About

Genesis is one of the world's biggest selling and most successful bands of all time. They have sold an estimated 100 million albums and have played to sold-out stadiums and arenas all over the world for decades.

The evolution of Genesis is unique, their sound developed and progressed throughout their career and with multiple line-up alterations in the early years, the classic line-up of Tony Banks, Phil Collins, and Mike Rutherford took shape in 1976.

'And Then There Were Three' (1978) was the first album the band released as a three-piece and spawned the single 'Follow You Follow Me' which was their first UK top ten and US top 30 single and proved to be the start of huge commercial global success. The albums 'Duke' (1980), 'Abacab' (1981), 'Genesis' (1983), 'Invisible Touch' (1986) and 'We Can't Dance' (1991) followed for the trio, alongside almost constant global stadium tours cementing the band as one of the most successful of all time.

Tony, Phil and Mike reunited again as a band in 2007 after almost 10 years for the Turn It On Again Tour which went on to be one of the biggest grossing tours on the year playing sold-out stadiums around the world.

2021 will see Genesis tour for the first time in 14 years, in North America, the UK, and Ireland.

  • The Last Domino

    by Michael B on 11/18/21United Center - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

The concert was really good. The concert featured a great background and light show that used Phil Collins intensity and dramatic flourish to overcome his physical limitations. Very well done and entertaining for a band that started in the early 1970s.

  • Fan recommended!

United Center has amazing sound system. Genesis sounded like an older version of themselves, but still rocked it! I applaud Phil for still touring and entertaining, doing what he loves. You can hear his age in his voice for sure but that did not stop me from enjoying the concert! I wish they had sung a few more of their real popular songs, so I was disappointed there. But to see these guys still rocking was fantastic!

  • Flawless

by Daniel on 11/18/21United Center - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Apart from the Chicago traffic on the way from Wisconsin, everything from the parking to the event itself was great - got out super quick too! The band played for 2 hours 20 minutes and sounded phenomenal - light show was perfect - strange not to see Phil play drums but his son Nick has some mad skills. All in all was perfect.

  • Great concert

by Feeling stronger everyday! on 11/18/21United Center - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

First, they sounded great, Phil Collins son on drums was fantastic! The effects were very cool, excellent show. 2nd, typical fan complaint, they did not play “In the Air Tonight” or “Abacab”. I feel for Phil Collins, he was noticeably uncomfortable b/c of the nerve damage suffered, but he sounded good and soldiered on.

  • Show was awesome. Phil sounded great!

Great stage show. Phils son kicked butt on the drums. Set list included all my favorites!

Phil Collins is still amazing. They graphics for each song were very powerful. It was so good to see the band back together. Great great show.

  • Genesis - Opening Night in Chicago!

    by T. L. on 11/18/21United Center - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

This was my fourth time seeing Genesis and this was possibly the best one! Really enjoyed the stripped-down acoustic performances in the middle of the show. Not sure any other drummer could have filled in quite like Nick Collins. Great entertainment!

  • Genesis revisited

by Mr Bill on 11/18/21United Center - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Everything was better than expected. From parking to getting into the concert as a whole. I’m an older individual and I believe Phil Collins was fantastic. To expect any better than it was would be totally unrealistic.

  • Revisiting Genesis

by Chicago Padraig on 11/18/21United Center - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was great! Loved the set list, great light show, Banks and Rutherford looked the same but with White hair. Collins looked old … emotions were all over the place … admiration for his strength, pity for a man who has had it hard and continues to suffer, joy to see a father and son doing what they love together, sadness knowing this is the last time we will see them in concert together, cringe when he seemed a little off, nostalgic when he hit it perfectly. The show was great … the seats were cramped. I keep forgetting that, I hate going to the United Center because of their seating. Been listening to Genesis for the last three days and wearing the shirt I bought … I’m such a geek. Have a great day!

  • Once in a lifetime.

This was an amazing experience. Being a 1980's teen, I grew up listening to Genesis. They didn't disappoint. The concert was a good mix of the two distinctive styles of the band. Although Phil Collins has to sit throughout the concert, it doesn't hinder his ability. He still sounds great!

  • First time for both things

by Random Guy on 11/18/21United Center - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I had never been to the United Center and it was actually done well. From the people working inside to the people working the traffic leaving the event. Nicely done to everyone!! The show was amazing as well. Have always been a fan of Genesis and it was such a great time. I brought my dad down for the show for his birthday which was back in May so again and awesome experience. Thank u

The last time I saw Genesis was in the 80's thought that was the best show I ever saw. This CONCERT was the best show, AMAZING! The light show, Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford, Daryl Stuermer were very AMAZING! I am from the Milwaukee area. I have met Daryl Stuermer! This concert brought all the memories back. I couldn't talk at the end of the night because I sang to every song! I was so Happy Phil was there. I wanted to Marry that man in the 80's! Very Happy I could see them again. They sounded great!!!

  • Great time. Great music. Great facility for the concert.

Stone oven pizza was awesome and fresh. Great price. Seats were great for the stage view.

  • Bittersweet farewell

    by Davidr1 on 11/18/21United Center - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Having been a Genesis fan for over 40 years this truly signify the end. Phil Collins while I admire his stamina and trying to give his fans one last shower to see him on stage in his current physical state was heartbreaking to say the least I have the ultimate an upmost respect and admiration for the man and his work yet it’s very difficult to watch him currently. Mike and Tony were excellent and his son Nicholas was truly the star of the show next to his father. I thank you gentlemen for all that you’ve given all of us for so many years

  • Genesis, The Last Domino?

    by Dundee07 on 11/18/21United Center - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

This is one of my favorite groups. I saw Phil Collins when he was last at the United Center, doing a solo tour. Tho I had a hard time understanding what was being said, the music was wonderful.

Liked the band. Hate the venue. The United Center in Chicago has to be the worst place to see any event. Smallest seats of any place I’ve ever seen a concert at(around 275 concerts). I’m sure they need the extra revenue so they’re basketball team can finish in third place instead of fourth. I will never, ever go there again, for anything.

  • Great show

Phil Collins with all his health issues still rocks. So many great songs. Great to see vaccinated people getting back to normal.

  • A Super Great Concert!

by Little Linda on 11/18/21United Center - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I had never seen Genesis before since I was a high school student in the early 1980s. I was so glad I attended this show in Chicago (I live in the Milwaukee area) with a good friend. We both thoroughly enjoyed this concert. I also found it great that they had some need background videos, but I won't spoil it here by saying what the best one for a song here. You just have to see the show. I also found Phil Collin's son, Nick's drumming to be very competitive with his fathers when Phil was still able to play drums. The songs brought back some good memories of my life in the 1980s through early 1990s. I recommend seeing this concert if anyone has a chance to go. Even if you have to do what I did, wait for the less expensive tickets to be up front for purchase, other than looking for the least costly ones when the tickets first go on sale to the public.
