About

Genesis is one of the world's biggest selling and most successful bands of all time. They have sold an estimated 100 million albums and have played to sold-out stadiums and arenas all over the world for decades.

The evolution of Genesis is unique, their sound developed and progressed throughout their career and with multiple line-up alterations in the early years, the classic line-up of Tony Banks, Phil Collins, and Mike Rutherford took shape in 1976.

'And Then There Were Three' (1978) was the first album the band released as a three-piece and spawned the single 'Follow You Follow Me' which was their first UK top ten and US top 30 single and proved to be the start of huge commercial global success. The albums 'Duke' (1980), 'Abacab' (1981), 'Genesis' (1983), 'Invisible Touch' (1986) and 'We Can't Dance' (1991) followed for the trio, alongside almost constant global stadium tours cementing the band as one of the most successful of all time.

Tony, Phil and Mike reunited again as a band in 2007 after almost 10 years for the Turn It On Again Tour which went on to be one of the biggest grossing tours on the year playing sold-out stadiums around the world.

2021 will see Genesis tour for the first time in 14 years, in North America, the UK, and Ireland.

The concert was amazing. Saw Phil Collins three years ago and Genesis did not disappoint. My husband and I were so happy to attend the concert. Bucket list for us.

  • Fantastic!

by Taylor on 11/18/21United Center - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

This was a great performance. The amount of talent these men have is astounding and the fact that they can still do it now that they’re older is even more so. I was not disappointed with this event and I would not say no to going again.

  • VIP Dinner package for Genesis show at United Center Chicago

by Abbie Willow on 11/18/21United Center - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

We weren't thrilled at first to have to get the VIP dinner package to get the seats we wanted, but no regrets now! Free parking at prime location, awesome VIP swag (including souvenir program) no line at special merch stand, great food & dinner with other real fans, free drinks including double top shelf to carry to seats, and escort to seats 15-30 minutes to show time. Skipped all the lines! And as for the show - no words, just tears of joy!

  • The concert was beyond amazing!!

by Kimmiel on 11/18/21United Center - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was beyond amazing!! I’ve always been a huge Genesis fan and when we saw Phil Collins in 2018, I thought that was it. My husband and I drove 5 hours to see the show. They didn’t miss a beat! Yes, the guys are older but it was a blast!

  • Bucket List

by Efusco on 11/18/21United Center - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

Genesis was a blast and very much worth the trip, price, & effort to see them. Glad that to enter the facility you were required to show either proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test in the previous 48 hours, and masking was required for the entire show. Getting this out of the way-Phil looked rough! Came out in a jogging suit using a cane & immediately sat in a swivel chair and that’s where he stayed for almost the entire show, standing up only twice.Tony & Mike looked good. They all sounded great, even Phil. The band played a set of mostly their older, deeper, and predominantly instrumental songs hitting pretty much every album best I could tell. Some of their more popular and commonly recognized stuff was sprinkled in such that I think most casual fans would be satisfied. Excellent sound and light production. Missed hearing a few of my favorites, namely Dodo & Abacab. None of Phil’s solo work was played. All in all about 2.5 hour show. Main set "Duke's Intro" ("Behind the Lines/"Duke's End") "Turn It On Again" "Mama” "Land of Confusion" "Home by the Sea" / "Second Home by the Sea" Medley: "Fading Lights" (minus the instrumental section) "The Cinema Show" (instrumental section only) "Afterglow" Acoustic set: "That's All” "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway” (truncated) "Follow You Follow Me" "Misunderstanding" (replaced "Duchess" on 15 November 2021) "No Son of Mine" "Firth of Fifth" (instrumental section only) "I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe)" "Domino" "Throwing It All Away" "Tonight, Tonight, Tonight" (truncated) "Invisible Touch" Encore "I Can't Dance" "Dancing With the Moonlit Knight" (intro) / "The Carpet Crawlers"

  • Genesis in Chicago

by JP on 11/18/21United Center - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

What an awesome concert! First time seeing Genesis perform. Phil Collins seemed like a storyteller just hanging out. He still has it though. Crowd was good. Atmosphere was excellent. A must see concert.

First time I had a chance to see Genesis on the stage and even turned over 40 years once I discovered this group, I fell like at this first moment. Concert unforgettable, thrilling and great audience!

  • One happy guy

by Rudeman on 11/18/21United Center - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

There will only ever be one real Genesis rock group and I was at the opening night of their North America tour. While aging isn’t always kind to the human body, the group still gave us an awesome show. We can always find things to nitpick but that isn’t always necessary. A special shout out to Nic Collins. Your drumming was outstanding. Thank you Genesis for a great evening.

  • Really satisfied

by Sturg on 11/18/21United Center - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

This was a far better experience than I expected. The UC did a fantastic job if getting us into the arena without delay. The attendees were mature making it very enjoyable. The show was great, yet a reminder that we are all getting older, yet the music is still the best ever.

  • It Was Genesis!

by SM on 11/18/21United Center - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

It's on me, I knew it was Genesis but hoped for more Phil. Come on, we all waited for In the Air Tonight?! Negative. But Genesis was worth the see, great set and totally enjoyable. Splurge on it!

  • AMAZING Venue and Genesis Shows

by DoubleOhGlo on 11/18/21United Center - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

United Center was a great place for me being unable to walk long distances. Was able to park in Lot G which us available for handicapped individuals and then get wheel chair assistance to our VIP dinner and to our seats and back to our car after Genesis was fabulous as usual especially the light show.

  • Genesis concert was supberb!

    by Dave C. on 11/18/21United Center - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The light show was incredible as their cameras brought the musicians right to even the people in the cheaper seats. Musicianship was excellent like always and they played for 2 1/2 hours without a break. Phil's voice hasn't suffered as much as I had expected. He is truly amazing! Terrific Show!!!

Loved everything about this concert! It was awesome seeing Genesis back on the concert stage, including Nicholas Collins as drummer. Phil may have been limited in his ability to move around the stage, but his voice was strong and the entire performance was magical.
