About

"I ain't really happy," sings Gary Allan on "Get Off on the Pain," the down-home masterstroke that begins and provides the name for his new MCA Nashville collection, "until the sky starts driving rain." Unhesitatingly frank, mercilessly guitar-crazed, it's the rocked-out country confession of a smart guy drawn to what the rest of the world calls wrong roads and long shots, or complains of as aching bones and stubbornness, or — as Allan sings in a spectacular stretch of drawn-out soulful vowels — underestimates as dark horses. And as the California-born superstar releases his eighth studio album, it's about the most Gary Allan piece anyone could imagine.

  • Great night with Gary Allen

by Butch on 4/2/25DeVos Performance Hall - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

Warm up band was excellent. Only a short wait for Gary Allen to set up. He was fantastic. Lots of good music. All of his old his plus some I had not heard before. Non stop performance. An interesting side note there was a severe weather alert early on in the show. This is in Grand Rapids, MI. We had to “shelter in place” which basically meant stay in our seats! Would see Gary Allen again in a heartbeat!

Gary Allen puts on a great show. This was the second time I’ve seen him and he never disappoints.

  • Music too loud

by Debster on 3/31/25Truist Arena - Highland HeightsRating: 2 out of 5

I love, love Gary Allan’s voice but sadly it was drowned out by the music. Even the drums were too loud. You could barely hear him sing which was a shame. Please turn down the music so you can hear that Great voice that he has….

  • Music Louder Than The Artist

by TAK on 3/31/25Truist Arena - Highland HeightsRating: 3 out of 5

Unfortunately most of Gary Allen’s music was almost unrecognizable! The music supporting him was too loud for his voice! It appeared that the music was set for a full arena instead of the concert’s use of only half the stadium!

  • Best show ever

by Jamie on 3/31/25Truist Arena - Highland HeightsRating: 5 out of 5

Put on one HELL of a show!! Will definitely go see him again!!!

  • Show ok…arena was awful

by Brice on 3/31/25Truist Arena - Highland HeightsRating: 3 out of 5

The show was ok. As with most aging artists, the music is louder than the vocals. The arena was horrible. The seats while padded, offered no leg room. Every time the person in front of me sat down, they were banging my knees. When seated like sardines, elbow to elbow, and no leg room, two hours in a chair is too much.

Gary Allan is great in concert! We had great seats with a perfect view. Truist Arena was the easiest parking we've ever had arriving and leaving! All in all, it was a wonderful evening!

Not a good venue (at least for concerts). No big screens. Terrible sound system.

  • Good experience

by C12 on 3/25/25Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts - Moran Theater - JacksonvilleRating: 4 out of 5

This is the 3rd time we’ve seen Gary on this tour and this was the best of the three. Good audience participation and large crowd. Sound was clear (a little too loud). Theater is very nice but drink prices are crazy (double vodka and coke almost 29.00 dollars). Overall good experience.

  • Awesome concert

by Savage57 on 3/25/25Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts - Moran Theater - JacksonvilleRating: 5 out of 5

We saw Gary Allan in Jacksonville at the Performing Arts Center. Awesome concert, so good that the audience was charged from the moment he came out until it ended. Gary's voice was amazing as always, and the band was fantastic ! He played every one of his hits and a bunch we didn't know but enjoyed just the same. We've always loved his music and we were glad that we decided to see him live. So much so that we'd see him again in another venue if we could. Thanks Gary Allan for the great music that you've shared with us all ! Kudos to the Performing Arts Center in Jacksonville too, great venue.

  • Fantastic

by The Kirbee on 3/25/25Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts - Moran Theater - JacksonvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Gary Allan is an amazing singer, songwriter and musician. The set list included just about every hit. And everyone in the crowd was singing along to all his notable songs. He engaged with the crowd and had us laughing, hooting and hollering. I hope he returns to Jax so I can try to see him again.

  • Great show, wasn’t a bad seat in the house!
