Wonderful Glenn Tilbrook show at Wonder Bar

by RNYNJ on 10/15/13The Wonder Bar - Asbury Park

When you see Glenn Tilbrook, be prepared to smile and sing all night! It's always an extraordinary show when Glenn performs. This tour was special as Simon Hanson (Squeeze's drummer) came along and added to the fun! Don't expect it to be a Squeeze show although you will definitely hear some favorites from that beloved band. You will also hear Glenn's solo songs which are just as endearing.

Glenn Tilbrook - Always a great time!

by PLIndley on 10/14/1320th Century Theater - Cincinnati

Not only did Glenn perform many of his originals (which we love), but also many of the great Squeeze hits. His total performance by he and his band is always entertaining. We are so thankful he continues to bless the USA with his presence and musical talent.

    Glenn Tilbrook was Meh....

by Jimijaz on 10/12/1320th Century Theater - Cincinnati

I've seen three shows at the 20th Century Theater over the last couple years. Trombone Shorty, Jake Shimabukuro and Glenn Tilbrook. By an order of magnitude, Jakes show was the best sounding. It looked like he had his own soundman and the dude had the room completely dialed in. Trombone Shortys sound man told me he couldn't get the band to turn down and it was a terrible, loud mess. I'd have been happy with Glenn on a bar stool playing an acoustic. What I got was Glenn with a couple of 'assistants' providing messy, poorly mixed backing. The entire mix was terrible and difficult to discern without earplugs. The whole thing sounded like the mid-range was completely cut out. All I heard was low end and a little treble. Having seen Squeeze back in 83', I know Glenn was and still is a consummate musician with that signature voice. I just wish I could have heard him under better circumstances.

Glen Tilbrook still in fine voice and guitar play

by sawdocfan on 9/8/13Brighton Music Hall - Boston

This was the third time we saw Glen Tilbrook play solo, and my memories of the past shows were better than this past show. He has a really funny sense of humor, and it did not come out as much this show. (One show he even stepped from chair to chair in the audience while playing.) It's not entirely fair to compare him to past greatness, but I also wished he played more Squeeze songs as well. He played two in the regular set, and two in the encore. Some artists are even worse and totally ignore their previous work in their band for their current work, but that does not mean the audience is happy with that.
