We've always enjoyed Prairie Home Companion because of Garrison Keillor. We weren't sure what to expect without the backup crew to assist with stories and songs. We were not disappointed! He was amazing! Over 2 hours of stories and songs. Everyone left with a smile on his/her face.
What a remarkable man! nearly 2 1/2 hours on stage, alone, no breaks or intermission! A microphone, stool and his amazing gift of story telling-and singing! He would go seamlessly from one story to the next, always simple but touching, funny and many times, deep. He engaged the audience immediately and never let us go! A true legend with an amazing gift! So glad we were able to see him!
Garrison Keillor is an American treasure. His wit, humor, singing, and stories go on for over two hours. There were three things on the stage: a microphone, bar stool and Garrison Keillor. The way he streams out stories and goes from one song to the next is fantastic. If he is performing in your town do everything you can to see him.
Over two hours of amazing and hilarious story telling with a sing-a-long!
May Garrison Keillor live long and prosper. A master of mental imagery, Garrison took us through many adventures of his life and friends from Lake WoeBegone where the men are handsome and the women are strong.
90 minutes of immersive tales and laughter. That's all. It was a wonderful experience.
Love his stories, unfortunately for some reason, I was expecting to see prairie Home Companion with Garrison hosting. Didn't discover that wasn't going to happen until arriving.
I was a little hesitant about going to see Garrison. I loved "Pairie Home Companion" but the last time I saw him in a one man show, I was disappointed. He didn't disappoint this time. He entertained with his eloquence and his sense of humor and even brought out is tales from Lake Wobegon. This is the seventh time I have seen GK and he keeps getting better.
Incredible night with a one of a kind story teller. I took two friends that had no idea who he was and they thanked me at the end of the evening for making them fans and had a great time.
Enjoyed his comfortable presence, endless stories, and especially the group singing. Didn't enjoy his risqué story. It crossed a line for me.
He is one of America's greatest, humorists and story tellers with an fine grasp and use of language and an incredibly fascinating mind. We couldn't have asked for more. He spoke for over two hours, never once taking a break. It was just himself, a microphone and a stool. And his use of the two props and body movements was also fascinating. Also amazing was how he got the audience to sing two or three time during the course of his stories.
Garrison provided two hours of smart funny stories and observations. If you're a fan of prairie home companion fan you will just absolutely love it
fantastic time and a great bunch of laughs, and some things to actually think about. Shared the moment with my daughter and she had a fantastic time as well.
Hate to make this review about the venue, but the seats were horrible! Worse than airplane seating and that's bad. And it was so warm, we were getting nauseous. I don't think I will go to this venue again. As to the show, we've been fans of Garrison for our adult life, and wouldn't have missed seeing him live again. But he seemed tired and rambling, and resorted to an inordinate amount of singing -- since it was post-election, and we know how he really feels about a Trump-led world, it was surprising that he chose to limit his commentary to a metaphor. I love him and wish him well.
We really enjoyed Garrison Keillor. It was such a mix of humor and inspiration. The group singing was so inspiring. Really unifiying. Good itming.
over two hours of just Garrison, a chair and his mic. Amazing, I haven't laughed so hard since before the election. Poignant, brilliant, sad and often piercing in his delivery. "He is the Mark Twain of our times."
If Garrison's soothing voice isn't enough reason to see his show, his two plus hours of story telling is worthwhile. He had me in tears when opening by singing My Country 'Tis of Thee and God Bless America in a calming and almost hushed voice with crowd participation--such a gift. Garrison always selects appropriate topics mixed with levity to provoke thought and bring calm. So very glad I finally got to see him since I missed my chance while living in Minnesota.
One man show - fun audience participation and ties to Lake Woebegone. Fabulous evening!
One guy alone on the stage enthralled the audience non-stop for almost two hours. We laughed and sang with him. Worth every penny!
