Beautiful dancing, well choreographed A terrific opportunity to see professional ballet Breathtaking costumes
It was a nice event for my family. Since we had our seats up high my 4-year-old daughter didn't disturb anyone while tweerling and jumping like balerinas on the stage. My daughter behaved more appropriat than some grown ups in a nearby sector, though. She was happy, so were we. A very good event to introduce a chiled to a ballet.
Wonderful ballet. The performers were very talented. Would have been better with a live orchestra but the soundtrack did not take away from the performance.
I was sorely disappointed with the first half of the performance--small children were not prepared to dance or know their places on the stage. They were more or less in the way of the dancers. The familiar music of the Nutcracker did not really start until the 2nd half. Ballerina's were not timed well--dancing did not finish with the music. For the price of the tickets, I could have seen the Joeffrey Ballet. I would not attend again. People clapped for everything, inhibiting hearing the music. You can appreciate a performance but do it at the end or at intermission. Dancers were also not centered on the stage.
No live orchestra - dancers performed to a CD with poor sound quality, cheap props, deleted acts (no big top dress scene), and just all the way around uneventful for the money you pay to see this performance. I could've gotten the same quality of show at a high school dance recital! I was going to get tickets to sit in the front with my family and I'm SO glad that I did not! Don't even waste your money on balcony seating.
I've never been to a ballet before so I don't have much to compare to but I really thought is was incredible. The dancers were amazing & the little ballerinas were so cute. It's amazing the things we can actually do with our bodies. It was a great experience with the family.
Only enjoyed being with my granddaughter. Moscow Ballet, Russian Nutcracker never compares to Miami Ballet. Unfortunately it is the only one offered in the area my granddaughter lives. They seem to change the story every year and the colors are so dull.
We really enjoyed the performance. it was a lovely holiday experience for our entire family! Our 5 1/2 year-old daughter was mesmerized by the elaborate costumes and scenes. The only thing that bothered us was that the ballerina who played "Masha" was a different dancer at the end of the show. This was very obvious to all of us. Probably a logistical decision, but noticeable, nonetheless. Beautiful dancers and fantastic choreography, especially the Arabian performance.
The main two dancers worked together very nicely. The Nutcracker character was so skillful such that he made his partner shine at the critical moments. Orchestra music was so perfect without flaw.
After reading multiple reviews on previous performances, we've decided to see for ourselves and I am glad we did! Needless to comment on music-if you don't like it you would not be reading this review. Dancing was excellent, artistic and inspiring. Decorations are nice, light is well-done as well. Take your little ones with you to enjoy this wonderful Christmas performance-they won't be disappointed.
First problem, no orchestra. Seen the Joffrey production several times, always with live music. Second problem, cheap looking production. Third problem....too many kids. A few kids are welcome, and naturally a part of a Nutcracker production. But they had dozens, and included them in almost every number, to the point where they detracted from the dancers. Some were as young as 3 yrs old, and as little kids will do, they are watching each other to see what they should do, and sometimes forgetting where they exit. This is cute when you are watching a grammar school Christmas pageant, but not cute when watching a professional ballet. Didn't look like the kids were rehearsed too well, either. For $87 a seat, I want to see professional dancers. Final problem, the seats. Sat third row center. Sounds pretty good, but a few rows back would have been better, since your eyes are are at stage level. Plus, some genius decided to put a speaker [for the canned music] right at the front of stage center, and the speaker often blocked the view of the ballet. I think this production was from Moscow Idaho, not Russia.
Beautiful as ever and the dancing was amazing. You don't realize how much these dancers are on pointe until you see other dance companys.....My only complaint is that it seemed to be shorter in length than last year. Otherwise, Bravo!
not Moscow, not Nutcracker, not even Ballet, and certainly not Great.
This is one of the only true representations of the classic ballet. Its withstood the test of time.
Ive never seen the nutcracker, or have every been to the ballet,,,I love the whole experience,,,Not to be missed
I think the performace was good, but really don't like the stage and the lights, especially in the second part, it would be better if it had a clean background and the lights would focus on the performers.
We attended this Nutcracker show at the Rosemont theater and it did NOT disappoint! Well acted, beautiful costuming and set design, great music, choreography top notch, well worth the ticket cost! A must see!!!
Went with my 5yr old daughter. We both enjoyed it very much! Would definitely see it again.
The show was beautiful and everything I had hoped it would be.
The Nutcracker was a beautiful performance. Costumes were stunning...beautiful jeweled tones. The local children did a wonderful job! The artistic quality was amazing
