About

16-year-old glaive is an artist hailing from the mountains of North Carolina who began making music at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. He released his first song on Soundcloud in April and his rise in the time since has been meteoric, supported by a steady stream of new music that quickly earned him acclaim and a devoted following. He shared his debut EP cypress grove this past fall, with The FADER naming the single "astrid" one of the best song songs of 2020 and The New York Times' Jon Caramanica including it among his top tracks of the year. He shared his second, all dogs go to heaven, in August, with The New Yorker praising its "startlingly well-formed sound" and Rolling Stone citing standout single "detest me" as "a good example of everything there is to like about glaive." He now has 1,015,391 monthly listeners on Spotify – a 101,539,100% increase after starting 2020 with just one. Look for glaive to bring venues like the Varsity Theater to capacity when he tours by a town near you.

ericdoa: ericdoa is from what he describes as a "small ass farm town" in Connecticut, certainly not known for its artistic output or community. Without many like-minded kids at school, he spent most of his time on the internet growing up, and met nearly all of his closest friends and collaborators online via platforms like Discord and Twitter. Eric grew up around a music-oriented family and was exposed to "raw ass pop artists" like Rick James, Earth Wind & Fire, and Teena Marie at a young age. When he started making music around 14 years old, these influences meshed with the music he heard online, and Eric taught himself to record and produce his own material.

  • The Atlantis February 4th

by Laurel Leticia on 2/11/25The Atlantis - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

This was my second time seeing Glaive in concert. Brought a friend along and we got front row. This time around was just as amazing as the first time I saw him. He has definitely grown performance wise and is amazing. I love his vibe and he’s funny as well as very interactive with the crowd and fans. Crowd was very chill and hype. Was respectful space wise with one or two crazy’s but hey that’s everywhere and you just deal with it. But positive GA experience. I got to meet him after the show and he was so so kind and down to earth. I got to get a selfie with him and he even helped give me tips on how to get a really good photo. Best part was he smiled too. I had custom made my sweatshirt for the show and he said he loved it and thought it was one of the best ones he’s seen. Anyway I could go on and on but much love and admiration for him, especially as an independent artist just starting out myself he’s one of my biggest inspirations. Anyway I’d hands down see him again with no second thoughts or hesitations.

  • Glaive in Atlanta GA at the Masquerade on February 8th

This was literally one of the best experiences we have ever had everything went so perfectly I couldn’t have dreamed it would be such a phenomenal show from beginning to end we met the coolest kids in line that hung out with my daughter the entire show before and after I (her mother) randomly met Glaive walking back from trying to sneak them pizza he took pics with me (he was so nice)then the show was so amazing the crowd was so hype and then afterward we all met him and he signed the pizza boxes! Literally one of the best nights ever!

  • something missing

by long time fan on 2/4/25Bowery Ballroom - New YorkRating: 3 out of 5

i am a long time fan of glaive & this was my second time seeing him. i got there way too early because i didn’t know that there wasn’t going to be an opener (i remember a post about an artist & going through their account…). as an “older” fan at 23, there was a personal disconnect with me & the crowd which is unfortunate. i also think glaive himself has tired himself out so far on tour & he didn’t go for any of the high notes or screaming despite those being my favorite parts of his songs. it was exciting that so many of his songs were remixed into ss03 dance versions alluding to his shift in sound i think. his stage presence is great though & i can’t wait to see him improve even more as time goes on.

  • Glaive is the best

by Erik C on 10/11/23The Observatory North Park - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

Best concert I went to, Glaive is dope … he will blow up and fill Madison Square garden. It’s guaranteed. The lights at the concert were on point and stage design was sweet . I love the tent with the bright light peeking through. And his intro when he sat at the small table and played the into to “oh your bipolar one or two?” On the piano was insane! Got some cool videos and photos from the concert.
