For nearly a decade, HAMILTON at New York’s Richard Rodgers Theatre, with its innovative mix of history and hip-hop, has remained “The Room Where It Happens” on Broadway. The groundbreaking Lin-Manuel Miranda production, based on Ron Chernow’s 2004 biography of founding father Alexander Hamilton, has gripped theatergoers since its 2015 debut. Immediately hailed as another milestone achievement by Miranda, who previously won a Tony Award and a Grammy for his first musical, In The Heights, HAMILTON became the most-nominated production in Tony Awards’ history and won 11 of its 16 contests, the second-largest haul in the ceremony's history. Among many other accolades, the musical earned a Pulitzer Prize in Drama, two Emmys for the stage film released on Disney+ in 2020, and a Grammy for the 2015 original Broadway cast recording, which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart and became the first Broadway cast album to reach Diamond certification by the RIAA in 2023. While it certainly made Lin-Manuel Miranda as much of a household name as the man behind his titular role, HAMILTON also launched the careers of his castmates, including Leslie Odom, Jr. as Aaron Burr, Phillipa Soo as Eliza Hamilton, Renée Elise Goldsberry as Angelica Schuyler, Daveed Diggs as Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson and Anthony Ramos as John Laurens/Philip Hamilton.

The Richard Rodgers Theatre is located on 226 W. 46th Street, between Broadway and 8th Avenue. There is no designated on-site parking. However, there are numerous parking options in the Broadway Theater District. Here's a link to a Google map display of the various options in the Times Square area.
Taxis can stop outside the theatre for drop off and pick up.
The Richard Rodgers Theatre is close to the Times Square - 42nd Street subway stop. You can take the 1, 2, 3, 7, N, Q, R, W and S lines to reach the stop.

The show was fabulous! My husband and I sat in amazement as we watched the cast weave a tapestry of historical events through the ingenious words of Mr. Lin-Manuel Miranda. A must see!
Such an amazing job of writing and acting this was my first professional musical and I was blown away! I had goose bumps through most of the play! Do not miss it!
I had the showtime wrong (maybe a time zone issue?) but luckily stopping by the theater early was fortuitous and we were there at the right time. As for the show... it's Hamilton, you likely know about it. Just go. You won't regret it.
This was our second time to see this production, and first time in NYC. The ensemble does an amazing job bringing this fun and informative story to life. I had forgotten much of the story from a couple years ago, so it was almost like seeing it again for the first time. A "must see" in NYC--or on the road.
This show was incredible. I was nervous because I had built it up in my mind. It was truly as good as you heard
Fantastic show but you do need to enjoy and understand rap otherwise it’s hard to pick up the story, luckily our daughter does and told us at a slower pace. Will definitely recommend to all my rap loving friends.

Everything you have heard is true. This is Broadway on steroids. The lyrics are genius. Makes me wish I was teaching history. Prolong and enhance the experience by listening to the soundtrack first

Hamilton was absolutely incredible. There aren't enough words to describe how much I loved it. The Washington we saw was simply amazing-his voice shook my soul. The whole cast was phenomenal, the set was brilliant, and I can't recommend it enough.
We’ve listened to the music for years but it did nothing to prepare us for how powerful it would be live.
It was fun going to Richard Rodgers theater. Have not been for a long time. Like going back in time. The acting was superb.
The show started out a little oddly. I personally do not enjoy rap music. I did not anticipate this in a play about our founding fathers! I did, in fact, find the acting and singing excellent. The show was evocative and led to hours of interesting discourse with my fiancée. With any form of art, I feel the object is to generate interest and interpretation. On that score,I would give Hamilton a 10!
The music and story are beautifully crafted. The energy and talent of the NY cast is outstanding.

My wife and I went for Valentines night. Awesome performances and show was so good. However our seats were obstructed view - row c on the very end. We did not know this in advance. The manager said he would look for open seats for us but this did not work out. So we enjoyed the show but could not see the back or far right of the stage. For the price we paid this was disappointing. So please check on this before you purchase seats in the font far right or left of the orchestra to avoid our experience.
Loved the show, very entertaining, innovative, informative and at the same time it’s the love story that moves you! There is a huge hype around this play, and It lived up to all my expectations!
The show was Incredible and more than I anticipated. The seats were perfect, we could see everything so well, as we were 3 vests from center in the 12 row from the stage. It was probably the best Broadway musical I have ever seen!
First time seeing Hamilton in NYC Saw the tour in Chicago & Portland Theatre setting in nyc is special (not a bad seat) The music dancers singing and story are moving and pure magic Thank you thank you thank you I want more!!👏🏻👏🏻
