Gretchen Wilson made headlines as a country star when her debut single “Redneck Woman” reached the top of the country singles chart. She was the first country artist to do that in years, and her single was the quickest to reach No. 1 in decades. Wilson’s country twang, sassy attitude and deep, soulful vocals draw fans to her concerts and tours, and the honesty in songs like “Redneck Woman” are her ticket to superstardom. Wilson’s most recent release, on her own record label (Redneck), is Christmas in My Heart – the last of three released in 2013, which include Right on Time and Under the Covers as the first two.
Wilson had a rough upbringing in rural Illinois, but she credits her girlhood with instilling in her the tough and strong attitude that makes her so popular with fans. At the age of 15, Wilson was discovered singing in bars and joined her first band, Sam-A-Lama. While “Redneck Woman” shot to the top of the charts and also earned her a 2004 Grammy Award, Wilson has released other successful tunes, like 2004’s “Here for the Party,” which reached the No. 3 spot on the Country Singles chart and the No. 39 spot on the Billboard Hot 100, and 2005’s “Homewrecker,” which reached No. 2 on the Country Singles chart and No. 42 on the Billboard Hot 100. Wilson has come into her own as the head of her own label, and with the three new records she put out in 2013, she has proven that she remains a strong, powerful presence in the country music industry.

Both Gretchen Wilson and Josh Turner were fabulous! I would highly recommend seeing them!
Nice Night Josh was great!!! Gretchen was TOO loud and TOO much rock, expected more country. Would not see her again. Venue--Enforce the smoking rules in the Amphitheater and don't sell BOOZE.... I paid $55 for a ticket and had to watch the screen because the folks in front of me were drunk and standing up the whole time.....It would have been a better use of my money to buy a video.....Sad.
GRETCHEN WAS FULL OF ENERGY AND LOTS OF FUN I SEEN HER IN TAMA IOWA BUT THIS CONCERT WAS SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER SHES JUST A PARTY TYPE OF GAL WHO IS JUST HERSELF AND LIKES TO DO A GREAT JOB FOR HER AUDIENCE.
My two daughters and I went to the concert last night. It was their first concert and they had so much fun and have requested to go to more concerts now. I can't wait to see her again! Thank you for such a great time and awesome memories!
I felt that the show was amazing.. she had her daughter there also which made it an even more family oriented show.. Gretchen commented that the fair was a family thing and i feel she did a great job of keeping it fun for the whole family. i seen younger children there singing right along with her. She also talked breifly about her causes that she donates to and makes a point to let her audience know what she is truely about.
Gretchen Wilson really played to the crowd. There was not a bad seat in the house. I found my seats without effort. She played her most popular songs, the band played a long mix of songs the crowd loved. She played songs from her new album which I thought were excellent. She dedicated a song to military veterans, awesome. She talked about her daughter and purchased cotton candy for her.
Gretchen brought a great country girl rock show to the fair. Opener Ali Beck did a great job as well.
I enjoyed the event. I do wish that she would sing all of her own songs. She doesn't spend much time on stage, and she has enough of her own songs that are good. I didn't pay to listen to the old rock and roll, I payed to listen to her songs. I think that the old rock and roll would be a nice touch, but maybe as an opening band instead. I think that Gretchen's songs really relate to a lot of people because she tries to stay common. If she looses that old common girl next door feel, she will loose fans. Overall good event though. Thank you to all who put it on.
great show, started on time, Gretchen really tried to entertain the audience.
The opening act, Ali Beck, was a great opening act as she got the crowd going and it never slowed down once Gretchen came out. She played some songs off her new album that sounded great and continues her rock-a-billy style. She said it should be out this year yet. She came out for one encore of two songs.
Gretchen totally rocked the Delaware county fair this year. She sounds better in person than even on her recordings. She was funny and had a great connection to the audience. Her band in incredibly talented. They performed a medley of old rock songs and it was VERY GOOD. Gretchen sang "Barracuda" better than the original recording artists!!! Cant wait for her new album. She sang some of the new songs and they are really good.
Gretchen is one amazing concert. She is so down to earth and yet a true southern rocker. Whenever you see her she makes you know that she is right there in the party with you, not performing to you but partying with you. I love the fact that she plays all the casino venues where you can get up close and personal, she stays close to her people and we all love her. She rocks!
1st timer to the Viejas Casino Concerts in the Park and was very impressed with the setup. Friendly and helpful when needed. All other people coming to the concert were all there for the same thing, to have a good time and enjoy the evening.
Very good show. She connected well with the audience. She performed our favorites and introduced some new. Good mix.
IT'S GREAT TO SEE GW IN PERSON. SHE IS REALLY LIKE A GIRL NEXT DOOR... SHE IS VERY SWEET.
I loved her before I saw her concert. I love her more now that I was so close to her at the concert. Seats were very good and so close for the price we paid.
The ticket process was so very easy, the parking was simple...all I had to do was find my seat, sit back & enjoy Gretchen Wilson! What a simple & pleasant experience!!
Great concert, she can really, really sing! Had a GREAT time!
Great singer, lots of energy. After the event was over my first comment was they were advertising for the brand of alcohol she was portrayed as drinking heavily. Her image to me was she was a heavy drinker and an alcoholic. It was like they were promoting the fact that you need to drink booze to have a good time. I left with a bad image of her in my mind.
