  • 50's concert was good.

by WestCatholic on 10/22/13Wildwood Convention Center - WildwoodRating: 3 out of 5

Everyone was really good but the Stylistics were on too long. They sang a lot of songs I never heard and I heard them all. It started to sound like one long song. Other than that it was a good show.

Loved the show. The Juniors, Lou Christie, Gary Lewis, Stytlistics, Drifters were all great. Russell Thomkins and Lou Christie can still hit those high notes.

  • Gary Lewis, Billy J. Kramer bring back the memorie

by AB56 on 10/14/11B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Two of my favorite 60s performers combined to put on a brilliant show at B.B. King's Blues Club in NYC on 10/09/11. Billy J. Kramer may no longer be able to hit the high notes but his voice was in good shape and he thrilled the crowd with his catalogue of hits, almost all of which were Lennon-McCartney "castoffs." Gary Lewis ran through his catalogue of big hits, too, and he was in truly fine form. While Gary Lewis, even in his heyday, never had that great voice, he can still carry a tune and he sounded as good as ever, too. Whether they were performing solo or singing together, both artists showed that they are still great showmen. Kramer seemed a bit nervous throughout his set but Gary Lewis was the consummate musical performer. A good...no, no, a GREAT time was had by all.

I brought four guests: my girlfriend and her daughter (30); my daughter (26); and a British friend (70). Everybody had a great time and really loved the BB King venue. I'm familiar with British Invasion retros and I particularly like listening to Frank Annunziata.

  • Time Stands Still

by sentachudak on 5/8/11Bears Den At Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel - Niagara FallsRating: 5 out of 5

I did feel like time was standing still in the 60's for me. Gary Lewis and the Playboys was my oldest brother's favorite group and I remember listening to them all the time because he could afford to buy albums but I couldn't so I really got into this group. My brother now lives in Indianapolis and when I saw that they were coming here, I bought the tickets and called my brother and told him to come for the concert.... and he did, and we had a GREAT time. Although the "Playboys" are not the originals, they put their own originality on whatever they sang. Enthusiastic, energenic, talented are a few adjectives that would describe every member of this group and it showed in every facet of their performance.

Great show! Great crowd! Great time! Gary is a great musician with a great personality. He learned his excellent showmanship from the best, his father. Gary had a very talented backup band which he nicely showcased individually. His playlist was superb, however, I would have liked that he included "Jill".

  • Gary Lewis and the Playboys = Genuine artists!

The show was awesome. I got the tickets for my mother for her birthday and she really enjoyed herself. Gary is a awesome performer and the members of his band are amazing! They sounded great and were very down to earth and appreciative of their Fans at the meet and greet. Overall it was a great performance and they made my Moms day :)

I love listening to the Playboys and Gary Lewis. They are a high energy 60's group who are not only great players but have tight harmonies!! I highly recommend seeing this group when they are in a town near you. I especially like all the energy the band has on stage. Gary tells funny stories and involves the audience in the show!

  • Gary Lewis rocked the Red

by RobertAC on 11/14/09Red Robinson Show Theatre - CoquitlamRating: 5 out of 5

Gary Lewis and the Playboys put on an outstanding performance Fridiay night at the Red Robinson Theatre. The band was tight and the hits flowed one after another. We also liked the clips shown on the screen before and during the show with his Dad, Jerry Lewis. The Liverpool Invasion band including Billy J Kramer, Joey Molland of Badfinger and Terry Sylvester of the Hollies performed oustanding sets featuring songs from each group. Overall we had a fabulous time reliving the 60's.
