Gretchen Wilson made headlines as a country star when her debut single “Redneck Woman” reached the top of the country singles chart. She was the first country artist to do that in years, and her single was the quickest to reach No. 1 in decades. Wilson’s country twang, sassy attitude and deep, soulful vocals draw fans to her concerts and tours, and the honesty in songs like “Redneck Woman” are her ticket to superstardom. Wilson’s most recent release, on her own record label (Redneck), is Christmas in My Heart – the last of three released in 2013, which include Right on Time and Under the Covers as the first two.
Wilson had a rough upbringing in rural Illinois, but she credits her girlhood with instilling in her the tough and strong attitude that makes her so popular with fans. At the age of 15, Wilson was discovered singing in bars and joined her first band, Sam-A-Lama. While “Redneck Woman” shot to the top of the charts and also earned her a 2004 Grammy Award, Wilson has released other successful tunes, like 2004’s “Here for the Party,” which reached the No. 3 spot on the Country Singles chart and the No. 39 spot on the Billboard Hot 100, and 2005’s “Homewrecker,” which reached No. 2 on the Country Singles chart and No. 42 on the Billboard Hot 100. Wilson has come into her own as the head of her own label, and with the three new records she put out in 2013, she has proven that she remains a strong, powerful presence in the country music industry.

Easy parking, quick entry, clean and well upkept venue.
First time at Penn's Peak and what a great venue. You are in the middle of now where, so gas up before heading off the turnpike. It was a small place yet it packed a punch sound wise. Only down side was that Gretchen Wilson only performed from 9:00 - 10:30. When paying for concerts as I have been to many we at least get 2 hours out of a performer. Kinda sucked that she didn't play longer or more of her older hits. She still has those pipes for belting out the tunes. Would go back to this venue again!
Been to many a concert. This was one of the best I’ve seen. The woman can definitely put on a heck of a show.
Gretchen was great! However short and sweet. She had a special guest who was also great. The problem was the show was only 75 mins total. For the money it was disappointing. We thought the special guest would open so we showed up a little late and half of the short show was over. We missed 25% of the show waiting in line to get a drink.
First of all, Gretchen and Jessee G were great! No complaints there. But the seating was terrible! I had a gentleman sitting next to me taking up half my seat the whole night until id had enough and decided to stand(which i prefer to do at a concert). The seats were very uncomfortable also. I hate ti say it,but we will probably never attend another concert there unless improvements are made.
My girlfriend and I, was very disappointed the concert only lasted about 55 minutes at that. The seating and set up wasn't horrible.
I love Gretchen Wilson and her music. I was disappointed, I thought it would be a longer concert than just an hour n a half, I spent 133.00 on tickets. I was also upset because all the drinks were alcohol which i dont mind cause I am 21 but had my friend with me and she was only 18 so having water or something for her would've been nice.
Great seats, great concert! Ushers didn’t have a clear understanding of sections and seats. We were taken to the wrong seats and had to move, we saw this happen to others as well. Chairs and rows were too close together, hard to walk down the isle to our row.
I SHOWED UP HOPING TO HEAR COUNTRY MUSIC FROM A ONE TIME GREAT COUNTRY MUSIC SINGER. I DROVE 2 HOURS TO SEE THE SHOW. THERE WAS NO OPENING ACT. GRETCHEN ONLY SANG FOR 1 HOUR AND MOST OF THE SONGS SHE SANG WERE OLD ROCK AND ROLL SONGS. IT TOOK ME LONGER TO GET THERE THAN THE SHOW TOOK AND IT WAS A CLASSIC ROCK REVIEW NOT A GRETCHEN WILSON SHOW. EVERYONE AT THE SHOW WAS VERY UPSET. WE ALL CAME TO HEAR GRETCHEN WILSON MUSIC.... JUST PLAY SOME GRETCHEN WILSON MUSIC.
Show was 1 hour 15 minutes . Very short , by time you got yourself a drink you missed 3 songs , lines were terrible and then the bathrooms were way tooo far away from the ball room , when your drinking you normally have to pee . So drink and bathroom break was half the concert , She perform great & good entertainer but definitely wasn’t long enough and wasn’t what anyone there expected . Our drive to the concert was longer than the actual concert. We still had a good time and made the best of it . She didn’t even sing some our our favorites, I guess not enough time ??
She still is a top lady performer and the band was right on the mark too!! Great father daughter evening!!
Gretchen sounded great and the event center was awesome, but I paid $75 for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Most concerts are 2-2.5 hours long! Was just a little disappointed in the length of the show.
She put on an amazing show. Just wish it would have lasted longer considering the price I paid for the tickets.
Her performance was great. The only issue was people would stand up and block other people’s view and no one really did anything about it.
she still the best, what a show...the women go crazy !!!
I went to see Kenny Wayne Shepherd and he did not disappoint. Stayed for Gretchen Wilson and she really put on a great show too!
The Grand Theater is a great venue. Good view, acoustics and amenities. Kenny was good but Gretchen was great. If anyone has a chance to see her show, go!
Not a fan of G. Wilson but Super Kenny wayne Shepard fan Great show
awesome show i would go see her and kenny again.sfdsfsd
