GREGORY ALAN ISAKOV IN CONCERT:

Folk singer-songwriter Gregory Alan Isakov has been enthralling audiences with his strong vocals and smooth acoustic tunes since the mid-'90s. His solo live performances are filled with passion and emotion, and he tells affecting stories with powerful lyrics on fan favorites like "The Stable Song" and "Big Black Car". Whether he's strumming his Gibson or performing alongside a full orchestra, Isakov commands the stage with ease and has ticket buyers coming out in droves to his exciting live shows.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born in Johannesburg and raised in Pennsylvania, Gregory Alan Isakov got his start at age 16 touring with a local band. While in college at Naropa University, Isakov began penning songs about his travels and worldly experiences and collaborated with other musicians on campus. His acoustic-driven music and narrative lyrics truly took shape when he recorded and released his 2003 debut Rust Colored Stones, an earthy album that showcased his songwriting talents and soothing vocals. He’s spent time on the road touring the US, Canada, and Europe with his band and has gained a devoted following along the way. Since then Isakov has released three more acclaimed albums including 2013’s Weatherman, which peaked at No. 1 on the Top Heatseekers Albums chart and earned major critical praise. With his solid collection of folk ballads, the humble singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist creates an intimate experience for concertgoers every time he takes the stage.

  • Gregory was great, but the speakers weren’t

    by A fan on 9/14/25Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - BerkeleyRating: 3 out of 5

Gregory Alan Isakov was even better in person, but unfortunately I believe there was a problem with the speakers that made everything sound very ting-y, and it was quite painful to listen to

  • An incredible night

    by Louis on 9/14/25Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - BerkeleyRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve seen Gregory Alan Isakov 8 times now, and even from the GA lawn the power of his beautiful voice could be heard. The band is so talented behind him, and I loved that he did some older pieces alongside newer album songs.

  • Amazing performance at a great venue!

by Angad on 9/9/25Remlinger Farms - CarnationRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing performance at a great venue! The traffic at the end was a lot due to the smaller space but still a great menu.

  • Beyond Amazing 🤩

by RPat on 9/9/25Remlinger Farms - CarnationRating: 5 out of 5

I cannot express how amazing this show was. First Dean Johnson with the same band he recorded his most recent album with and then Gregory Alan Isakov with a full band, the lights were amazing (especially the hundreds of tiny streams), the strings reminded me of his album with the Colorado Symphony. I’d never seen him live but boy howdy, was it wonderful! The farm setting was perfect as well.

  • Fantastic

Awesome Epic night with Gregory Alan Isakov…Concert was great, food trucks okay, traffic coordination at the venue needs to be much better for people with disabilities.

  • great performer

by Wally on 9/9/25Remlinger Farms - CarnationRating: 5 out of 5

Everything was great. smaller venue then I expected but very nice clean and organized. The parking lot at the end of the night was a bit of a mess but I think that happens everywhere.

  • Amazing show!

by Luke on 9/9/25Remlinger Farms - CarnationRating: 5 out of 5

As usual, Gregory Alan Isakov was spectacular in a live setting. The band was so in sync and the music was beautiful. What a great venue too! Setting was excellent and the sound mix was superb.

  • Sound, setting, stage were great

by besang on 9/9/25Remlinger Farms - CarnationRating: 3 out of 5

Venue was visually appealing. The sound was great. However, we likely won't be back. Getting in and out took way too long. Super inefficient. Food was fair-food quality. As was the wine. Red wine shouldn't be cold. It was crowded. I don't know where late comers found a spot. The merch line was ridiculously long, as was the entry line. There's some growing pains here. Also, a TV screen would be helpful. It's a big space and we couldn't see the stage.

  • good show, lousy food, obnoxious venue lighting (not stage)

    by Squish321 on 9/9/25Remlinger Farms - CarnationRating: 3 out of 5

Gregory has a great sound. though band was pretty mellow that night. What could be a great venue had significant flaws that'll prevent my returning - 1) sound stage tent blocked a significant viewing center area. can you lower it or ??. Maybe leave the tent flaps open while we're all coming in picking a spot to sit. 2) lighting around periphery of venue was bright and distracting to my vision - notably by the venue exit shining across the crowd laterally, turn those things towards the ground or off during the show! 3) jeez, could you serve anything less for a hamburger? you just can't pay enough for a dry burger and ugly piece of cheese can you? 4) parking area departure. whelp, if you're deep in the parking area expect a longggg wait to get out. Guy with zip sign was pretty funny though. quite the goat rodeo.

  • BEST SHOW IN A LONG TIME

Wow Gregory, Alan Isakov did not disappoint. Beautifully done show. It felt very surreal and magical. We will definitely get more tickets next time around as close as possible next time!

  • Never Disappointed …MUST SEE

by Colorado Girl on 9/2/25Rating: 5 out of 5

For more than six years, my husband and I have returned, year after year, to see Gregory Alan Isakov and his band weave their music under the lights. No two nights are ever the same—each concert feels like a journey, tenderly crafted and soul-stirring. Their live performances carry a rare kind of magic, equal parts intimacy and brilliance, as if each note is played just for you. If I could, I’d follow them from town to town, letting every show etch itself into memory. This is not just a concert—it’s an experience you must witness at least once, though once will never be enough.

  • Even better live!

  • Awesome show

by LLP on 8/30/25The Pageant - Saint LouisRating: 5 out of 5

We got there early enough to get seating in GA, so we were comfortable throughout the show. Isakov was amazing and the lighting really enhanced each song. Such a great venue for a wonderful performance.

  • Amazing

by Some dude on 8/27/25Everwise Amphitheater at White River State Park - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

My girlfriend and I had an amazing time! Gregory really stole the show and I felt that it was worth every penny. I was also impressed with how many songs Gregory played in one night. 10/10 would highly recommend!

  • Disappointed in the sound quality

by Former fan on 8/27/25Artpark Mainstage Theater - LewistonRating: 1 out of 5

Our group of 4, ages 26-67, enjoyed GAI in an outdoor venue in 2024. We were thrilled to see him again and spend considerable travel time and expense to repeat the experience. All of us thought the band was too big for the venue. The sound quality was overpowering to the point of distortion. The base levels in particular were bothersome. The few quieter songs at the end were much more enjoyable, but did not make up for the preceeding hour of what felt like noise.

  • Great Night

by Kaze on 8/27/25Artpark Mainstage Theater - LewistonRating: 5 out of 5

Gorgeous concert, beginning to end, in a great venue. Even though I only knew a couple of songs, I was enthralled throughout.

  • Incredibly beautiful and full of heart.

    by 10/10 on 8/26/25Rating: 5 out of 5

Usually, I leave concerts wishing there was more, but this time I left feeling a sense of contentment and joy that I had only felt before after seeing the Lumineers for the first time. Ocie Elliott opened, and I fell deeply in love with their music. Overall, a wonderful concert and unforgettable experience.

  • Just an amazing concert

by mouse on 8/25/25Thompson's Point - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

This could not have been a better event in every way. Isakov is a such a gifted singer and his band was terrific. The lighting during the show was professional. I hope he comes back. Thanks for a great evening of music.

  • Gregory Alan Isakov @ Portland

by Gaetano on 8/25/25Thompson's Point - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

The concert by Gregory Alan Isakov in Portland the other night was absolutely incredible. His voice carried such warmth and authenticity, filling the venue with an atmosphere that felt both intimate and powerful. The band played with so much soul, and the audience was completely captivated from the very first song to the last encore. It wasn’t just a performance, it felt like a shared emotional journey. La Musica vale mille parole!
