6/23Citizens Bank Opera House - Boston

What a fabulous show. I highly recommend getting the complimentary ear phones. The show is 90% rapping and can be difficult to understand even for someone with no hearing issues. It made all the difference and my 83 year old uncle understood every word.

    OMG

by Leigh on 3/5/23Citizens Bank Opera House - Boston

It seems redundant to say at this point, but this is the bestbpiece of theater I have ever seen. The story, music, staging, lighting, all of it. It's so rich and fun and moving. If you haven't already seen it, you must.

I was in the Theater Where it Happened!

by Clever Bev on 3/3/23Citizens Bank Opera House - Boston

I've waited a long time to see Hamilton on stage. Years ago the tickets were too hard to obtain, or they were too expensive, or the show was presented in a venue too far away. Over time, the plaudits for the show were so overwhelming that I thought it would be impossible for the show to live up to its reputation. It wasn't. Every performer was superior, and I was thrilled that the music was actually live. (Although I have a question about some possible lip-synching.) I learned more about the Revolutionary Period American History in two hours than I learned in one year of high school. What a vision from the mind of one man.

    Amazing

by Mimi on 3/3/23Citizens Bank Opera House - Boston

I've been a huge fan of Hamilton since 2020 when I started listening to the soundtrack on repeat while I worked late nights and weekends. This Boston stage version was out of this world fantastic. The performers were incredibly talented, voices spot on for their roles - Go see it! You will be blown away!

    A Must-See

by Zadie on 3/3/23Citizens Bank Opera House - Boston

This was my second time seeing Hamilton live and the experience was just as incredible as the first time. The Philip cast gave a flawless performance. Pierre Jean Gonzalez was a perfect, charismatic Hamilton. It almost felt like I was watching an alternate universe Lin Manuel Miranda, but while his performance may have been influenced by the original performance, there was also something unique about Gonzalez. I usually find Burr the more affecting of the two performances, outside of the original cast, but in this case, Gonzalez and Blaine Alden Krauss were on equal (exceptional) footing. Marcus Choi may be my favorite Washington. A few members of the audience could use a lesson in etiquette (singing along, using their phones, talking), but luckily the interruptions were momentary and largely forgettable!

by Chuck on 3/1/23Citizens Bank Opera House - Boston

I had seen the recorded TV version previously, but it was nothing in comparison to seeing it live. Amazing performers singing powerful songs, as well as the incredible choreography! Incredibly moving experience.

    Over the top

by AJS on 3/1/23Citizens Bank Opera House - Boston

Cannot explain how superb a play and performance the Boston edition was this past week. Every actor, every song, every choreographed scene and each note from the orchestra was excellent. I would have stayed and watched the evening performance as well. The best play I have ever attended- BRAVO
