About

Ten-time Grammy-award winning artist, George Benson, has the rare distinction of being in the pop consciousness while remaining in the pantheon of jazz greats. With 36 studio albums, and 8 live albums, Benson has emerged a household name best known for the 1976 three-time Grammy-winning album, Breezin', boasting the pop-jazz vocal smash "This Masquerade," which topped the jazz, pop, and R&B charts. The album remains one of the best-selling jazz albums of all time, and has since been certified 3x platnum. His 1980 soul-pop gem, "Give Me The Night," produced by Quincy Jones and written by Rod Temperton (Michael Jackson), summited to the top of the soul single charts. In 2009, Benson was awarded the NEA Jazz Masters Fellowship-- the highest honor that our nation bestows on jazz artists.

Benson is a consummate performer and an adventurous instrumentalist who remains an annual must-see artist. He regularly packs and sells out such hallowed venues as The Hollywood Bowl, Royal Albert Hall, Hampton Court Palace, and Sydney Opera House. Benson is also a marquee artist at many U.S. jazz and international festivals, including Montreux Jazz Fest and NOJF, Umbria and North Sea to name a few.

Benson's recent accomplishments are varied and aplenty. He collaborated with subversive art- pop band, Gorillaz, featuring Blur's Damon Albarn, to co-write and perform on the track "Humility," which has amassed over 100 million YouTube views and counting. In 2021, DJ Steve Aoki remixed Benson's hit "Give Me The Night," with a rugged house beat introducing the irresistible R&B-pop gem to a whole new audience. He was interviewed by Youtube sensation, Rick Beato, earning 900K views in 3 weeks.  His recent albums have earned features and rave reviews in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, American Songwriter, Forbes, Billboard and Newsweek. In 2020, Benson was inducted to jazz bible DownBeat Magazine's Hall Of Fame. The following year he was inducted by music legend Quincy Jones into New Jersey's Hall Of Fame-- an honor from which he received a personal congratulatory note from President Obama.

  • Great music!

by Koalagirl on 6/7/25The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort - LincolnRating: 5 out of 5

The Venue is a convenient location and if you are able to get seats down on the floor, those will be your best bet. Seats up higher are hard to see, even the screens are small and don't help that much. Demola was the first act and he and his band did not disappoint, very entertaining and a lot of fun to watch! Bryan McKnight was next and he also did not disappoint, although I didn't know many of his songs, I still enjoyed his part of the show. Headlining the show was George Benson, he can still belt it out and sounded great! The stories he told between songs were great, so glad I was able to see this show and get excellent floor seats

  • George Benson & Friends May 16 2025

by ArubaJim on 5/26/25The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort - LincolnRating: 5 out of 5

Interesting lineup at Thunder Valley on Friday May 16, 2025 - George Benson (headliner), Brian McKnight and Demola (talented violinist). All were good, crowd was into the music and worth the price of admission. ****Only issue that remains is the entrance and exit to this venue. You MUST walk thru the Smoke-filled casino to get in and out of the venue. I understand the venue wants you to be tempted to gamble, eat or drink but it is beyond annoying to walk thru the gauntlet of smoke and the multitudes of people that are actually eating, drinking, and/or gambling in the casino. There is a large outdoor area that could be utilized for the entrance or at least to exit the facility but it is kept as an 'emergency' corridor. Go Better Thunder Valley.

  • Love George Benson!

by Husani on 5/23/25Pechanga Resort Casino - TemeculaRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first time seeing him, and I loved every bit of it! George’s music is “Feel Good” music. You can’t help but to be in the best of moods at his concert. He is such a blessing to all of us! I wish I could meet him. 🤗

  • My idol for many years

by Loubone on 5/21/25Pechanga Resort Casino - TemeculaRating: 4 out of 5

I was introduced to George Benson in 1979, heading into my freshman year in HS. Been in love with his music ever since, my daughters grew up with his music and always wanted to attend his concert together. Although it brought back many memories of my childhood, it made me realize how old GB and I have become. I wish he would have played his guitar more but was overall happy with his performance, I only noticed 1 original band member but that’s life. Good luck GB and may he play for many more years. Hope to see you soon! yeah

Took me back to the 1970's! Mr. Benson, and he deserves to be call that, was totally off the hook. Awesome !!!

  • Outstanding

by Rose on 5/21/25Pechanga Resort Casino - TemeculaRating: 5 out of 5

George Benson, entertained us for one hour and half. This gifted, blessed performer, sang, played and was the center of the concert. For a man of his age, he was outstanding. The audience and I,, danced, lifted our hands and just had a great time. I have been to a few concerts with other performer who did not sing, dance and entertain the audience. My husband and I really had a nice time.,

  • It was great to see George do what he does best.

by Jules on 5/21/25Pechanga Resort Casino - TemeculaRating: 5 out of 5

My brother and SIL couldn't make this concert so they asked if we wanted to go. Haven't listened to George Benson in years but always thought he was a great musician and performer. He's older so I wasn't sure he'd be as great as he was when he was younger but boy was I pleasantly surprised. He was fantastic at 82! The audience was really into him and it was a great concert. Fun night out.

  • Nice concert

by Ohio RedDawg on 5/20/25The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort - LincolnRating: 5 out of 5

This was the sixth time we'd seen George Benson and he did not disappoint. It was an excellent concert experience. Nice crowd. The Venue is a super nice arena. Good sound. Employees very friendly and helpful. The food we ordered was good. We were impressed. If there was anything to complain about, it would be the parking. It wasn't terrible, but getting out of the garage after the concert was less than optimal. The Venue is as far away from the garage as you can get. You have to walk all the way from one side of the casino to the other which is probably by design. Next time, I will know where to go and what to expect.

  • Excellent concert

by Tatemtots on 5/20/25The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort - LincolnRating: 5 out of 5

We enjoyed all three artists (Demola is a personal friend), Brian McKnight was excellent and George was fabulous! For being over 80 years old, the man can still sing and perform!

  • Venue Restrictions – NOT Senior Friendly

by Ofel on 5/19/25The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort - LincolnRating: 4 out of 5

George Benson is still amazing despite his age. We had a great time especially my husband who's a big fan of him. This is my bday gift for his 65th bday. The only thing is too much restrictions on the venue like the handbag size wherein there's a certain size they only allowed inside even they already checked it. There's no considerations for us 'seniors' who have our medications 💊 inside the bag. There's no reception where to leave or secure them while watching the concert. Some of the security guards are not accommodating and just dismissive. I'm thankful to one guard who patiently and politely explained things to me and even offered water bottle for my medicine. I hope Ticketmaster will include in your post/notifications on the venues restrictions because not all the venues have the same rules. Thanks
