GEORGE BENSON IN CONCERT:
George Benson brings his gifted guitar playing and sonorous voice to every stage he graces, consistently impressing fans at his live performances with his soulful and swinging jazz sound. In concert Benson unleashes a furious flurry of melodic guitar mastery on supercharged renditions of standards like “Take Five”, “On Broadway”, and the perennial favorite “This Masquerade”. He’s also a skilled band leader, hanging back with his infectious smile as he lets the talented members of his top-notch ensemble execute moving, eloquent solos. Ticket buyers can expect a jaw-dropping display of six-string showmanship every time George Benson brings his funky and fluid fretwork on tour.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Pittsburgh-born George Benson was a child prodigy who had already cut his first single by the age of ten. He spent the remainder of his adolescence training under organist Jack McDuff before making his debut as a bandleader with the 1964 album The New Boss Guitar of George Benson. He continued to climb the ranks of the jazz world, even appearing on the track “Paraphernalia” from Miles Davis’ 1968 album Miles in the Sky. The virtuosic Benson scored a huge crossover hit in 1976 when he pulled double-duty on vocals and guitar for “This Masquerade”, which took home the Grammy for Record of the Year. With the encouragement of Quincy Jones, Benson explored vocals during the ‘70s and ‘80s, leading to the most commercially successful period of his career. He returned to his instrumental jazz roots at the dawn of the ‘90s and toured with renowned contemporaries like Chet Atkins and Al Jarreau into the new millennium. Ten Grammys and countless breathtaking solos later, George Benson still gives audience members an unparalleled listening experience with his amazing instrumental prowess and undeniable grooves.

George benson concert was simply amazing, nice venue e great location.
The theatre was spectacular with the acoustics spot on! The band was rocking it and George still has it going on with his guitar playing. Sadly his voice does crack from time to time singing all of his hits. However he is 80 after all and still touring! Great song selection with great memories from each hit. Thank you George and The Encore Theatre at Wynn for putting on such an excellent show!
Best Concert Ever! George Benson is Funny, Entertaining, engaging and The Best guitarist that ever lived! The band is extremely talented, and they put on a great show. Worth every penny.
This was my first GB performance and he didn’t disappoint. He sang all of his hits and more. He is really a great performer. I miss this raw talent. Love this show.❤️❤️
The venue was 5 star, clean and comfortable. George was great, better than I expected.
George Benson put on an incredible performance. The only regret I have is that it took me so long to see him in concert. What was even more impressive was that there were people from different stages and ages in life. It's always a treat when someone performs and anyone can enjoy the show. Mr. Benson is still one of the greatest!
I wish George Benson had a residency at the Wynn for at least a couple months. I would go to his concert again and invite my friends and family. He and his band and Lilliana were entertaining. Age didn’t affect his musical talents! I hope the Wynn will review these comments.
For being 80 years old, I give George Benson credit for putting on a great show. He has good stage banter, hits most of the notes and plays guitar as well as can be expected. He has a 2nd guitarist to split the leads and backup singers to help him with the harmonies. He is simply a legend !!!
Sound quality was great, George still great at 80. Maybe not all the seats are this cramped, but I sat in the mezzanine. These seats are smaller than any economy airline carrier seat. This Wynn venue is cramped, I would never go to a show there again.
