About Garden Brothers Circus

Garden Brothers Circus on Tour

You don’t become North America’s longest-running circus troupe by resting on your laurels, and for its 2021 extravaganza, the Garden Brothers Circus stages its most extreme, over-the-top show ever. Garden Brothers Nuclear Circus: Humans Gone Wild features such breathtaking feats as the “Human Slingshot,” “Motorcycles in the Sphere of Fear,” and the infamous “Wheel of Death” (a massive, vertically rotating structure on which acrobats perform death-defying stunts). But it’s not just humans going wild in this show - the Olate Performing Dogs (as seen on America’s Got Talent) will also make an appearance. And of course, it wouldn’t be a Garden Brothers Circus without such classic carnival attractions as jugglers, trapeze artists and a demonstration from the world’s strongest man. Bring the kids early to meet the performers, get face-painted like a superhero and take a ride down the Monster Slide.

Garden Brothers Background

America had the Ringling Bros., and Canada had the Garden Brothers. Both began as small family businesses before setting the gold standard for big-top entertainment in the 20th century. But with the Ringlings’ circus leaving town for good in 2017, the Garden Brothers now stand as North America’s longest-running carnival revue. Its roots date back to the 1920s, when Scottish emigré William Garden and his wife Jean began touring as a song-and-dance act called Garden & Shaw, sowing the seeds for the official launch of the Garden Bros. Circus in 1938. After William passed away in 1954, his Montreal-based sons Ian and Bill assumed control of the operation and turned it into a touring juggernaut, with Ian playing double duty as animal trainer and ringmaster, while his wife Micheline oversaw the technical aspects. After three successful decades at the helm, the couple passed down the reins to their children Richard and Ian Jr., who eventually handed them off to a cousin, ensuring that the Garden Bros. Circus has remained in the family after a century of spectacles.

    Good show. Pricy extras

    by K on 3/6/20Winston-Salem Fairgrounds - Winston-Salem

The show was good. The performers are very talented. The motorcyclist and acrobats were impressive. Music and lights went well with the show. The fun zone however, was overpriced. The camel ride lasted 2 minutes and cost $14.

    Is VIP worth it?

    by Me on 3/5/20Winston-Salem Fairgrounds - Winston-Salem

Well to tell you the truth I can say yes, because it’s not that you get anything special or feel very important but at least you don’t have fencing and obstacles to look around. Your about 10 foot from the ring itself, close enough to feel and smell the horses wind as the ride by. And the fact is your going to spend a lot of money in this joint anyway. They don’t allow anything coming in toys drinks or food that way they are sure to take everything ya got. $20 for camel ride $20 for face painting $20 for toy. OMG!😱🤯 it was entertaining with the dancing the acrobats the motorcycles the horse back riders the clown skits and the man shot out of the cannon. I just remembered going to a circus in Mount airy and they had more animals.

    Not worth the money

    by m. k. on 2/20/20Crossroads Arena - Corinth

The show was so so, ive been to several circuses in my time and this one was by far the wrost, every thing was way over priced and to be honest their was no thrill factor in it,the best part of the show was when one of the ladies riding a horse lost her wig, even my granddaughters were not impressed,

    Fun for whole family!

by KFlo on 2/4/20Ford Park - Beaumont

We really enjoyed the Garden Bros circus!! We sat ringside, which I highly recommend! My 4 year old LOVED it and my 10 month old was mesmerized! I brought my parents, who may have enjoyed it more than my kids. Also enjoyed all the activities beforehand and during intermission. All around fun, great family event!

    Not really a circus...

by James on 2/4/20Ford Park - Beaumont

Let's see, no animals, no tricks... Not really a circus in the traditional sense. Some acrobats, some clowns, some horse tricks. Good for kids maybe but don't waste your money on front row because the cheap seats were only 20ft further away.

    Not Great

    by Almiller09 on 2/4/20Ford Park - Beaumont

The show was okay. The clowns were a little funny, and the contortionist were cool. Other than that it really wasn’t very good. Not worth the ticket price. I would not recommend and I would not go again.

    Amazing

    by W. B. on 1/30/20Columbus Civic Center - Columbus

I went with my family to the circus. We had a wonderful time. There were so many different forms of entertainment for the children. Prices were a bit high on face paint ($14) but to see the joy on their face it was worth it!

My grandson and I loved the show

by Tagipo on 1/30/20Columbus Civic Center - Columbus

All the performances where top notch. I hadn't been to a circus since I was a child now taking my grandson to one it was amazing. Not a dull moment in any of the performances. They kept myself and my five year old grandson engaged the whole time. Thank you Garden Circus for a wonderful show. Hope to see you guys again.

    More circus needed

by Katie on 1/30/20Columbus Civic Center - Columbus

The circus itself was great but such a long intermission was taken where games and extras could be done. Everything was so expensive and it was hard to come enjoy the show without your child crying for all the extras.

This was a a good attempt.

by Bonus Mom on 1/27/20Macon Centreplex Coliseum - Macon

The elements were there but the performances were not. Some acts were good but we’re overshadowed by the others. However my kids had a ball and in the end that’s all that matters.

    terrible

by Erin on 1/27/20Macon Centreplex Coliseum - Macon

Circus gets worse each time I see it, this time takes the cake! A few acrobats, mostly a clown trying to be funny, some dancers. They did have the motorcycle cage. Only animals there were horses.

    Lacked organization

by SarahN on 1/27/20Macon Centreplex Coliseum - Macon

Unfortunately the circus did not meet our expectations. Overall it didn’t seem organized. The event started close to 30 minutes late intermission was drawn out and chaotic. Show just didn’t have as much engagement as last years show.

    Not was was advertised

by T. on 1/24/20THE VENUE AT UCF - Orlando

This was the worst, there was no preshow entertainment as advertised , NO animals it said on the website elephant and camel rides and when we arrived at the venue there was a sign that said no animals at the performance. And then to top it off there was no popcorn available until intermission. Was a waste of my time I would have been better to watch an old video of the Now nonexistent real circus.

    Ok

by KK on 1/23/20THE VENUE AT UCF - Orlando

Over priced and limited acts. The food was super expensive and not good quality. Performance was ok but at times there was down time. Long intermission with nothing to do. Tickets for bounce house and such $7 each.

    by Mlj4evr on 1/23/20Hertz Arena - Estero

My husband and I took our children to this circus and we all had a great time! It was fun and entertaining for kids and adults alike. The performers were very talented and we really enjoyed ourselves. If they come back to to our area again I will be sure to attend again!

    Good show, different without animals.

by Nessa on 1/22/20THE VENUE AT UCF - Orlando

The show was good but didn’t fully have the wow factor that it did with the animals. Also, the venue was freezing cold blasting air conditioning. And I also think more drinks and swords would have been purchased by parents if the prices were lower. The least expensive sword was $10.

I brought my 2 year old and she loved it. She rode her first pony and had a blast.

The show was good, but the prices inside were outrageous.

by S. on 1/22/20THE VENUE AT UCF - Orlando

Took my kid to the show with the free ticket that he received at school. On the website it said to arrive one hour early to pet animals, which their were no animals. We stood in a line outside for 45 minutes before we were let in. While waiting I felt it was a ploy to sell souvenirs as they came down the line with carts of stuff. Once we got up to have our tickets scanned we were told we needed to go back to the box office and that my sons ticket needed to be traded in. Not sure why they didn’t tell us this in the time we were standing in line. Once in, the refreshments and snacks were incredibly overpriced. I expect things to cost more at events but this was insane. $8 for a lemonade, $12 for cotton candy and $15 for a bucket of popcorn. The show was good but then had an intermission where they blew up a bounce house and charged for that as well. $8 for 7 minutes. I just felt the this was a huge rip off and the free tickets were just a ploy to get the parents there.

They did not say that there would be no animal performance when I bought tickets. We only knew that until we came to the show. My kid was quite disappointed.
