This show ran 2 1/2 hours, but could easily have been done well in 90 min. Gallagher has some really funny jokes and takes on politics and the world, but he brought a couple sidekicks that only slowed the show to a CRAWL. It was painful, until he brought out the Sledge-O-Matic, which is still one of the funniest bits in comedy!
Gallagher was very funny however he did offend some people near us who ended up leaving early. I really think the tickets should have come with an warning on them for adults only or mature audiences only. Honestly he did not pick on one person or type of people - it was equally distributed. Not thrilled with the end of his presentation (we could not tell it was the end) but over all it was great! Too bad there were not more people there but I honestly did not hear any advertising for the show
This was my first time seeing Gallagher. I was amazed at his stamina still today. I laughed so hard all night! So happy I finally got to see him!
My husband, friend and I went to Gallager. My friend never knew of him before that night. She had fun. We had front row left side sets. We did get the food particles our way. My friend asked me when she saw the plastic on the first 6 rows "What did you get me into". It was great. I would recommend seeing one of his shows.
Gallagher was much funnier than I expected. Would like to have seen more of the old, hilarious Bob Nelson.
He was Great! It was everything I thought it would be!
Gallagher was ingenious! The statements he makes are from outer space - yet so very true! He makes you think while laughing hysterically. The show was a little long without intermission, but well worth the wait! Gallagher spent time with people in the Lobby, posing for pictures and was just great - He primed you for the show! LOL I LOVE Bob Nelson! He is the main reason we went to the show. The only disappointment was we wanted to see him do the toilet paper routine we had seen years before. All in all, he is genuinely funny, while being completely clean! I'd love to see him again!
At first I was surprised how much he had aged since the last time I saw him on stage/tv, but even at 70 years old, he still has it. His philosophy on life hasn't changed nor would I expect it to. He'll make you laugh for the entire time you're there....just don't get out of your seat unless you want to be picked on. It was 3 hours of pure enjoyment.
Didn't know he was still touring. Saw tickets pop up and the price wasn't bad so we got the tickets. We were laughing most of the night.
The show was OUTSTANDING from the beginning and all through the show, just couldn't stop laughing from all the different joke's that each comedian just keep you laughing that much more. A++++ on the show. Thank you
Worst show I ever saw. Walked out before the sledgomatic. Humor was a stale old crap. Looked like a rejected vaudville act. Gallagher should throw the othed guys under the bus and do his own material. Even the props broke.
The show was disjointed and jumped all over the place when the three were on stage. Jokes/stories were started, never finished, just tailing off into another joke/story that didn't finish. While the other two were there to act as comedy wingmen, it just didn't work, they were too loud, nobody could hear each other on stage, and the various, stereotypical "characters" the one kept coming out as were not funny and did nothing for the show. It got boring and tedious to watch. When Gallagher was alone on stage, that's when it was the best. His act was reminiscent of what it once was. Of course the sledge-a-magic came out and that was fabulous. But for a three hour show, it was just the icing on top of a, boring, bland cake.
It was a 3+ hour show that had about 90 minutes of content. Very slow at points and dragged on too long.
If you expect to see the man who put on a hell of a show and left you wanting more, then watch his old material on your TV. The title of the show says it all..." the jokes on you". And it should be called "The Artie Fletcher Show" as he was the only one who actually performed for the show. Bob Nelson did nothing but interrupt almost every joke Gallagher attempted to tell. It was like watching my 7 year old grandson trying to be funny. Flashed the t-shirt sales money a few times beause the people who bought them were stupid. To end the show he put food in pie pans, reminded us how he use to actually have skit for this part but was old now and didn't give a shit, this was his new way. Don't waste your time or money to see him in person. Watch him on Netflix.
Definitely worth the money I was super close to the stage which made it more personal and exciting for me
Still great after all these years. We sit ringside and got blasted . Always fun
Growing up during the 80's I remember watching Gallagher's specials many times and was amazed at his unique brand of humor. It is now many years later and i finally got to see him perform in person last weekend. It was an incredible funny show and the performance was much longer than I had anticipated. I believe it was well over 2 and a half hours. He definitely gave the people their money's worth. He definitely speaks his mind and engages with the audience (which can be brutal if he takes a dislike to you ). It was a great show and I enjoyed both of the comedians. As much as I enjoyed the performance , I did find certain parts a bit offensive. There are some jokes that came across as xenophobic rather than funny. There was a few homophobic jokes as well . There was some profanity ,which I don't mind, but there were young kids in the audience . Having said all of that i still would highly recommend going to watch him in person. He is a comic legend and yet still highly underrated by many people. He is much more than just the guy that smashes watermelons .
Either Gallaher has changed, I have changed, or we both have changed, but I think he was better when I saw him 20+ years ago. He was actually funny then, now he's more offensive and vulgar than funny. I was not entertained.
I remember seeing Gallagher over 20 years ago in Florida. He was so funny that the huge venue was full of unbridled laughter. My wife and I repeated favorite lines from the show on the drive back home. This time, not so much. Artie Fletcher was not quite funny and much too political in his jokes. The exchanges between Artie and Gallagher were a distraction. A few times, Gallagher would be on a roll and Artie would interrupt with an inappropriate comment. Then the magic would be gone. Gallagher is at his best when he shares his observations about some idiocy in our lives, spoon/forks at this show. I would see Gallagher again if it was a solo act, but not if he's teamed up with Artie Fletcher.
