About Garden Brothers Circus

Garden Brothers Circus on Tour

You don’t become North America’s longest-running circus troupe by resting on your laurels, and for its 2021 extravaganza, the Garden Brothers Circus stages its most extreme, over-the-top show ever. Garden Brothers Nuclear Circus: Humans Gone Wild features such breathtaking feats as the “Human Slingshot,” “Motorcycles in the Sphere of Fear,” and the infamous “Wheel of Death” (a massive, vertically rotating structure on which acrobats perform death-defying stunts). But it’s not just humans going wild in this show - the Olate Performing Dogs (as seen on America’s Got Talent) will also make an appearance. And of course, it wouldn’t be a Garden Brothers Circus without such classic carnival attractions as jugglers, trapeze artists and a demonstration from the world’s strongest man. Bring the kids early to meet the performers, get face-painted like a superhero and take a ride down the Monster Slide.

Garden Brothers Background

America had the Ringling Bros., and Canada had the Garden Brothers. Both began as small family businesses before setting the gold standard for big-top entertainment in the 20th century. But with the Ringlings’ circus leaving town for good in 2017, the Garden Brothers now stand as North America’s longest-running carnival revue. Its roots date back to the 1920s, when Scottish emigré William Garden and his wife Jean began touring as a song-and-dance act called Garden & Shaw, sowing the seeds for the official launch of the Garden Bros. Circus in 1938. After William passed away in 1954, his Montreal-based sons Ian and Bill assumed control of the operation and turned it into a touring juggernaut, with Ian playing double duty as animal trainer and ringmaster, while his wife Micheline oversaw the technical aspects. After three successful decades at the helm, the couple passed down the reins to their children Richard and Ian Jr., who eventually handed them off to a cousin, ensuring that the Garden Bros. Circus has remained in the family after a century of spectacles.

  • major work needed

The show was shorter than usual. They did intermission after 2 acts. I think it was so they could make money off of food/toys. All acts did not perform well. They had to stop an act because the motorcycle blew out. Also one of the elephants look like they had a tumor or cyst on the hip. I don't think I will be going back to a garden bro circus.

  • Definitely exceeded my expectations!

We took a group of 20 girls for my daughter's birthday. We were able to get free tickets from local businesses and schools to cover half the cost of admission, and purchased adult discount tickets online! tt was only a one ring circus, but all the acts were good. I especially liked the magician, gymnast, swinging motorcycle stunts, and acrobats. Intermission was too long- 45 min or more to let everyone spend money on elephant rides and bounce houses. Our group of kids got restless waiting, and we had to leave early to make our dinner reservations.

Garden brothers Circus does a great job at incorporating new age aspects to entertain a modern world. One of the best I've attended this far.

  • Circus was long and mistakes were seen

    by Clint10 on 1/31/17Germain Arena - EsteroRating: 2 out of 5

Show was ok but what the intermission was 45 minutes long. That was way way to long. Just for them to earn another buck. I dont plan on returning

Wish there was more animals at the circus! Upsetting to know the elephants have their last show based upon hearsay and video's that could have happened anywhere else.

  • Garden Bros. Circus was GREAT!

We took my grandchildren to the Garden Brothers Circus and we were pleasantly surprised! It was a really great circus! The acts were top notch! A few years ago we took the kids to the Barnum and Bailey Circus and were not very impressed. The Garden Brothers Circus was much better! The grandkids loved the train ride and other activities offered before the circus started. Granted, it was expensive - but this is a rare treat , not something we would do every weekend. The talent was superb.

No disrespect to the performers but the show didn't come close on any level to matching the cost.

Biggest waist of time and money. So disappointed! Very disorganized. I would absolutely not recommend this to anyone!

  • Good show for the money

by ohscc on 7/19/16UCF - OrlandoRating: 4 out of 5

Entertaining show for $10-$15 tickets. UCF did not do a good job at letting people in though security, but that was not the circus's fault. Great seats with first come first serve. We sat 5 rows up and were only 30' from the ring. They had elephants and camels. The performers were good as well. The prices of the merchandise, rides, etc are expensive but that is how they make their money with the cheap tickets. I do not fault the circus there. You expect this at every circus or concert or sports venue for that matter. Well worth it.

  • Over-rated & over-priced

    by verydisappointedpatron1 on 6/7/16Cox Business Center - TulsaRating: 1 out of 5

Garden brothers Circus is over-priced for the show we got. The ring was way over to the left of the stadum. There were only two different types of animals. All of the toys and snacks were outrageously priced, such as a small bag of popcorn for $8.00 - really? It was definitely not worth the $50 we paid to get in. The only plus was the acrobatic show. Other than that, I would not recommend bothering with this show. You also could not understand any words the announcer spoke.

Mixed feelings about the event. Most of the acts were really good. Others were far less entertaining. The guy that drove the little train was great! The guy 'helping' people into the elephant should not work with people much less small children. The guy that made the boys' snowcones (in extremely cool cups) has left the ice freeze his face 'like that' as my Momma woulda said!
