About

Green Day redefined punk rock in a post-grunge world. Rising from the Bay Area punk scene in 1987, the band released several EPs before coalescing into their long-standing lineup of vocalist and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt, and drummer Tré Cool. The trio shared the independent album Kerplunk in 1991 before releasing their major label debut Dookie in 1994. Behind singles like “Longview,” “Basket Case” and “When I Come Around,” which each topped the Alternative Airplay chart, Dookie reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200. Dookie earned Green Day three Grammy nominations, including a win for Best Alternative Music Performance, and the album continues to stand as the band’s best-selling release with over 20 million copies sold worldwide. Green Day followed with 1995’s Insomniac and 1997’s Nimrod, with the latter boasting the band’s biggest creative shift with the rare acoustic single, “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life).” After 2000’s Warning, Green Day spent the next few years developing their first of several ambitious projects, the 2004 punk rock opera American Idiot. The album became Green Day’s first to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and it logged two Top 10 singles with “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” and “Wake Me Up When September Ends.” American Idiot garnered seven Grammy nominations and won two, including Best Rock Album. The band won the Best Rock Album Grammy again with 2009’s concept album 21st Century Breakdown. A stage adaptation of American Idiot debuted on Broadway in 2010 and won two Tony Awards and a Grammy for the cast recording. Furthermore, Green Day were first-ballot inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015.

    WOW!!

    by Abliss on 10/23/23

By FAR the best concert I've been to! I've seen them like 3 or 4 times now, and they always kill it! You should definitely see them live if you get the chance, even if you aren't a hardcore fan

    Incredible Shows

    by J. M. on 2/27/23

Green Day always gives great performances. I love how Billie gets the audience involved and really makes you feel like a part of the show. There is truly no other concert experience like theirs!

    Amazing

    by Blake on 2/26/23

Of all the concerts I’ve been to Green Day was the best one. Great set list and a great closing Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tr’e Cool are probably some the most talented musicians. And some of the kindest artists to all the fans. And Billie Joe has such an amazing voice such a unique and beautiful voice.

    Great show, same show….

    by Andrea on 9/28/22

Green Day has been my all time favorite for years and they put on an incredible show. However, the show is predictable because it the same formula they’ve been using for over 10 years. Set list is pretty much always the same and at this point I already know what cues Billie will pull out and at what time. I’d love to see them come out of their comfort zone and put on a different show. Again, love them but they don’t feel exciting or special after you’ve already seen them before. Great show if you’re a first timer.

I’ve seen greenday 4 times over 20 years and they were awesome each time. So much energy. Billie Joe is such an incredible frontman.

    Billy Joe is the Master

    by Zach on 7/2/22

Before the concert, I thought Green Day was really good. Afterwards, my mind was blown. In the middle of the set I would look down at the people in the packed baseball stadium and could see only 5 people or less on their phones. 5 out of thousands!! I have never, nor will I probably ever see one person hold the undivided attention of so many people at a time. Even introverts in the nose bleeds were screaming like they were extroverts up close. Entirely surreal.

    They’ve still got it!

    by A. F. on 6/27/22

I was delighted when my teenaged daughter “discovered” Green Day, I think she might love them more than I do now! They do not disappoint live. Go see them you won’t regret it!

    They rock hard!

    by Emily on 6/13/22

They have so much energy and sound awesome live! I’ve seen them twice, both concerts were 10 years apart but you wouldn’t have known it because they had the same enthusiasm!

    Innings Festival

    by L. S. on 3/24/22

I thought all the bands were very good at the Tampa festival. Until Green Day played. Billie Joe made everybody else look like amateurs. Green Day CRUSHED it (again) and just blew the crowd away. I wish I could see them again tomorrow.

    Good luck watching the bands

by inso on 1/19/22Oracle Park - San Francisco

Parking was absolutely atrocious. Ended up taking about 40 minutes to find parking anywhere near the park and ended up missing an entire performance despite taking the “secret” entrance through Public House. I will never attend another concert at this venue. Awful.

    Hella Mega Tour

    by poncechris85 on 12/29/21T-Mobile Park - Seattle

Great show. I've been wanting to see Greenday since the 90's & finally got my chance. Played all the classics & a good mix of all the new hits as well. Weezer was awesome & the Pretenders were a welcome addition as an opening act. Too bad Fall Out Boy was as annoying live as on the radio...no amount of pyro can save that played out garbage. Staff was friendly & helpful as well.

I went to the Hella Mega tour and Green Day absolutely blew me away. They’re a great band and even better performers, I recommend, great time.
