About

One remarkable dance team. One big chance. One small twist. You gotta be over 60.

From the director/choreographer of Kinky Boots comes the incredible true story of ten determined dreamers who audition to dance at half time for a major NBA team. They have three things in common: they love to dance, they have something to prove, and they are all over 60. It isn’t until they make the cut that they find out they won’t be dancing tap, salsa or swing—they are going to bring down the house with a style that’s entirely new to them: hip hop. Don’t miss this original Broadway-bound musical about a group of ordinary seniors with extraordinary dreams as they battle pain, prejudice, self-doubt and each other for a chance to bust a move at center court in front of 20 thousand screaming fans.

    Gotta Dance....Gotta See It!

by Travellgal on 1/16/16Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

What a great show! I was wondering how could a writer expand on the idea of a group of people, with a passion for dance....try out for a half time show. Well, this writer did. I must say that as the story unfolded, the audience could really relate to each of thei character's life struggles. You will definitely recognize the stars in the show. Stephanie Powers was gorgeous as ever!

    The show was fantastic.

I enjoyed the diversity of skills by the different age dancers. I recommend this show so everyone can see that everything is possible no matter how old you are.

    gotta dance for sure

by tighterwad on 1/13/16Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

gotta dance left us with the feel good feeling that we crave. the energy of the cast made us want to abandon our sedentary lifestyle and move. the score hit home for us as it did for the entire audience. we laughed, related, and totally enjoyed the day.

    Gotta Miss

by Anonymous on 1/13/16Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

The "plot" for this is so thin you can see through it, the "jokes" so old my grandpa was telling them and the "zingers" totally implausible or no zing. The actors were good and did the best they could with the thin material--I don't think it will ever make it to Broadway. Was really bad cause we saw Beautiful the day before (which was beautiful)

I'm so glad I got a chance to see this show before it leaves town. So incredible to watch these talented people dance and sing their hearts out! It seemed to have given everyone a bit of lift in their step

    Gotta Dance = Gotta See

by cheanner on 1/13/16Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

Fun and inspirational and spot on in so many areas as they relate to (mis)perceptions about aging. An unexpected but lovely and important story line about a grandparent and her entitled grandchild helps make this a multi-generational story. Makes me want to find a dance group!

    Really Enjoyed It

by JeanWitherington on 1/13/16Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

I thought it was a really good show. After reading the reviews I was not expecting it to be as good as it was. I am so happy that I didn't let the reviews keep me from going as I really, really liked it.

    So So...

by Anonymous on 1/12/16Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

We thought the actors (especially Georgia Engle) did a fine job considering how much physical stamina was needed for the performance However, it lacked a credible story and we lost interest during portions of the show. It was also hard to justify the ticket price for it. Sorry!!

I didn't know what to expect when I purchased the tickets. I was looking forward to seeing Georgia Engels and Stephanie Powers. (They were amazing, as well as the other cast members.) I fell in love with the story, the music and the characters! Gotta Dance is a great comedy musical! I wish them a great run on Broadway, and then come back to Chicago again.

    Senior Fun

by Walker66 on 1/12/16Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

Gotta Dance was a great show for anyone over the age of 50. It was hilarious but also reminded the audience members that there is life after 60 and that it is good to be kind to one another. I rarely see any plays twice, but I would go to this one again.
