GREGORY ALAN ISAKOV IN CONCERT:
Folk singer-songwriter Gregory Alan Isakov has been enthralling audiences with his strong vocals and smooth acoustic tunes since the mid-'90s. His solo live performances are filled with passion and emotion, and he tells affecting stories with powerful lyrics on fan favorites like "The Stable Song" and "Big Black Car". Whether he's strumming his Gibson or performing alongside a full orchestra, Isakov commands the stage with ease and has ticket buyers coming out in droves to his exciting live shows.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Born in Johannesburg and raised in Pennsylvania, Gregory Alan Isakov got his start at age 16 touring with a local band. While in college at Naropa University, Isakov began penning songs about his travels and worldly experiences and collaborated with other musicians on campus. His acoustic-driven music and narrative lyrics truly took shape when he recorded and released his 2003 debut Rust Colored Stones, an earthy album that showcased his songwriting talents and soothing vocals. He’s spent time on the road touring the US, Canada, and Europe with his band and has gained a devoted following along the way. Since then Isakov has released three more acclaimed albums including 2013’s Weatherman, which peaked at No. 1 on the Top Heatseekers Albums chart and earned major critical praise. With his solid collection of folk ballads, the humble singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist creates an intimate experience for concertgoers every time he takes the stage.

Isakov played a most beautiful show, I was brought to tears at one point. The quality of talent of the musicians and his impeccable voice made for a truly lovely performance.
Saw this band at the Outlandia Music Festival in Nebraska. Amazing band and each member is very talented. The vocal harmonies and instruments sound just as good live as on the records. You are in for a treat when you see them!
Gregory was absolutely incredible! A true dream show!
i will always consider him one of the greatest songwriters of this time... beautiful concert
The man behind me gasped “He’s just an artist,” and I couldn’t agree more. Isakov’s musical nuances seem to demand an intimate cafe setting, while the vastness of his builds and harmonies demand an arena. He keeps the balance just right, and the sound engineering for this concert was record quality. This was one of those concerts I couldn’t even sing along to my favorites because I was so rapt by his delivery and the harmonies and artistry of the band. It was like my soul got a bath that night, and I’m making sure to see him again as soon as he comes back to Maine or New Hampshire.
This show was a great lineup of two amazingly talented artists. Both were enthusiastic and passionate in their performances. The venue is always a fun place to see a show!
Music was great. Lots of food trucks. Great spot to watch sunset. Show was pretty short. The venue was cool. Do not sit on the grass. There's goose droppings everywhere.
Loved the show! Opener, Josh Ritter, was terrific and Gregory Isakov was amazing! Loved the venue, well staffed, organized! Relaxed, chill vibe! All around an awesome experience!
Incredible night at Thompson’s Point listening to one of my favorite artists 🖤
This was a sold out show and my 1st time seeing this performer so I didn’t know what to expect he exceeded my expectations I don’t know when I will be able to see him again as it was explained to me that he doesn’t perform in the Midwest very much
Gregory Alan Isakov was incredible! Honestly I would say he’s somehow even better live than when I stream his music. The violin, banjo, and harmonica were amazing as well. Only weird thing about the show was the Orpheum doesn’t let you bring in a bag bigger than a clutch. So many people had to run to their cars before the show to take them back.
I enjoyed Gregory Alan Isakov so much! His accompanying band were amazing. Their music was very relaxing to listen to, and they performed together so well. The Orpheum Theater in Madison was a perfect venue for this band. The acoustics were fabulous and the fact that it was a smaller venue with some wonderful vintage style, made it extra special. I doubt that there was a bad seat in the house. I would definitely recommend seeing this band, and the Orpheum Theater to see a concert.
I thought the performance was fantastic . Talented musicians and superb reproduction of the music from the albums. Sound was unbelievable. I thoroughly enjoyed the concert.
Really enjoyed Gregory Alan Isakov, great show! The Orpheum Theater in Madison is a great venue
This was our first Gregory concert, I listen to him all the time but this concert was absolutely incredible. Between he and the bands extreme talent and the feel of the theater it created an absolutely magical experience. I was in awe hearing his voice in person... it sounded the same as his albums. Pure talent at its finest. Six extremely talented musicians, I can’t wait to see him again.
The whole vibe of this evening was amazing. The lighting was perfect, the sound mix was perfect. I could feel the stand up bass reverberating through my whole body. Gregory’s voice was like a copy of his studio recordings. I could not have been more impressed. Best show I’ve seen at the State Theatre.
The performance was fantastic, Gregory put on a great show and his band brought out his phenomenal voice. Only slight problem was the sound system or PA technician. Bass and drums were a little too high and quiet parts had some reverb. Could have just been the venue and equipment. Great experience overall, definitely worth seeing!
The band was amazing and the setup and venue were excellent. I also liked how there wasn't an opening act, so the main event got started right away.
The only improvement I would make would be to have seating for this kind of intimate performance.
