About

Ten-time Grammy-award winning artist, George Benson, has the rare distinction of being in the pop consciousness while remaining in the pantheon of jazz greats. With 36 studio albums, and 8 live albums, Benson has emerged a household name best known for the 1976 three-time Grammy-winning album, Breezin', boasting the pop-jazz vocal smash "This Masquerade," which topped the jazz, pop, and R&B charts. The album remains one of the best-selling jazz albums of all time, and has since been certified 3x platnum. His 1980 soul-pop gem, "Give Me The Night," produced by Quincy Jones and written by Rod Temperton (Michael Jackson), summited to the top of the soul single charts. In 2009, Benson was awarded the NEA Jazz Masters Fellowship-- the highest honor that our nation bestows on jazz artists.

Benson is a consummate performer and an adventurous instrumentalist who remains an annual must-see artist. He regularly packs and sells out such hallowed venues as The Hollywood Bowl, Royal Albert Hall, Hampton Court Palace, and Sydney Opera House. Benson is also a marquee artist at many U.S. jazz and international festivals, including Montreux Jazz Fest and NOJF, Umbria and North Sea to name a few.

Benson's recent accomplishments are varied and aplenty. He collaborated with subversive art- pop band, Gorillaz, featuring Blur's Damon Albarn, to co-write and perform on the track "Humility," which has amassed over 100 million YouTube views and counting. In 2021, DJ Steve Aoki remixed Benson's hit "Give Me The Night," with a rugged house beat introducing the irresistible R&B-pop gem to a whole new audience. He was interviewed by Youtube sensation, Rick Beato, earning 900K views in 3 weeks.  His recent albums have earned features and rave reviews in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, American Songwriter, Forbes, Billboard and Newsweek. In 2020, Benson was inducted to jazz bible DownBeat Magazine's Hall Of Fame. The following year he was inducted by music legend Quincy Jones into New Jersey's Hall Of Fame-- an honor from which he received a personal congratulatory note from President Obama.

  • George Benson

by Cynthia on 5/19/25The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort - LincolnRating: 5 out of 5

Absolutely great performance, I enjoyed the performances. I recommend George Benson, he puts on a great performance, both vocally, and with the instruments he plays. He is a true legend.

  • Fantastic peformance

by Lynn on 5/19/25The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort - LincolnRating: 5 out of 5

Loved the two pre show performers, Demola Violinist and Brian McKnight. George can still give a great performance at 82 years old. All his top songs. Good guitar playing and excellent backup band. Very enjoyable and in a nice venue at Thunder Valley.

  • Awesome show. Awesome seats!

I love the Avenue at Thunder Valley and the seats I got for this show were incredible!

  • A great show by a legendary musician

by Steve H on 5/19/25The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort - LincolnRating: 5 out of 5

George Benson is a true master. The feeling when he plays tells of his many decades of experience. His voice is at times a little raspy, but he still hits those moments of silky smoothness, and can convey so much emotion. He's funny and engaging too. I've seen him many times. First around 1977. Always always always a great show.

  • Opening acts suffered from bad sound mix

by Kevin on 5/19/25The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort - LincolnRating: 4 out of 5

The sound mix for opening acts was horrible. Bass and kick were way to loud and booming, like the annoying car that pulls up at an intersection with the volume on 11. I was worried that George would suffer the same fate but b4 he came on his own sound man entered the booth and everything was fine.

  • Outstanding Concert!

by JMAdkins on 5/19/25The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort - LincolnRating: 5 out of 5

This event was excellent- from Demola to Brian McKnight to the great George Benson! What a memorable evening we enjoyed immensely! The Thunder Valley Resort venue was beautiful, comfortable and the acoustics were great!

  • Wonderful show

by MuzikLover on 5/7/25Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

George Benson transcends time and culture providing a wonderful musical experience that all in the family will enjoy. We attended the show at the Wynn Encore theater and it was a full house! The show included some of his well known hits along with a few covers of other beloved songs. A clean, enjoyable program well worth the time and money. A night well spend in Vegas.

  • Just OK

by OldieGoldie on 4/30/25Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 3 out of 5

I saw George Benson many years ago in Vegas and it was a great show with lots of great guitar work. This time, he opted for lots of vocal performances and didn't play guitar as much. A bit disappointing. To his credit, he's 82 and still in great shape both musically and physically.

  • Still INCREDIBLE after all these years!

by Grace on 4/30/25Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

What an amazing show even though he started a bit late ( 20 min). Sang all the classics ( except On Broadway) and had backup singer / percussionist Lilliana sing a Chaka Khan song ( NAILED IT)! What a fun way to spend a Saturday night in Vegas!!

  • Boy did I missed you!

by Rodney w on 4/29/25Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

George put on an amazing performance! His voice was as good as I remembered when I saw him over 40 years ago. Would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys smooth soul. I do it again tomorrow! God bless you Mr.Benson . You can slow down. But pls don't stop.

  • Excellent Retirement Concert!

by Brunogolf on 4/29/25Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve been a fan for over 5 decades and own the majority of his recordings but this is the first time I’ve seen George in concert! He put on a phenomenal show, sounded just like his recordings. His voice is strong , his band was polished and on point for his entire show. The hour and a half show seemed like 10 minutes. Have a wonderful retirement George, you are one of the best!

  • Old skool FUN!

George was as fabulous as ever! He rocked the house and had everyone on their feet - from the baby boomers to the younger Gen Z-ers! It was a great show.

  • Still has the voice

by A fan on 4/29/25Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

I am surprised George is still touring but I am so glad he would still share his greatest hits with us. His singing is still great but of course, his guitar playing, while still great, is not the same as his peak years. It was a very pleasurable evening with George and a competent band.

  • Superb
