One of the best road shows of a Broadway Musical we have seen.
The performance Young Frankenstien was amazing! It was the first time for me to see this play and we enjoyed it so much. The show was hilarious and completed a great weekend for us. Thanks to all the preformers and everyone who worked with the show, you guys did a great job!
We had a great time at our viewing of the production; we do wish there was a better crowb there(but it was Sunday afternoon). The staff of the theater is exceptional and more than helpful. The show itself was simply good fun, in particular for me the characters of Igor and Inga stand out. The music and vocal prowess of the cast was excellent and nothing replicates seeing talent 'live' right in front of you. The use of the strobe light/dance segment was a great scene of the show. More Mel Brooks please.
This show had everything you expect from a Mel Brooks production. They managed to take a classic film and bring it successfully to the stage. The score was good, especially the modern take on 'Roll Se Hay' and 'He Vas My Boyfriend'; I believe that Teri Garr and Cloris Leachman would be proud of these two hilarious numbers in the show. The lady who played Elizabeth was quite funny; her renditions of 'Please Don't Touch Me' and 'Deep Love' had us rolling in the aisles. Dr. Frankenstein, Igor and Inga all delivered first class performances. The entire cast is just an all-around talented bunch!! I would highly recommend this show. Smart, raunchy humor in the classic Mel Brooks way, coupled with some entertaining music and dance sequences, make for a hilarious afternoon at the theater.
I loved the show and don't mind a lewd joke now and then, I can laugh with the best, but this show was not something I would EVER take my teenage son to or daughter for that matter. There was a song about Tits, which could have been left out. It didn't add anything to the show. There were other lewd parts also, but that one really stands out. I enjoyed the show, but I just didn't enjoy the undertones of degrading women. Yes, I know you can say 'It was the era the show was done in', but I would have enjoyed it more with less of that.
All the cliches you know and love are there.."Put back the candle." "That's Frahn-ken-STEEN." "What knockers!" And of course, "Sweet mystery of live at last I've found you!" Plus clever music and terrific dancing. It's a bit bawdier than the movie, so you may want to leave younger family members at home. This was a great cast with stand-out performances by the Doctor, Igor, and The Creature.
Loved this play, it was hilarious...but what else do you expect from mel brooks?!
I thought the cast did an amazing performance. Their voices were wonderful and acting was great. So glad I went. I am not a huge Mel Brooks fan,but enjoyed them movie so wanted to see the performance.
The play was outstanding. The singing was impeccable and the script was hilarious!!! That is a play that I will definitely go and see again.
