This was a great show that we saw in OC, MD. The scenery and props were not the best (for the cost of the show) but the actors were fabulous!
Show was great. Cast was amazing we thoroughly enjoyed the show
Amazingly well done it was great one of the best I w seen
The show was excellent however the Count Basey seating in balcony was the most uncomfortable ever!!! We are all tall and could not sit comfortably therefore we left the theatre at intermission We could not sit straight. Our knees were hitting people in front of us We had to move to an empty space and spread out sitting sideways!!!! NEVER EVER did we experience this at any NY Theatre. Seats were not cheap either We will NEVER return to Count Basey again!!!!
Was fantastic! The best show I have seen outside of Broadway. Great music and dancing. Overall a really fun show, I highly recommend!
The Cast was AMAZING! Everyone brought incredible energy and personality to each character. I felt like I was truly watching the movie live!
The cast was magnificent; the performance was over way too soon! The musical score tremendous. The standing ovation the entire theatre gave them was totally justified! A must-see production!!
From the opening notes through the encore, we were mesmerized. Top notch cast. High energy. Fun costumes and sets. One of the best shows I’ve seen, and I’ve seen many. We were singing and dancing not just the whole way home, but still are days later. Go see this show!
Fantastic fun surprise ending! Would love to see it again!!!!
Took our teen grandchildren. Easy arrangements. Tickets on phone. Reserved and paid for parking ahead of time. Short walk. Everyone loved the show.
I was not able to see the show. There was a protest in DC with over 17,000 protestors and all drivable access was blocked. I contacted the National Theatre who informed me I could not be compensated because I called them on Monday to report the incident. The show had already left the theatre. It was disappointing that no announcement was made to ticket holders for the 2pm show on the 14th. It was announced in various media forum 2 days before the protest yet nothing was announced to ticket holders.
This cast is incredibly talented! Yes - the story differed a Tad bit from the movie but there’s only so much the stage performance can handle instead of a movie set. We loved every second of the show. The happy energy was contagious. I recommend 1000 %!
Amazing venue, great cast and great music. My favorite characters are Tracy and Link and my favorite song from the show is It Takes Two. It was a fantastic show ever.
The singers were great, especially “Edna”. Show was lively, costumes were fun and staging was excellent. A very impressive performance.
The musical went beyond my expectations! It was so amazing that I cannot even put it into words!
As a fan of the franchise of Hairspray, from the first movie, to now the Broadway show, was simply an amazing experience. I felt like I was taken back to the 60’s for a good laugh! I’ve waited for yrs to see it & I’m glad DC brought to us. The show was definitely a BIG HAIR success.
So I bought tickets specifically to see Nina West as Edna, BUT WOW OK the ENTIRE cast was phenomenal!!! Each and every person on this cast is incredibly talented and did an excellent job. So happy I bought tickets!
The show is energetic, but the storyline was like only 30% of the Hairspray we know. Traci, Mama Turnblad, and MotorMouth Mabel gave memorable performances, but the original refs would have been appreciated...the dances, etc.
Spectacular, amazing, and fun. Nina West was so funny. She was born for Broadway. I couldn’t stop smiling.
