Going to see the Nutcracker is an annual tradition and this year was exceptional. The sets are beautiful as well as the costumes. The awww factor of the kids was too cute and the overall story was perfection. In the pas de deux, there was a small mistake but they worked through it and went on like nothing had happened. Overall, I would see this production again and again.
I haven't been to the ballet in 21 years and the performance by the Mascow Ballet on 12/11/2010 inspired me to see more ballet. It was tremendous and extremely enchanting and entertaining. This was a birthday gift for my husband and he hasn't stopped raving about it.
This was such a disappointment. The orchestra was out of tune and some instruments were too close to the microphone (the flute and piccolo were piercing.) The choreography was tired and boring. The sets looked like something from a middle school play. Everything about this performance felt amateur. I enjoy seeing The Nutcracker every year at Christmas time, but this was a waste. If you're considering seeing the Moscow Ballet, don't do it - save your money.
Grace and Precision. The performance was stunning and breath taking. I loved every moment. I hope to see the Moscow Ballet again performing other pieces. Thanks for bringing them to Baltimore.
The performance was mostly directed to entertained kid-audience. I was very disappointed that the food & drinks were allowed into audience. The orchestra was lame a few times. Will I recommend it to other people? Maybe. If they have kids and would like to introduce them to ballet for the first time, but would warn them not to put their expectations too high. I saw the Nutcracker few years back at Lyrics and the performance and atmosphere wise it was better. This year show was sold by Arabian dance only .
Takes a tremendous cast both in numbers and talent, dedicated direction and great production to put on the Nutcracker. From that standpoint it was great. If you want to compare it to other productions it was certainly good but not great
My daughter and I loved the show. The dancers are so talented and it was the best performance of The Nutcracker I have ever seen.
Although I have seen the Nutcracker Ballet many times with many different versions, I truly enjoyed this production. The Ballet Troupe were extradionary. I was somewhat disappointed in the stage design. I have seen better better but the dancing was why we came and we were not disappointed.
The overall quality of the dancers was simply outstanding. The lead male dancers showed a level of athleticism that I had not seen previously and was equally complimented by the incredible flexibility of a certain female performer. Together,the routine was unlike any seen before in the Nutcracker or any other show for that matter. The costumes were bright and colorful and captured the essence of the fairy tale story and the oversized animals peeking out into the audience added the right touch of humor to the event. The orchestra was the perfect compliment to the professionalism of the entire troupe and performed the familiar songs flawlessly. The Hippodrome was the ideal location for this event as it captured the old world charm of this timeless classic. One could easily imagine it was 1892 Russian and this was the first performance . My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and hope that this troupe will return to Baltimore next year.

The genies were amazing! The principle ballerina also performed amazing.
Though my wife was very skeptical about the ballet when I bought the tickets to celebrate our anniversary, she enjoyed the show very much. The costumes, music and the graceful performances of the Russian artists, who we have heard a lot, made it a very memorable experience.

Very nicely done with some outstanding performances. Very family friendly with many local children as part of performance.
