About

Godsmack were a big part of the late ’90s hard rock revival, and they’ve continued to lead the way for legacy rock acts with three No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200, 28 Top 10 singles on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, three Grammy nominations and over 20 million albums sold worldwide. The quartet formed in Lawrence, Massachusetts in 1995 and played their first shows in Boston bars before recording their 1997 independent album, All Wound Up…, which was later reworked as their quadruple-platinum, major label debut, Godsmack, in 1998. The band’s profile grew as they joined the Ozzfest tour in 1999 and 2000, dropped their sophomore album Awake on Halloween 2000 and earned their first two No. 1 singles on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart with the album’s title track and 2002’s “I Stand Alone” from The Scorpion King soundtrack. Ahead of the release of 2003’s Faceless, Godsmack assembled their long-standing core lineup of founding members Sully Erna and Robbie Merrill along with guitarist Tony Rombola and drummer Shannon Larkin. The album kicked off a three-album streak of Billboard 200 No. 1 debuts including 2006’s IV and 2010’s The Oracle. The band collected their second career platinum-certified single with “Bulletproof” off 2018’s When Legends Rise, which reached the Top 10 on the Billboard 200. In 2023, the band unveiled their eighth studio album, Lighting Up the Sky.

a lot of good bands, some who i was really looking forward to. also was really surprised by some of the other bands & the amazing show they put on - rob zombie! everytime i come i find a new favorite! took an hour to get parked, waited in line through 2 bands to get inside & took another hour to get out of the parking lot. but even all the waiting & the rain & the people couldn't take away from the music.

    Lazerfest 2010

by Anonymous on 5/18/10National Balloon Classic Launch Field - Indianola

Lazerfest was not as good this year. There was too many people and not enough space. They need more restrooms, and food vendors. Next year if they are going to sell that many tickets, then they need to expand everything else.

Colossal waste of time, effort, and money. Left early, think I'll stick to smaller venue's from now on.

    Loved the whole show!

by fmdevil666 on 5/18/10National Balloon Classic Launch Field - Indianola

This show was amazing, been wanting to see Godsmack for years and will gladly see them again and again. My only complaint was that 5FDP had such a small set, for as little play time as the had, they put on one KICK A$$ show, I'll have to see a show that they headline some time.Zombie aways impresses, and Skillet did a great job too. All in all, any of these bands are a can't miss.

    All the bands were Awesome!!!!

by Bravo85 on 5/17/10National Balloon Classic Launch Field - Indianola

Papa Roach, Rob Zombie, and Three Days Grace really had the crowd going! Seether also did well. All the bands did amazing! The only problem I have with the fest was the lines for the food and to get in. I know this was the biggest crowd they've had so I can understand their organizational flaws, but maybe next time they can have it a little better organized? Still loved the show though!

Awesome event. The only suggestion I would make would be changing how long it takes to get in. I waited in line for a hour and a half to get in. Otherwise once I got in it was awesome!

    Zombie baby!

by JoJo200100 on 5/17/10National Balloon Classic Launch Field - Indianola

So, I was never a big fan of Rob Zombie or Alice Cooper before going to Lazerfest. But after seeing that amazing show the two bands put on, wow. I wouldn't mind seeing either of them again. The show they put on was just unbelievable! And then adding Three Days Grace and Godsmack to the end of that, made it the best concert I've ever been to.

Spectatcular setlist! Cooper was a bit long and FFDP and Skillet were a bit short but the atmosphere and rock was killer to the bone!

by Weather199 on 5/17/10National Balloon Classic Launch Field - Indianola

This concert was definately the best concert that I have ever been at!! Only thing I wish was different, they wouldn't allow body surfing. I got clobbered and I am still paying for it. I was watching Alice Cooper and someone body surfed right into me.

Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie were sick

by Rockstar84 on 5/17/10National Balloon Classic Launch Field - Indianola

The show kicked ass, Rob Zombie had an awesome stage set up was sick, and Alice was great live for his age and being able to rock it like that is sick as well. 3 Days Grace and Godsmack brought it, they rocked hard. Pappa Roach was amazing in person as well, and Hellyeah was great just like I saw them 3 years ago.
