There were technical difficulties that even though I try to be patient with - a professional company should not be encountering these issues.
My seats were in the balcony - we could not hear any of the stringed instruments (guitars, bass, etc) - the drums and trumpet were fine (but when are they not).
One cast members microphone went out in the middle of a song.
It took the first half of the first act for the show to develop enough to get to the plot. I understand character development - but let it happen organically, don't force it.
The playbill said the setting was 1962 - which makes no sense to protest Vietnam.
During intermission, we saw that 20% of the already small audience left, so we decided to move down to the orchestra. Once we moved down, the volume balance between instruments and vocals was better.
The entire time I felt like I was only receiving snipits of the performance - half songs not entire songs were sung.
