Cuban-born Gloria Estefan has been bringing the Latin sound to audiences around the world since the '70s with iconic hits like with iconic hits like “Words Get in the Way,” “Bad Boys” and “Can’t Stay Away From You." With album sales in the tens of millions, she is considered the world’s most successful Latin crossover artist, bringing an edgy yet heartfelt vibe that transcends cultures and language barriers. As she hits the stage in an explosion of cool, controlled energy, Estefan entrances ticket holders with her honey-smooth vocals, rhythm-infused tunes and inspiring lyrics. In 2013, Estefan embarked on a world tour to promote her album, The Standards, performing for sell-out concerts in venues that included London’s Royal Albert Hall.
A Cuban immigrant whose family fled the Castro regime, Estefan first hit the music scene during the 1970s as the lead singer for the Miami Sound Machine. In 1985, the group released its first Columbia album, Eyes of Innocence, which features the mega-hit “Dr. Beat” and the popular ballad “I Need Your Love.” The album made Estefan a star, and the band became more of a venue to showcase her sizzling hot vocals. By 1989, the group disbanded and Estefan became a fully established solo artist, capping her fame with singles such as “Anything for You” and “Get On Your Feet.” In 2013, Estefan celebrated her four decades in music with The Standards, an album of songs from the Great American Songbook. The album hit No. 20 on the Billboard Top 200 and continues to be a bestseller worldwide, as well as a fitting tribute to Estefan’s evergreen versatility.

She was on the stage the whole time, moving from one fabulous song, mostly oldies to another with such verve!! She made us want to sing and dance...She still has it!!! I can hardly wait to buy her latest CD... Great night...

Yes she does a good job on show tunes but I guess I expected the old Gloria that would have the house rocking with all those great dance tunes. To make matters worse when she did sing some of her old tunes they were at a very slow pace not like the original version. I would true prefer her to return to the good old say of the Miami sound machine tunes.

Guess we all know where she got her amazing voice. I would love to see another one of her concert. The fireworks at the end was awesome. My husband and I was celebrating our 28th anniversary and Gloria Estefan concert was a treat!

She has a wonderful voice and both background orchestras were great. I applaud her for her wonderful support of the youth orchestra of Los Angeles. They all looked thrilled! It was a nice surprise to have her daughter perform too. Oh yeah, Andy Garcia looked like he was having a grand time on stage. Fireworks were an added treat, especially at this venue (Hollywood Bowl). A wonderful experience

by politisa on 7/29/14Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodI still like Gloria Estefan as much as I always have. Having her daughter show up and sing was an added bonus and so was having Andy Garcia. Regretfully, I was disappointed because I wanted to hear her sing her Latin Music and not Standards. I wanted to move to the beat of her style and hear some of her American songs as well but most of the concert was material that I had heard before from the original songwriters. Had I known the content of the concert beforehand, I would not have gone. And no I am not Cuban nor Latina. Quite disappointed. Athena Tidwell

by 93001Ventura on 7/29/14Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodWas really looking forward to hearing more of the old Gloria songs. Too many from her new album which was just boring. Best parts were when she sang the songs SHE Is noted for and not Frank Sinatra or Louie Armstrong. The finale was really good tho. One of HER songs and amazing fireworks.

Gloria connected with her audience as if they were guests in her home and she was in fine voice. An amazing fireworks display that inspired long conga lines concluded a great show.
