HAMILTON is the story of America then, told by America now. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway, HAMILTON has taken the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton and created a revolutionary moment in theatre--a musical that has had a profound impact on culture, politics, and education.
With book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, HAMILTON is based on Ron Chernow's acclaimed biography. It has won Tony®, Grammy®, and Olivier Awards, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and an unprecedented special citation from the Kennedy Center Honors.

Amazing show! An obviously novel concept for a musical. The venue at Devos Place in Grand Rapids is good, not great. The acoustics and sound system lack clarity. The lobby could use some updating. The show and the performance overshadows the shortcomings of the venue.
Amazing cast, fantastic performance! Thank you for coming to Grand Rapids!!
First, the choreography. It was incredible. Second, the energy - fantastic. Third, the lyrics - excellent. Fourth, the singing - top notch. Fifth, the stage management - a thing to behold. The only problem - Hamilton did not sound Canadian.
This was my 3rd time seeing Hamilton. This #philiptour cast is amazing! Absolutely my favorite musical ever.
The cast of Hamilton were entertaining, the pace was good, and their voices resonated throughout DeVos Performance Hall. I am not a rap fan, however I did not have a single song performed that I was not applauding. Hamilton was worth the wait and the expense.... if you get the chance; attend a performance.
Everything and more than I expected: set is gorgeous, performers incredible, backup performers amazing. Go go go go see this!
I wasn’t sure what to expect and ended up more drawn into the story than I have ever been before at a musical. The performers were fantastic! I ended up learning a lot about history as well as being entertained. This is a favorite for me and one I will definitely see again.
The venue De Vos, was excellent, the acoustics outstanding. The story line, songs, voices, choreography were all outstanding. There really isn't any more to say.
Powerful, clever, humorous lyrics delivered in rapid-fire hip-hop rap ... very sharp choreography ... cool musical score ... and high energy combined to produce a dynamic presentation of this chapter of American history.
The songs, the music, the actors and the dance where just outstanding. A superb performance . I would go again.
Great seats for a great performance. Hamilton was everything we had heard about and more.
It was spectacular! I knew it was going to be an amazing show but I was just blown away by the cast! Their voices and performance were just spectacular!! Would recommend this to anyone who can get tickets.
I am not a rap fan but went to broaden my experiences. I lost some of the message as I couldn't understand the hard rap parts. That said, it is an interesting way to deliver a message and I probably got 85% of it. The acting was stupendous. Sets first rate. When it wasn't rap, the music was incredible. Vocals rich, deep, penetrating. Love that it went beyond Hamilton's life and that's all I'll say. Don't think I've ever experienced so many different levels of harmony and I've sung all my life. The intermission could have been a few minutes longer.
The touring production of Hamilton was extremely good. The best show I've seen in years. Excellent cast, fast paced show, excellent entertainment value. Don't miss your shot to be in the room where it happens!!!
Another city, another touring cast, another distinctly rousing HAMILTON! The Founding Fathers, the Schuyler Sisters and everyone in their wake blew us all away. Glad to have seen the #philliptour gracing the stage in Grand Rapids. Understudies stepped in for Hamilton and Angelica Schuyler and did a bang-up job; Eliza (who I'd seen as Peggy/Maria Reynolds on the #angelica tour) sang her first night of this run. Orchestra seating is the place to be when seeing theatre here! We relished every moment and were delighted, charmed, amused, and appalled by performer after performer. (I may have a new favorite Marquis de Layafette/Thomas Jefferson and King George was a showstopper!) Little skips along the way simply added to the humanity of the evening. Don't wait for it: SEE IT!
Loved it! Energy was 110%. I don’t think the sound system at DeVos was perfectly compatible with the sound design of the show though, because sometimes you could barely hear the instruments and sometimes that’s all you could hear.
Show was fantastic! The organization prior to show was ridiculous. Closings off all elevators until 30 mins prior to showtime led to people with wheelchairs and other disabilities struggling to get to seats on time if they had to use the restroom or do anything other than go right to their seat. The main floor was so busy that using any facilities on that floor was out of the question.
This show was fantastic. My granddaughter all to go. I wasn’t sure about it but was thoroughly pleased with this production
We absolutely loved the Hamilton production. The singing and dancing were great. The sound was great. It was a wonderful experience and I’m so glad I got to be there.
