  • Amazing GVB concert! Loaded with treats!

by gaitherfaithfulfan on 12/23/12GIANT Center - HersheyRating: 5 out of 5

The first half of the concert was a regular concert, if you will. This concert started out with other "Homecoming" artists, whom I can honestly take or leave. The Vocal Band's performance was stellar! They tend to feature Mark Lowry less than the other artists, but he was featured prominently in the GVB set. The second half of the evening was a Christmas concert. Christmas concert treat: "Mary, Did You Know?" performed by Mark Lowry AND Buddy Greene together!! For a fan, couldn't have been better. I was able to get autographs from the entire vocal band (except Bill Gaither) and several other artists during intermission and after the concert.

  • Gaither concert was awesome!

by seagull10 on 12/18/12Van Andel Arena - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

The Gaither Homecoming concerts are by far the best concerts that I have ever attended. They have a variety of performers along with a wide range of genre of music. I love every concert that I have attended. They always have top notched talented musicians along with a sincere presentation. The only recommendation that I would make is to not have the concert scheduled so close to Christmas. I was happy that Gloria Gaither was in attendance. An awesome and wonderful concert sums up my experience!

  • Gaither Vocal Band is incredible!!

by LisaFox777 on 12/18/12Van Andel Arena - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

I have dvd's, I have downloads of their music & I watch YouTube videos of these guys often....nothing compares to the real thing. The talent & power these men have is beyond incredible. I could tell they were tired. This was the last stop of their Christmas tour but they put it all out there for the glory of God. Their music truly touched my soul...

We really enjoy the Gaither Homecoming concerts. We try to go every year if at all possible. It was a very pleasant experience.

I have been to many Gaither concerts, and this one was one of the best, probably because of the Christmas season, but especially because Bill and Gloria shared their 50th Wedding Anniversary with all of us. Please come back to Grand Rapids soon!!

Loved it, but would like to have heard more from David Phelps, Mark Lowry, Michael English and Bill. The guys do things like "The King Is Coming" ....can never get enough of that emotion filled singing! The Booth Brothers are great, I saw them at a concert in Traverse City, MI a couple of months ago. The groups are all great, but more of the big guys, please!

  • It was fantastic

by poptootsie on 12/17/12Van Andel Arena - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

The show was really nice, did not however enjoy the Harkup Band, could do better with that. Otherwise a very meaningful show and came out very blessed.

  • Gaithers homecoming christmas

Amazing, uplifting music and message. Can't wait for next time they come!

The musical talent was excellent, as always. I do wish that they had done more Christmas themed music since that is how this concert was advertised.

  • Gaither Christmas Homecoming

by 1quailhunter on 12/17/12Van Andel Arena - Grand RapidsRating: 4 out of 5

A well organized and thoughtfully planned out event, which includes a tremendous amount of both highly talented musicians and vocalists. The only downside is the pure length of the concert. Four hours is far too long.

  • Exceptional

by Anonymous on 12/17/12Van Andel Arena - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

As always, the Gaithers never let us down. Their music is a treasure of God's Word. Much to my dismay, the Christian music industry is putting out some very worldly, self centered, hard rock music these day. It is always a safe bet that the music the Gaithers put out is based on sound doctrine and very ear pleasing. Their music will be sung decades from now. Praise God!

  • Gaither Christmas was outstanding

by CalifNative on 12/17/12Van Andel Arena - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

The Gaither Christmas Homecoming was the best music event that I ever attended. The music was powerful, the performers professional and sincere, and the choreography right on. The event was fun as well as spiritually uplifting. I was both moved and changed.

  • Grand Rapids

    by Robine53 on 12/17/12Van andle - MuskegonRating: 2 out of 5

Well Bill, What can I say. It was great when the Booth Bros Sang thier opening song, but after that it didn't do much for me. I was disapointed when you sang that old song "The King is coming" Because I'm a Preterist and the song is a lie. Your futurism is lacking and its doubtful i will ever attend again. I pray that your eyes are opened to the truth of the second advent as a past event. And Recomend you read The Parosuia by James stuart Russell. The songs about Jesus being able to change a broken man, and the help he sends the humble are great stuff, but thier just wasn't enough of the heart felt stuff. Of course Mark L was funny as always and that was refreshing.

  • Better then expected

by Doco0347 on 12/17/12Van Andel Arena - Grand RapidsRating: 4 out of 5

I bought the tickets for this show as a Christmas gift for my mom. She really wanted to go to the show and when I saw it was coming to Grand Rapids I jumped. I was expecting it to be like the TV specials and those are not to my liking. I was very pleased to find the show was so much better. All of the performers had excelllent voices! I have two reasons for not giving the show 5 stars. The lenght of the show was to long, 4 hours long. It should be 2-1/2 or 3 hours but not 4. The other reason kinda ties into the length issue. The second half got preachy. Gloria Gaither got up and spoke for what seemed like hours even thought it was more like 10 minutes. I likes the speach at first but it was to long. I will go to the show again when it comes around but I might leave and intermission.

  • Gaither limited Christmas song choices

by set3 on 12/17/12Van Andel Arena - Grand RapidsRating: 2 out of 5

I brought my 88 year old Mom for Christmas - VERY LOUD, she actually had an ear ache when we left, The song choices were not the old favorite but new JAZZY numbers, we appreciated the wonderful talent, but will not go next year. Just not what we enjoy I think maybe 20% of the music we did.

Music was great, most of the time they stuck to the theme of the season. Would of liked it more if they continued with what I already stated. Due away with the comedy antics displayed on stage or verbally stated.
