Gary Lewis, Billy J. Kramer bring back the memorie
by AB56 on 10/14/11B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5Two of my favorite 60s performers combined to put on a brilliant show at B.B. King's Blues Club in NYC on 10/09/11. Billy J. Kramer may no longer be able to hit the high notes but his voice was in good shape and he thrilled the crowd with his catalogue of hits, almost all of which were Lennon-McCartney "castoffs."
Gary Lewis ran through his catalogue of big hits, too, and he was in truly fine form. While Gary Lewis, even in his heyday, never had that great voice, he can still carry a tune and he sounded as good as ever, too.
Whether they were performing solo or singing together, both artists showed that they are still great showmen. Kramer seemed a bit nervous throughout his set but Gary Lewis was the consummate musical performer.
A good...no, no, a GREAT time was had by all.
