"I ain't really happy," sings Gary Allan on "Get Off on the Pain," the down-home masterstroke that begins and provides the name for his new MCA Nashville collection, "until the sky starts driving rain." Unhesitatingly frank, mercilessly guitar-crazed, it's the rocked-out country confession of a smart guy drawn to what the rest of the world calls wrong roads and long shots, or complains of as aching bones and stubbornness, or — as Allan sings in a spectacular stretch of drawn-out soulful vowels — underestimates as dark horses. And as the California-born superstar releases his eighth studio album, it's about the most Gary Allan piece anyone could imagine.
THE WEATHER WAS PERFECT. GARY ALLAN WAS PERFECT. MY DATE WAS PERFECT.
This was one of the best performances I have seen. Starting with Williams Riley, they were entertaining and interacted well with the crowd that was there. Craig Morgan absolutely rocked the place. Playing alot of his greatest hits and a couple new ones. He was funny and sounded perfect. Gary was right on all evening, having a great time singing and interacting with the crowd. I would love to see all three again very soon!!!!
I have been to alot of shows and alot of country shows... but this is one of the best shows I have ever seen. The show started at 730 and ended around 11 and was electric. I would go again and will be trying to find another venue to hit this show again. Well worth the money.
I went and saw Gary Allan last year at the Fraze last summer. This show absolutely blew that show away! I would absolutely love to see Gary come back to the PNC Pavilion again! Gary you rock!! Love you!
Simply a terrific show!! I was close enough to smell the incense he had burning beside the candles on the stage! (Nice touch.) The band did a great job playing and I was just dancin and wavin with the other fans in the Left PIT !!!!! Thanks for comin out to play, Gary!! See ya next time.
This was the best concert I have been to ever! I have been to a lot of concerts but this is the only one that ended that I wasn't ready to leave! So amazing, if you get a chance you should catch his show!
The show was terrific. It was a great mix of Gary Allan's music. Some old, some newer, and two great new songs. Can't wait for the next CD. The band was great. Gary seemed very appreciative of great crowd. If you get the chance, so see Gary Allan.
It was a beautiful evening weather wise at Riverbend Music Center and when Gary Allan took the stage it made a beautiful evening into hot one!!! Gary is at the top of his game and he proved it tonight. The crowd NEVER sat down although not singing as loudly as I thought to the sing along songs. There are songs that are very close to Garys heart and you could tell by the way he put his whole heart into them when singing them. "It's Not So Bad." was the first one and the second one being "Life Ain't Always Beautiful." It was like you were feeling exactly what he was. He packed the show with so many of hits and sang them just like he recorded them except for one which he went acoustic with which I'm not sure the fans agreed with it. the song "Right Where I Need To Be.' I personally would like the upbeat version of that myself. That really gets the crowd rockin. Otherwise my only criticism would be to tell Gare to eat a sandwhich he's looking a little thin these days. If he doesn't start playing bigger venues and selling them out I would say America has a hearing problem. I would say Gary Allan is at his peak and is heading to the very top. He has his own voice not a sound alike and his own style to his music. My favorite part of the show was the song "The One" when the band stepped up to the front of the stage with a few instuments while Gary sang a soft version with them backing him up. What a great blast from the past.
Both Gary Allan and Riverbend-PNC venue were AWESOME!!!
Gary Allan is always great - I can't believe he doesn't play huge arenas! He is my favorite country artist - we went all the way to Cincinnati from Atlanta just for the show. Craig Morgan was outstanding as well! Great, great concert!
He ALWAYS puts on a killer show. I have yet to ever be disappointed. However the folks next to me and behinde were lame. They all just sat with no emotions. That was nuts. But I had a blast, as always.
really couldn't understand what he was singing ,the sound sucks!
We had excellent seats in the second row which were padded. That was an added bonus at the venue. Gary Allan and the guys always have a top notch performance. They are by far the best country music show. They don't have a lot of glitz and glam but they do jam. This is my second Gary Allan concert this year and I'm hoping to go to a few more. Great value for the show. Gary is great on the guitar!
Gary Allan is simply the BEST artist in the country genre today. He writes from the soul, he sings with the utmost passion and intensity. I love his music because he loves his music. He's not in the business to get rich, he's not in it for the fame, it's because he loves the music. It shows in every song, on every album, at every show. His songs are for the everyday person and the everyday life. If you listen to an album and don't find a part of yourself in each song, you better start listening to somebody else!!
Great concert! Gary Allan was great, but Craig Morgan needs to be a headliner all on his own! He is a fantastic performer and puts on a fun show!!!
how exciting!!!! gary in the new pnc center. as always gary does a wonderful job, singing his oldrer songs and including new ones. his accoustic guitar song was something different. gary attracts women as well as men. they can sing right along. if you get a chance see him!!!!!!
This is the third time I seen Gary Allan and he is amazing each and every time. I love seeing him perform... hes amazing!!
He puts on the most outstanding show I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot.
Gary does such a great show!!! Our seats were amazing...we were in the pit. Definitetly would see him everytime he comes to town!!
You could just tell Gary Allan was having a good time during this show. He was smiling a lot and interacting with the crowd a lot. He was not just going through the motions. He put a lot of energy into the show and got a lot of energy back from the crowd. People on their feet from start to finish. Awesome show!
